Frequently Asked Questions - SC-1 WR Maginon

How do I change the transmission channel on the camera?
Disconnect the camera from power. Remove the sealing cap covering the channel changer. Use a pin to set both dip switches to the desired channel (CH1, CH2, CH3, or CH4). Replace the cap and reconnect power.
What is the maximum number of cameras that can be used with the receiver?
Up to four surveillance cameras can be connected to the receiver, each must be set to a different channel (1-4).
How do I enable the automatic channel changing function?
Press the CH SELECT button on the receiver front repeatedly until the LED in the small indicating panel (L) lights up. The receiver will then cycle through all active camera channels at the interval set by the TIME SELECT switch (5, 10, 20, or 30 seconds).
What is the infrared range and when does it activate?
The infrared LEDs have a range of up to 18 m and activate automatically in low light conditions via a built-in brightness sensor.
Is the camera weatherproof?
Yes, the camera unit is rated IP65 (dust tight and protected against water jets). However, the receiver and AC adaptors are not water resistant and must be kept indoors.
What should I do if there is no video transmission?
Check that both camera and receiver are connected to power. Ensure the camera and receiver are within range (up to 100 m free field) and that the channel selected on the receiver matches the camera’s channel. Also verify the playback device input is correctly set.
How do I clean the surveillance camera?
Always disconnect power before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth for general surfaces. For the lens, use a slightly damp cloth that is well wrung out. Dry with a lint-free cloth. Do not use corrosive cleaners.
Can the receiver be used horizontally?
Yes, remove the foot (J) from the receiver to lay it horizontally for flexible placement.
What is the power consumption of the camera and receiver?
The camera uses 12 V DC at 0.5 A. The receiver uses 9–12 V DC (the included adaptor outputs 12 V). Both adaptors are model HL-120/0050-FA6S-EE.
How do I position the camera for optimal alignment?
Loosen the two wing nuts (N) on the stand slightly, adjust the camera to the desired angle while maintaining some tension, then retighten the wing nuts. Have a second person check the image on the display for best results.

5. Operation

Maginon SC-1 WR - Operation - 1

ote:

- The transmission frequencies of the surveillance camera and receiver have been factory preset. The surveillance camera transmits on the frequency of one of the available four reception channels of the receiver. After switch-on, the transmission channel of the used surveillance camera must be selected on the receiver. The transmission channel of the surveillance camera can be selected at the back of the receiver.

5.1. Operating and indicating elements

The front of the receiver contains two indicating panels (K) and (L) and a button (M) for changing the reception channels. The selected reception channel 1-4 is lit up in the indicating panel (K). The left LED (very left on page) is reception channel 1.

(K) (L) (M)

The automatic channel change function is active if the LED of the small indicating panel (L) is lit. By pressing the CH SELECT (M) button, the reception channels 1-4 are selected in sequence after which the automatic channel changing function is activated. By pressing the button again, the automatic channel changing function is switched off and reception channel 1 is displayed again.

5.2. Automatic channel changing function

The radio monitoring facility can be extended by a further three cameras. Each camera must transmit to another channel (1-4).

5.3. Infrared light

The surveillance camera automatically adjusts to surrounding light conditions. An integrated brightness sensor activates the infrared LED during dusk or darkness, which illuminates an area of 18 m in front of the camera. Images can thus also be transmitted in dark conditions.

5.4. Positioning of surveillance camera

Once images are transmitted, the surveillance camera can be positioned as required. Slightly loosen the two wing nuts (N) on the stand. Maintaining some tension facilitates alignment, as the camera is still being held in place. You can now move the surveillance camera in nearly all directions until the best possible position has been found.

Once positioned correctly, retighten wing nuts on stand.
