IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
These simple safety precautions should be followed carefully when using electrical appliances:
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Read the entire manual.
- Never touch the rice cooker's hot surfaces when it is in use. Use the handles.
- Neither this appliance nor its plug or power cord should be immersed in any kind of liquid.
- Small children must be kept under supervision if they are in the proximity of the rice cooker while it is in use.
- Do not allow the cord to hang over the edge of a worktop within children's reach. Your rice cooker contains boiling water, which can scald.
- Always unplug the appliance when it is not in use or is being cleaned.
- Do not unplug the rice cooker by pulling on its power cord.
- Do not use this appliance if it or its power cord is damaged. Repairs must be carried out by an authorised service centre.
- Do not use the rice cooker outdoors.
- Do not allow the cord to hang over the edge of a worktop and ensure that it does not get caught in drawers, etc.
- The rice cooker's lid should always be on when it is in use since the appliance produces and emits steam. Ensure the lid is on to avoid the risk of scalding, fire and other mishaps.
- The rice cooker should be kept under constant supervision while it is in use.
- This appliance is intended for domestic use only.
- Never place the rice container on a hot surface such as an electric oven, gas burner, etc.
- The steam vent must never be obstructed.
- The area around the steam vent will be extremely hot both during and immediately after cooking and therefore should not be touched.
BEFORE USING:
- Rinse the rice container, lid, measuring cup and spatula in warm soapy water and dry them thoroughly.
- Wipe the heating plate with a clean, damp cloth.
NB! Be very careful if you move the appliance with hot water in it.
COOKING RICE:
Before use ensure that the rice container and heating plate's thermostat are clean and dry. Remember do not scratch the container as this may result in a poorer finished product.
- Pour the measured quantities of rice and water into the rice container. NEVER POUR ANY KIND OF LIQUID ONTO THE HEATING PLATE. Opinion is divided about whether one should rinse rice before cooking it, however one generally achieves better results if rice is rinsed first.
- Put the rice container onto the heating plate and put the lid on. Make sure the container is properly in place.
- Plug the appliance in. The red signal lamp will light and stay on until the power is switched off.
- Press the start button to start cooking – the cooking indicator will light. When the rice is cooked, the appliance will automatically switch over to the heating function. Allow the rice to rest for a further approx. 10 minutes. Stir the rice with the spatula. The rice is now ready to be served.
-
Unplug the appliance from the mains BEFORE you remove its lid and the rice container.
-
If you want to keep the rice warm, leave the lid on and do not switch the rice cooker off.
NB! Rice can be kept warm for up to 2 hours.
NON-STICK CONTAINER:
Do not use metallic utensils or other sharp objects.
Only plastic or wooden utensils should be used.
MEASUREMENTS:
Use the measuring cup provided (1 cup) and the following measurements for perfect results: for each cup of rice, use 2 cups of water.
NB! The amount of water needed may vary a little depending on the type of rice.
Never cook less than 2 cups of rice.
TIPS:
If you are going to use the automatic heating function, the container ought to contain at least three cups of rice.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE:
The rice container, lid, measuring cup and spatula should be washed in warm soapy water after every use. Never use abrasive cleaners, scouring powder or metal pads. Afterwards dry thoroughly. The heating plate should be wiped down with a damp cloth. NB! If cooked rice has stuck to the bottom of the container, fill it with warm soapy water and allow it to stand for approx. 10 minutes. The container should then be easy to clean.
NB! NEVER immerse the heating plate, power cord or plug in any kind of liquid. If the plug or internal workings of the heating plate come into contact with water, the appliance must be unplugged immediately. Allow the appliance to dry thoroughly before using it again.
THE GUARANTEE DOES NOT APPLY:
