Mains Power

• This unit is designed to operate with the provided mains adapter.

- Connecting the unit to any other power source may cause damage to the unit. Unwind the mains adapter cable to its full length. Connect the end of the cable to the DC IN 5V -2A Socket at the rear of the unit and then connect the mains adapter to the mains socket. Make sure the mains adapter is firmly inserted into the mains socket. The unit is now connected and ready to use.

Charging from the USB OUTPUT Charging Port

The USB OUTPUT 5V -1A Charging Port is designed only for charging mobile devices (e.g. MP3 player, mobile phone, etc.). It supplies 5V DC at a charging current of up to 1000mA (1A).

Use a USB cable (not included) to connect mobile device to the USB OUTPUT 5V -1A Charging Port of the unit and the mobile device will start charging.

Using Earphones

Turn down the volume before connecting the earphones. Slowly raise the volume with the earphones on until you reach your desired volume. When earphones are connected, the speakers automatically mutes.

Long-term exposure to loud music may cause hearing damage. It is best to avoid extreme volume when using earphones, especially for extended periods of time.

  • To switch the unit off completely, unplug the mains adapter from the mains socket.

When you turn on the radio it will automatically search and store all the available stations. You may conduct an additional Full Scan to ensure all stations are picked up and stored. It is also recommended every few months to run a new scan to pick up any new DAB/DAB+ that may have begun broadcasting after your radio scanned last time.

  1. For initial use, your radio will conduct a full scan and store stations list in memory.
  2. Once the scanning is completed, the DAB/DAB+ stations will be displayed in alphanumeric order. The first station in the list will be selected.

  • If no DAB/DAB+ signal is found, it may be necessary for you to relocate your radio.

Viewing Station Information

It is possible to view the information that is shown on the display when listening to a DAB/DAB+ program by pressing the INFO Button repeatedly. The display will show the information through Scrolling text, Signal strength, Program Type, Ensemble, Frequency, Signal quality, Bitrate and Codec, Format, Time and Date.

While you selected Signal strength, a signal bar with the strength of the current station will show on the display.

The indicator on the signal bar shows the minimum acceptable signal level.

While a program is playing, press and hold one of preset buttons 1-5 until the display show .

Recalling a Preset Station

  1. Press MODE button to select the mode (DAB or FM) you wish to play.
  2. Press one of preset buttons 1-5 to select the stored preset station you want to play.

Selecting FM Mode

  1. Press MODE button repeatedly to select FM mode.
  2. For initial use, it will start at the beginning of the FM frequency range (87.50 MHz). Or it will play the last FM station you were listening to.
  3. To manually change the FM frequency, make sure no other order/system setting is going on, press ▲▼ buttons to change the frequency by 0.05 MHz per step.
  4. To automatically scan, while FM frequency shows up, press ▲buttons first and then press SELECT button, your radio will skip forwards or backwards until it reached the next available station.

Scan Setting

By default, FM scans stop at any available station. This may result in a poor signal-to-noise ratio (hiss) from weak stations.

  1. To change the scan settings to stop only at stations with good signal strength, press MENU button, and then press ▲buttons to select , press SELECT button to confirm.

Audio Setting

By default, all stereo stations are reproduced in stereo. For weak stations, this may result in a poor signal-to-noise ratio (hiss).

It is possible to view the information that is displayed on the display when listening to a FM program by pressing INFO button repeatedly. The display will show the information through Radio Text, Program Type, Program Name, Audio info, Time and Date.

Presetting Stations

You can store up to 5 of your favourite FM stations to the memory. This will enable you to access your favourite stations quickly and easily.

  1. To store a preset, you must first be listening to the station that you would like to save. Press and hold the preset button number (1-5) to save your desired.
  2. The station will be stored and the screen will show .

Recalling a Preset Station

Once you have saved a station, you can recall it by pressing the preset Preset button 1-5.

AUX IN Mode

The AUX IN mode allows for quick and easy connection to an MP3 player or other external audio sources.

  1. Before connecting to the mains socket, use a 3.5 mm audio cable (not included) to connect to your external audio device through the AUX IN Socket on the back of unit.
  2. Connect power adapter to mains socket, press ⏻ button to switch unit on.
  3. Press MODE button repeatedly to select mode.
  4. In AUX IN mode, you may operate your audio device directly for playback features.
  5. To gain optimal volume levels, adjusting the output volume level on the audio device as well is recommended.
