Operating instructions

Tips and advice

  • Never run the blender for more than 2 minutes at a time. Let the motor cool down for a few minutes before using the blender again.
  • Never run the blender empty.
  • If frozen ingredients are to be mixed, they should be mixed as soon as they are placed in the jug, otherwise they might freeze together and jam the blades.
  • Do not fill the jug with hot liquid as the pressure build-up in the blender can be too high.
  • Never shake the jug whilst the motor is running. If ingredients get stuck on the sides of the jug, shut off the blender and use a spatula etc. Do not start the blender again until you have replaced the lid properly.
  • The glass jug can withstand contents with temperatures up to 60 °C. Do not mix hot ingredients with ice-cold ingredients, the differences in temperature could cause the glass to crack.

Important considerations

• Always keep one hand on the lid when running the blender.
- Use extra caution when blending hot liquids.
- Use the interval mode (or use the manual mode and choose your own intervals) when mixing solid ingredients or very thick liquids to prevent the blades from becoming stuck.

Mixing solid foodstuffs into purée

  1. Cut the ingredients into small pieces (2–3 cm), remove the centre cap and add a few pieces at a time. This is better than adding everything all at once.
  2. Always add a little liquid to solid foodstuffs before starting to mix them. More liquid can then gradually be poured into the jug through the hole in the lid once the centre cap has been removed.
  3. Thoroughly clean all parts before using the blender for the first time. Refer to the Care and maintenance section.
  4. Add the ingredients to the jug.
  5. Put the lid (2) and the centre cap (1) on the jug.
  6. Place the jug onto the motor unit.
  7. Plug the mains lead into an electrical socket and switch the completely assembled blender on by turning the function selector to an appropriate setting for the contents of the jug.

Programme Ice crush mode

  1. Press [ice crush], the respective LED will light. The blender will run on an automatic programme with different speeds and pauses.

  2. The programme will automatically stop after approximately 70 seconds. The programme can be interrupted at any time by pressing the [▶/■] button. The motor will stop and all three LEDs will flash.

Smoothie mode

  1. Press [ smoothie ], the respective LED will light. The blender will start an automatic programme with different speeds.

  2. The programme will automatically stop after 60 seconds. The programme can be interrupted at any time by pressing the [▶/■] button. The motor will stop and all three LEDs will flash.

Interval mode

Press [interval], the blender will start an automatic programme with different speeds. The programme will automatically stop after approximately 45 seconds. The programme can be interrupted at any time by pressing the [▶/■] button. The motor will stop and all three LEDs will flash.

Manual mode

  1. Set the function selector to the desired speed setting.
  2. Press [▶/■] to start.
  3. Press [▶/■] or turn the function selector to 0 to switch the blender off.

Note: The blender will only start if the glass jug is fitted correctly. The blender is fitted with a safety switch to prevent the motor from operating unless the jug is in place.

Turn the function selector to 0 and unplug the blender after use.

Care and maintenance

Note:

  • Switch the blender off by turning the function switch to 0 and unplug it before cleaning it. Exercise extreme caution. Take care when handling the blade unit – the blades are extremely sharp.
  • Never immerse the motor unit into water. Wipe the outside of the motor unit with a clean, damp cloth.

Cleaning the jug with the blades fitted

Empty the jug, fill it with water, add a little washing-up liquid, put the jug back onto the motor unit and turn the function selector to the interval mode. Operate the blender until you are satisfied that any food residue has been washed off the sides of the jug and then empty the dishwater out of the jug. Rinse the jug with clean water and let it dry.

Cleaning with the blades removed

  1. Turn the jug upside down and remove the jug base by turning it anticlockwise.
  2. Lift out the blade unit, remove the seal and wash all the parts.
  3. Let the parts air dry before re-assembling them in the jug. Refer to the picture in the Product description section to ensure that the seal is fitted correctly.
  4. If necessary the jug and the jug base (6) can be washed in the dishwasher. Note: Only the jug and the jug base are dishwasher proof, all the other parts must be washed by hand.

Switch the blender off, unplug the mains lead from the wall socket and store the cleaned blender in a dry, dust-free place out children's reach whenever it is not to be used for any extended period.
