2. Installation

1. Remove the packaging material completely. If there is a protective foil on the appliance, remove it completely, too. When the appliance is damaged, please contact the shop you purchased the appliance at.
2. Do not install the appliance near of sources of heat or moisture such as hobs or water containers.
3. The distance to TV-sets, radios and antennas should be more than 5 meters; otherwise interference may occur.
4. The back of the appliance must be aligned towards a wall.

5. Manufacturing residue or oil on the oven or heating element may release odours or smoke. These are normal operating conditions. Open the door of the room or a window for ventilation.

WARNING

3.1 Control panel

1 Setting of microwave power level/grill mode.

4 Press once: stop cooking. Press twice: reset.
5 Rotary knob for setting the cooking time and weight. Rotary knob for selecting an auto-cooking mode.

When you have plugged in the appliance, the display flashes three times. Then the clock indicates 1:00 and the colon : flashes. Now you can set the cooking menu and time.
When the appliance is plugged in, it has entered the stand-by mode.
The information After power up the colon flashes in the following schedules is only valid if you have unplugged the appliance before.

3.2 Auto-reminder

When cooking has finished, the display indicates End and you hear 3 beeps. The beep will continue every 3 minutes unless you press PAUSE/CANCEL once or open the door

3.4 Microwave-cooking

For cooking and heating food. Press the MICRO POWER.GRILL/COMBI -button; the display indicates 100P-80P-60P-40P-20P-G-C.1-C.2 cyclically.

G	Grill.	The heating element is activated while the appliance is operating. Suitable for thin slices of meat, sausages or chicken wings.

C2	Combination of grilling and microwave-cooking.	55 % of cooking time → microwave output, 45 % of cooking time → grilling.

CAUTION!

1. Do not operate the appliance when it is empty.
2. Do not use the grill rack while microwave-cooking.

3. When you have set maximum power, the appliance will decrease the power output after a certain period of time to ensure best operating life.

4. If you turn the food during operation, press the INSTANT/START button once to continue the preset cooking procedure.

5. If you want to take out the food before the preset time has elapsed, you must press the PAUSE/CANCEL button once to cancel the setting so it will not be activated accidentally when you start a new cooking menu.

Example: Cooking at 80P for 10 minutes.

It is recommended to turn the food halfway. After you turned the food, press INSTANT/START once to continue.

3.5 Instant cooking

In stand-by mode press the INSTANT/START-button. The appliance starts operating in high power level. The default cooking time is 1 minute. You can increase or decrease the cooking time with the WEIGHT/TIME-knob.

3.6 Defrosting

Press PRESET/CLOCK/DEFROST. The display d.1-d.2-d.3 cyclically.

d.1	Meat. Weight 0.1 to 2.0 kg.
d.2	Poultry. Weight 0.2 to 3.0 kg.
d.3	Seafood. Weight 0.1 to 0.9 kg.

1. Turn the food for proper defrosting.
2. To defrost food will need a longer period of time than to cook it.
3. The defrosting procedure is completed, when you can cut the food with a knife.
4. Microwaves penetrate most food by approx. 4 cm.
5. Consume defrosted food immediately. Do not put it in the fridge and do not refreeze it.

3.7 Auto-cooking mode

When the colon on the display flashes, turn the rotary knob anticlockwise. The display indicates A.1 to A.12 cyclically. Press the rotary knob to confirm your setting and set the weight of the food.

Select the relevant setting concerning kind and weight of the food. Strictly observe the advice given in the schedule below; otherwise you may seriously influence the cooking procedures.

1. When the appliance is in stand-by mode, enable the auto-cooking mode by turning the ROTARY KNOB in anticlockwise direction. If you turn the ROTARY KNOB in clockwise direction, the setting of the time will be activated.

2. The temperature of the food to be cooked should be 20^-25^ . Higher or lower temperatures will affect the duration of the cooking time.

3. Temperature, weight and shape of the food do influence the cooking procedure significantly. If you note differences from the above specified information, customize the cooking times for providing a better result.

3.8. Auto-start (delayed start)

If you do not want your setting to start immediately, you can set a cooking procedure and delayed starting time. This special function requires a 2-steps-setting: (1) the setting of the current time of the day and (2) the setting of the cooking procedure and cooking time.

Example: It is 12:30. You want to operate the appliance with 100P microwave power at 14:20 for 9 minutes and 30 seconds.

3.9 Multi-sequence-cooking

1. You can set a multi-sequence, if desired.

2. When the microwave-cooking period of time has elapsed, grilling starts automatically.

3. You can set a maximum of 4 sequences.

Example: 3 minutes cooking with 100P microwave power, then 9 minutes of grilling (2-sequences-setting).

3.10 Child lock

Use this function to lock the control panel, (a) when you clean the appliance or (b) to protect it from being operated by children without supervision.

Press and hold the PAUSE/CANCEL for 3 seconds to activate the child lock. Repeat operation for deactivation.

4. Microwave cooking

4.1 Basics of microwave cooking

1. Arrange your food carefully. Place thick pieces at the outer areas of your arrangement.
2. Consider the cooking times. Choose the shortest time available. If needed, add some more cooking time later. Any food, which is cooked too long in a microwave, can begin to fume or catch fire.
3. Cover food while it is cooking. Covering avoids splashes and enhances an even cooking procedure.
4. Turn over your food once while cooking it. Food like chicken or hamburgers will then cook faster. Larger pieces like roasts must be turned over at least once.
5. Rearrange food like meat-balls in the middle of the cooking time from the outer areas to the inner ones (and inversely) and also turn them over.
6. If you use browning dishes or containers which become hot, place a heat-resistant insulator such as a porcelain plate under them to protect the turntable and rotary ring from heat.
7. If you use microwave-safe plastic wrap, it must not contact the food as the wrap may melt.
8. Some microwave-safe plastic cookware might not be suitable for cooking food

with a high content of fat and sugar. Moreover, the preheating time specified in the dish instruction manual must not be exceeded.

4.2 Suitable cookware

1. Use microwave-safe cookware made of heat-resistant ceramic, glass or plastic only.
2. Do not use metal-made cookware or other metal-made items or plates with metal-made ornaments. Microwave radiation cannot penetrate metal.

5. Cleaning and maintenance

⚠ WARNING! Disconnect the appliance from the mains before you clean or maintain it.

1. Keep the inside of your appliance clean. When food splatters or spilled liquids are on the walls of your appliance, clean it with a damp cloth. Mild detergents may be used if the appliance has become very dirty. Avoid the use of sprays and other harsh cleaners as they may stain, streak or dull the door-surface.
2. Clean the outside with a damp cloth. Water should not run into the ventilation-openings to prevent damage to the operating parts inside the appliance.
3. Wipe both sides of the door and the window, the door seals and adjacent parts frequently using a damp cloth to remove any spills or spatters. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
4. The control panel should not become wet. Clean it with a soft and damp cloth. When cleaning the control panel, leave the door open so the appliance cannot be switched on accidentally.
5. If steam accumulates inside or around the outside of the door, wipe it with a soft cloth. This may occur when the appliance runs under high-humidity-conditions. It is a normal occurrence.
6. It is sometimes necessary to remove the turntable and/or rotating ring for cleaning. Wash the turntable/ring in warm soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly. When having removed the rotating ring from the appliance, you must reinstall it in its proper position.
7. 3 methods to remove odours from your appliance:
   a. Place several lemon slices in a cup. Heat with high power for 2 to 3 minutes.
   b. Place a cup of black tea in the oven. Heat with high power for 1 minute.
   c. Place some orange peels on a flat plate. Heat with high power for 1 minute.

Inspection of possible malfunctions

Please check the following before asking for repair:

a. Place one cup of water (approx. 150 ml) in a glass measure in the oven and close the door properly. The oven lamp should go off when the door is closed properly. Let the oven work for 1 min.

b. Does the oven lamp light?
c. Does the cooling fan work? (Put your hand over the ventilation openings at the back of the appliance.)
d. Does the turntable rotate? (The turntable can rotate clockwise or anticlockwise.)
e. Has the water become hot?

If NO is the answer to any of the above questions, please check your wall socket and the fuse in your fuse box.

If both the wall socket and the fuse are operating properly, please contact the shop you purchased the appliance at.

7. Waste management

1. While unpacking, the packaging materials (polythene bags, polystyrene pieces, etc.) should be kept away from children. CHOKING HAZARD!
2. Old and unused appliances must be send for disposal to the responsible recycling centre. Never expose to open flames.
3. Before you dispose of an old appliance, render it inoperative. Unplug the appliance and cut off the entire power cord. Dispose of the power cord and the plug immediately.

4. Dispose of any paper and cardboard into the corresponding containers.

5. Dispose of any plastics into the corresponding containers.

6. If suitable containers are not available at your residential area, dispose of these materials at a suitable municipal collection point for waste-recycling.

7. Receive more detailed information from your retailer or your municipal facilities.

8. Guarantee conditions

This appliance includes a 24-month guarantee for the consumer given by the manufacturer, dated from the day of purchase, referring to its flawless material-components and its faultless fabrication.

The consumer is accredited with both the dues of the guarantee given by the manufacturer and the vendor's guarantees. These are not restricted to the manufacturer's guarantee.

Any guarantee claim has to be made immediately after the detection and within 24 months after the delivery to the first ultimate vendee. The guarantee claim has to be verified by the vendee by submitting a proof of purchase including the date of purchase and/or the date of delivery.

The guarantee does not establish any entitlement to withdraw from the purchase contract or for a price reduction. Replaced components or exchanged appliances demise to us as our property.

The guarantee claim does not cover:

1. fragile components as plastic, glass or bulbs;
2. minor modifications of the Schaub-Lorenz-products concerning their authorized condition if they do not influence the utility value of the product;
3. damage caused by handling errors or false operation;
4. damage caused by aggressive environmental conditions, chemicals, detergents;
5. damage caused by non-professional installation and haulage;
6. damage caused by non common household use;
7. damages which have been caused outside the appliance by a Schaub-Lorenz-product unless a liability is forced by legal regulations.

The validity of the guarantee will be terminated if:

1. the prescriptions of the installation and operation of the appliance are not observed.

2. the appliance is repaired by a non-professional.

3. the appliance is damaged by the vendor, the installer or a third party.

4. the installation or the start-up is performed inappropriately.

5. the maintenance is inadequately or incorrectly performed.

6. the appliance is not used for its intended purpose.
7. the appliance is damaged by force majeur or natural disasters, including, but with not being limited to fires or explosions.

The guarantee claims neither extend the guarantee period nor initiate a new guarantee period. The geographical scope of the guarantee is limited with respect to appliances, which are purchased and used in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
