Frequently Asked Questions - Stick 7090 OBH NORDICA

How do I assemble the vacuum cleaner?
Loosen the screw on the back of the vacuum cleaner, attach the handle, then tighten the screw. Attach the desired brush (floor brush, parquet brush, or crevice nozzle) to the front.
How do I replace the dust bag?
Switch off and unplug. Press the release button to open the dust compartment lid. Press the bag holder upward, remove the old bag, attach a new bag to the holder, then close the lid. Ensure the bag is not trapped or punctured.
Why is the dust bag replacement indicator still red after changing the bag?
This may indicate a blockage in the hose, tube, or nozzle, or that the motor filter or exhaust filters are dirty. Check and clear any clogs, and replace filters if necessary.
Can I use the vacuum cleaner without a dust bag?
No, the vacuum cleaner must never be used without a dust bag. The dust compartment lid cannot close without a bag installed to ensure safety.
How often should I replace the filters?
Replace the motor filter every time you open a new pack of dust bags (approximately every 6 months). Replace the exhaust filters when clogged or at least every 6 months.
What does the suction power regulation do?
The electronic slider adjusts suction power: MIN for delicate surfaces, MED for carpets, MAX for hard floors like wooden floors.
The vacuum cleaner won’t start. What should I check?
First, unplug and check for visible damage to cord/plug. If damaged, return for repair. Check if a mains fuse has blown. If the vacuum overheated, let it cool for at least 1 hour before restarting.
Can I vacuum liquids with this vacuum?
No, under no circumstances. The vacuum cleaner is designed for dry vacuuming only. Using it for liquids will damage the unit and void the warranty.
How do I store the vacuum cleaner?
After use, switch off and wind the cord around the cord hooks. Place the vacuum vertically with the floor brush attached and brushes retracted. Push forward until the floor brush clicks into place for self-standing storage.
What accessories are included?
The vacuum comes with a 2-in-1 floor brush (carpet/hard floor), a soft parquet brush for delicate floors, and a crevice nozzle for corners and crevices.

Assembling the vacuum cleaner

Loosen the screw on the back of the vacuum cleaner (1) and attach the handle (2) to the vacuum cleaner. Place the screw back in place and tighten it with a screwdriver. Attach the desired brush to the vacuum cleaner.

PLEASE NOTE!

The vacuum cleaner is equipped with a switch that automatically switches off the vacuum cleaner if it becomes overheated due to clogged suction, tube, or filter. If this switch is activated due to superheating, switch off the vacuum cleaner by pressing the On/Off button (6) and remove the plug from the power socket. Allow the vacuum cleaner to cool off for at least 1 hour before it is taken into use again. Check if dust or similar blocks suction, tubes, or filters before switching on the vacuum cleaner again.

Floor brush

The floor brush can be used for cleaning carpets as well as hard floors as it is equipped with two positions:

Position 1 (brushes are raised) is used for vacuum cleaning carpets and is indicated on the floor brush by the symbol 📁.

Position 2 (brushes are lowered) is used for vacuum cleaning hard floors such as parquet, tiles, and similar and is indicated on the floor brush with the symbol 📄

Select one of the two positions by depressing the foot switch with the desired symbol.

Parquet brush

The soft brushes make the this accessory well suited for vacuum cleaning delicate floors, such as marble or parquet floors.

Crevice nozzle

The crevice nozzle is used for vacuum cleaning crevices, corners, and similar.

Power cord

The vacuum cleaner is equipped with two cord hooks making it easy to rewind the cord after use.

Unroll the power cord before use by first turning the top cord hook downwards, then unroll the power cord. Apply the plug to a power socket.

How to use the vacuum cleaner

When the brush is attached to the vacuum cleaner, and the power cord is unrolled and applied to a power socket, the vacuum cleaner is ready for use. Press the On/Off button (6) to switch on the vacuum cleaner. It is recommended that the suction power regulation is set to 'MINIMUM', i.e. the suction power regulation indicator is placed far right, before the vacuum cleaner is switched on.

Suction power regulation

The vacuum cleaner's suction power can be regulated depending on what material you are vacuum cleaning, and how dirty it is. Suction power is regulated by turning the suction power regulation (7).

MINIMUM: Use for e.g. delicate surfaces

MEDIUM: Use for e.g. fitted carpets

MAXIMUM: Use for e.g. hard floors, e.g. wooden floors

It is recommended that the cord is held in one hand during vacuum cleaning to keep it from getting in the way.

When you have finished vacuum cleaning and wish to store the vacuum cleaner, press the On/Off button to switch off the vacuum cleaner and wind the power cord around the cord hooks. Place the vacuum cleaner vertically with the floor brush attached and the brushes drawn back. Then push the vacuum cleaner forwards until the floor brush clicks into place. The vacuum cleaner can now stand on its own and can be stored e.g. in a broom cabinet.

When you want to use the vacuum cleaner again, the floor brush will automatically follow in its fixed position when the vacuum cleaner is moved.

Consequently, use your foot to press down the floor brush before use.

Bag replacement indicator

The vacuum cleaner is equipped with a dust bag full indicator which indicates when the dust bag must be replaced.

The indicator works as follows: When the indicator light shines red the dust bag must be replaced, even if the bag is not completely full.

The indicator functions by measurement of the power with which air flows through the dust bag. If the airflow is reduced, the vacuum cleaner will regard this as a full dust bag and the indicator will be activated.

If the indicator is still activated after you have replaced the dust bag, this may be a sign

- that airflow through hose, tube, suction opening, or nozzle is blocked. Check where the clogging is and remove it before switching on the vacuum cleaner again.

- that the motor filter is dirty/clogged and must be replaced

- that the exhaust filter is dirty/clogged and must be replaced

Do not use the vacuum cleaner when the dust bag replacement indicator is activated. Make sure to replace the dust bag immediately instead.

How to replace the dust bag

To replace the dust bag, switch off the vacuum cleaner and unplug from the power socket.

First, remove the dust compartment lid by pressing the release button (10). Then press the bag holder upwards until the bag can be removed from the bag holder. Attach a new bag to the holder. Insert illustration 2

Be careful not to trap or puncture the dust bag when closing the lid to the dust compartment.

IMPORTANT!

The vacuum cleaner must NEVER be used without a dust bag. The dust compartment lid cannot be closed if there is no dust bag in the compartment. Do consequently not apply excessive force attempting to close the lid.

Replacing filters

The motor filter

The vacuum cleaner is equipped with a motor filter which is located at the top of the dust compartment. The motor filter prevents dust from entering the motor room. This filter should be replaced every time you open a new package of dust bags (or approximately every 6 months).

The motor filter is replaced by removing the lid to the dust compartment and subsequently removing the filter (9). Then attach a new filter and re-attach the lid.

IMPORTANT!

The vacuum cleaner must NEVER be used without a motor filter

Exhaust filter

The vacuum cleaner is equipped with two exhaust filters placed on either side of the vacuum cleaner. These exhaust filters should be replaced when they are clogged or worn out or approximately every 6 months.

Open the lid to access the filters by pressing the release button downwards. Then the lid can be removed. Now loosen the filters carefully from the lid, then attach new filters and re-attach the lid.

IMPORTANT!

The vacuum cleaner must NEVER be used without an exhaust filter.

Cleaning the vacuum cleaner itself

The vacuum cleaner itself and the accessories can be wiped over with a moist cloth with a little added mild detergent. Remember to remove the plug from the power socket before cleaning the vacuum cleaner. Never use scouring powder or other abrasive cleaners which may scratch or dull the surface.

What do I do if...

• The vacuum cleaner will not start

- Remove the plug from the power socket and check if there is a visible defect to power cord or plug. If this is the case, the vacuum cleaner must be returned to the store where it was purchased for repair.

- Check if a mains fuse has blown. Replace the fuse if this is the case.

- In case the vacuum cleaner has been superheated, wait for an hour before using it again.

• The dust compartment door cannot be closed

- Check if the dust bag is placed correctly. If this is not the case, the bag must be reattached before the vacuum cleaner is activated.

• The vacuum cleaner has insufficient suction power

  • Check if the suction power regulation is set to the required suction power level. If this is not the case, adjust the suction power by means of the suction power regulation.
  • Check if the dust bag is full. Replace the dust bag if this is the case.
  • Check if the motor filter or the exhaust filters are dirty/clogged. If this is the case clean or replace the filter concerned or all.
  • Check if brush or tube is clogged. If this is the case, detach the clogged part/parts and remove clogging.
