Damage

• Please inspect the unit for damage after unpacking.
• Do not continue to operate the unit if you are in any doubt about it working normally, or if it is damaged in any way - switch off, unplug from the mains socket and consult your dealer.

Location of Unit

• The unit must be placed on a flat stable surface and not subjected to vibrations.
• Do not place the unit on sloped or unstable surfaces as the unit may fall off or tip over.
• The mains socket must be located near the unit and should be easily accessible.

Temperature

• Avoid extreme degrees of temperature, either hot or cold. Place the unit well away from heat sources such as radiators or gas / electric fires.
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and other sources of heat.
• Attention should be drawn to the use of apparatus in moderate climates.

Naked Flames

- Never place any type of candle or naked flame on the top of or near the unit.

Moisture

• To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or product damage, do not expose this unit to rain, moisture, dripping or splashing. No objects filled with liquids, such as vases, should be placed on the unit. Do not operate the unit with wet hands, near water or other liquid.

Ventilation

Mains Power

• This unit is designed to operate with the provided mains adapter.
• Connecting the unit to any other power source may cause damage to the unit. Unwind the mains adapter cable to its full length. Connect the end of the cable to the DC IN 5V -2A Socket at the rear of the unit and then connect the mains adapter to the mains socket. Make sure the mains adapter is firmly inserted into the mains socket. The unit is now connected and ready to use.

Charging from the USB OUTPUT Charging Port

The USB OUTPUT 5V -1A Charging Port is designed only for charging mobile devices (e.g. MP3 player, mobile phone, etc.). It supplies 5V DC at a charging current of up to 1000mA (1A).

Use a USB cable (not included) to connect mobile device to the USB OUTPUT 5V -1A Charging Port of the unit and the mobile device will start charging.

ONLY use the USB OUTPUT 5V=1A

Charging Port to charge small mobile devices. NEVER use this port for any other purpose.

Using Earphones

Turn down the volume before connecting the earphones. Slowly raise the volume with the earphones on until you reach your desired volume. When earphones are connected, the speakers automatically mutes.

Long-term exposure to loud music may cause hearing damage. It is best to avoid extreme volume when using earphones, especially for extended periods of time.

Powering ON/OFF

• Press⚠to switch the unit on.
• Press again to switch the unit to Standby mode.
• To switch the unit off completely, unplug the mains adapter from the mains socket.

Adjusting the Volume

- Adjust the volume to the desired level by pressing VOLUME +/-.

Language

1. When in DAB, FM or AUX IN mode, press MENU and then ▲repeatedly to select . Press SELECT to confirm.
2. Press repeatedly to select . Press SELECT to confirm.
3. Press repeatedly to select the desired language. Press SELECT to confirm.

Factory Reset

1. When in DAB, FM or AUX IN mode, press MENU and then ▲ repeatedly to select . Press SELECT to confirm.
2. Press ▲repeatedly to select . Press SELECT to confirm.
3. Press ▲▼ to select . Press SELECT to confirm.

After the factory reset, all the tuned stations, DAB/FM preset stations will be erased.

Software Version

1. Press MENU and then repeatedly to select . Press SELECT to confirm.
2. Press ▲repeatedly to select . Press SELECT to confirm.
3. Press MENU to exit.

When you turn on the radio it will automatically search and store all the available stations. You may conduct an additional Full Scan to ensure all stations are picked up and stored. It is also recommended every few months to run a new scan to pick up any new DAB/DAB+ that may have begun broadcasting after your radio scanned last time.

1. For initial use, your radio will conduct a full scan and store stations list in memory.
2. Once the scanning is completed, the DAB/DAB+ stations will be displayed in alphanumeric order. The first station in the list will be selected.

• The DAB/DAB+ stations will be displayed and stored in alphanumeric order.
• If no DAB/DAB+ signal is found, it may be necessary for you to relocate your radio.

The clock will be updated automatically if you can receive DAB/FM signal in your location. In order to synchronize to the current local time, you must leave it on the DAB/FM station for a period of time.

Full Scan

This feature enables your radio to scan for all available stations in DAB mode.

Press MENU button. Press ▲button to select . Press SELECT button to confirm.

Station Order

This feature enables your radio to display the stations in different order.

1. Press MENU button and then press ▲button to select . Press SELECT button to confirm.
2. Press buttons to browse and , and then press SELECT button to confirm your selection.

Alphanumeric	Display all stations in alphanumeric order.
Ensemble List	currently broadcasting active stations before inactive ones.

Station List

This feature enables you to select a station from available station list.

1. Press MENU button, and then press ▲buttons to select . Press SELECT button to confirm.
2. Or, while a program is playing, press ▲buttons to show station list.
3. Press buttons to browse stations list, and then press SELECT button to confirm. The selected station will broadcast.

Viewing Station Information

It is possible to view the information that is shown on the display when listening to a DAB/DAB+ program by pressing the INFO Button repeatedly. The display will show the information through Scrolling text, Signal strength, Program Type, Ensemble, Frequency, Signal quality, Bitrate and Codec, Format, Time and Date.

Showing Signal Strength

While you selected Signal strength, a signal bar with the strength of the current station will show on the display.

The indicator on the signal bar shows the minimum acceptable signal level.

Stations with signal strength below the minimum signal level may not provide a steady stream of audio.

Storing Preset Stations

This is the same for DAB/DAB+ and FM stations.

Your can store up to 5 of your favourite stations to the memory. This will enable you to access your favourite stations quickly and easily.

While a program is playing, press and hold one of preset buttons 1-5 until the display show .

Recalling a Preset Station

1. Press MODE button to select the mode (DAB or FM) you wish to play.
2. Press one of preset buttons 1-5 to select the stored preset station you want to play.

Selecting FM Mode

1. Press MODE button repeatedly to select FM mode.
2. For initial use, it will start at the beginning of the FM frequency range (87.50 MHz). Or it will play the last FM station you were listening to.
3. To manually change the FM frequency, make sure no other order/system setting is going on, press ▲▼ buttons to change the frequency by 0.05 MHz per step.
4. To automatically scan, while FM frequency shows up, press ▲buttons first and then press SELECT button, your radio will skip forwards or backwards until it reached the next available station.

The clock will be updated automatically if you can receive DAB/FM signal in your location. In order to synchronize to the current local time, you must leave it on the DAB/FM station for a period of time.

Scan Setting

By default, FM scans stop at any available station. This may result in a poor signal-to-noise ratio (hiss) from weak stations.

1. To change the scan settings to stop only at stations with good signal strength, press MENU button, and then press ▲buttons to select , press SELECT button to confirm.

2. Press ▲buttons to browse , and then press SELECT button to confirm.

Audio Setting

By default, all stereo stations are reproduced in stereo. For weak stations, this may result in a poor signal-to-noise ratio (hiss).

1. To play weak stations in mono, press MENU button, and then press buttons to select

The unit will automatically switch between stereo and mono when is selected depending on the signal strength, but you can override this and switch this function manually. This is helpful when receiving poor signal reception.

Viewing Station Information

It is possible to view the information that is displayed on the display when listening to a FM program by pressing INFO button repeatedly. The display will show the information through Radio Text, Program Type, Program Name, Audio info, Time and Date.

Presetting Stations

You can store up to 5 of your favourite FM stations to the memory. This will enable you to access your favourite stations quickly and easily.

1. To store a preset, you must first be listening to the station that you would like to save. Press and hold the preset button number (1-5) to save your desired.
2. The station will be stored and the screen will show .

Recalling a Preset Station

Once you have saved a station, you can recall it by pressing the preset Preset button 1-5.

The AUX IN mode allows for quick and easy connection to an MP3 player or other external audio sources.

1. Before connecting to the mains socket, use a 3.5 mm audio cable (not included) to connect to your external audio device through the AUX IN Socket on the back of unit.
2. Connect power adapter to mains socket, press ⏻ button to switch unit on.
3. Press MODE button repeatedly to select mode.
4. In AUX IN mode, you may operate your audio device directly for playback features.
5. To gain optimal volume levels, adjusting the output volume level on the audio device as well is recommended.

If there is low audio input or without audio input continuously for 10 minutes in Aux in mode, the unit will automatically switch to standby mode to save power.

Setting Sleep

This function enables your unit to switch to standby mode by itself after a set sleep time.

1. Press MENU and then repeatedly to select . Press SELECT to confirm.
2. Press ▲ repeatedly to select . Press SELECT to confirm.
3. Press ▲▼ Buttons to view options: Sleep Off, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes. Select Sleep off and then press the SELECT Button to confirm. Sleep function will be switched off.
4. Press ▲▼ Buttons to select 15, 30, 45, 60 or 90 and then press the SELECT Button to confirm. The sleep icon ⏻ will show on the display. To view the set sleep time, redo above step 1.

Setting Equaliser

1. Press MENU and then repeatedly to select . Press SELECT to confirm.
2. Press ▲ repeatedly to select . Press SELECT to confirm.
3. Press repeatedly to set the level of Treble and \ Bass. Press SELECT to confirm.
4. Press ▲▼ to set the level of Treble and Bass. Press SELECT to confirm.

Setting Alarm

Your radio includes dual alarms. Make sure you have set the clock time before setting the alarm.

1. Press ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button to select or . The display shows Alarm 1 Setup or Alarm 2 Setup. Press SELECT to confirm.
2. The display shows Alarm 1 Wizard or Alarm 2 Wizard. Press ▲ buttons to select options, and then press SELECT button to confirm the setting.

1. When the display shows Alarm Saved, the alarm setting is successful. For it on will show on the display.
2. To temporarily switch off alarm, press SNOOZE/ DIMMER button to activate Snooze function when the alarm is sounding. Press SNOOZE/DIMMER button repeatedly to set the snooze period time of 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes in turn. The set snooze time will show as Snooze mm:ss on the display.

Selecting Snooze period time depends on which alarm duration time you selected.

1. To turn off alarm, press ⏻ button when the alarm is sounding.
2. To cancel the alarm, refer to steps 1-2 to set in Alarm 1 Wizard or Alarm 1 Wizard, or press and hold Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 button.

Setting Time

1. Press MENU and then repeatedly to select . Press SELECT to confirm.
2. Press ▲ repeatedly to select , and then press SELECT button to view options as below:

Setting Contrast

This features enables you to change the contrast of power on and standby mode.

When unit power on or standby, press the SNOOZE/ DIMMER button repeatedly to change the contrast level of power on or standby mode cycle through High, Medium and Low.

Cleaning the Unit

Ensure the unit is fully unplugged from the mains socket before cleaning.

• To clean the unit, wipe the case with a slightly moist, lint-free cloth.
- Do not use any cleaning fluids containing alcohol, ammonia or abrasives.
- Do not spray an aerosol at or near the unit.

If a problem does occur, it may often be due to something very minor. The following table contains various tips.

No coverage in your area or poor reception	Adjust the position of the aerial.
The display is blank	This may occur if the broadcaster changes the label of a service or removes a label while tuned. The unit will try to re-tune or perform a scan.
