Notes about handling discs:
Handle the disc by its edge, do not touch the surface.
Do not stick any kind of object on the disc surface.

Clean the disc with a cleaning cloth. Wipe the disc from the center out. If soft cloth cannot wipe the dust, use a wet cloth, then use a dry cloth.

AV input/output and earphone connection

As per the picture, use the A/V cable to connect the player to a TV or other devices.
Turn on the portable DVD player and the other unit to which connection has been made. Press the DVD/DVBT/AV button on the portable DVD player or on the remote control to enter in A/V mode.
Note: The audio output only supports Analogue output. Use the AV cable in the accessory bag, connect the audio/video output on this unit to the corresponding Input on TV or stereo amplifier

【On/Off】
After connecting the AC adaptor, press the on/off button and the unit will turn on and switch to DVD mode.
【STOP】
When playing DVD, SVCD, VCD and CD disc, press the button once and the unit will memorize the current position. Press play/pause button and the unit will start from where you stop. Press stop button twice, the unit will stop and will lose the last memory.
【Play/pause】
When playing disc, press the button once to pause the current playback, Press once more to resume playback.
【SKIP】
When playing disc, press ◀◀ to play last chapter or title.
When playing disc, press ▶▶to play next chapter or title.
【Fast play】
When playing disc, press the button to fast play forward or backward.

Under fast play status, pressing [play/pause] will resume normal playback.
Basic playback
【Repeat】
This function activates "repeat one title only, one chapter, one track, or the whole disc". When playing a DVD, press the repeat button and the following display will appear:

【Mute】
Press MUTE once, the sound will be turned off and the LCD monitor will show Mute. Press once more, the volume will return. You can also resume the volume by volume button + -.
【Volume】
The volume can be adjusted by volume button +- or by the knob. Set the knob to max and then adjust with +/-.
【Number buttons】
When playing CD, DVD, SVCD, VCD discs, number buttons will be unavailable when PBC is on.) You can choose the track you want directly by number buttons. For example, if you want to play track 8, press 0 first then press 8, if you want track 18, press 1 first then press 8.

When playing a multi channel SVCD, VCD, CD disc, press the "audio" key to chose a different audio output. The following display will appear:

When playing a multi-language DVD, SVCD disc, press the "audio" key to chose the desired language. The following display will appear:

【Subtitle】
playing a Multi-Language disc, press the "SUBTITLE" key to chose a subtitle. The following display will appear.

【Menu】
when playing a SVCD, VCD2.0 disc, press the "MENU" BUTTON to activate/dissactivate the PBC function.
Basic playback

When playing back a DVD disc, press the "GOTO" key. The unit will display the search menu on the TV screen. See below picture.

Move the cursor keys to chose the desired function. Press "enter" key into searching status chose the desired items by number key.

LT/RT: when playing 5.1ch disc, the left output channel includes signal of entire left channel, partial center channel and left& right surrounding channels; the right channel includes signal of entire right channel, partial center channel and left&right surrounding channels.
Stereo: when playing 5.1ch disc, the left output channel includes signal of entire left channel and part of center channel, the right channel includes signal of entire right channel, part of center channel.

This option allows you to set the image sharpness and quality. you can choose among high, middle and low.

Setup this item to control the brightness of image, available range from -15 to +15.
Contrast

Saturation
Setup this item to control the saturation of image, available range from -9 to +9.

Preference setup

TV type:
This unit can work with all types of televisions or LCD's.
Select the TV system:
A.PAL
Hongkong, China and Europe use this type, when TV type doesn't match this setup, the screen will be in black strip state.
B.Auto
Select TV type automatically.
C.NTSC
Taiwan, Japan, USA etc use this type.
Audio, subtitle, disc menu language setup:
This function will only be available if the DVD disc contains the information Set the language and subtitles, if the disc contains such info playback will start from the desired mode. In the subtitle mode you can turn it off by choosing OFF option.
Parental:
The discs can be encoded based on the contents with a level from 1 (film for all) to 8 (film for adults). When a level is set, the unit can only play discs with the same or lower rating than the one preset. Default password to choose the level is 8806.
Password: it is possible to set a different password than default; if you want to change the password select "change" and insert default password, then insert the new one and confirm with OK; if you forgot the new password you can always use default one.

Default:
This functions will load the original factory settings.
The initial password of the unit is 8806, after changing the password, press Enter key to confirm.

USB connection

the USB port is active under DVD mode, to enter USB mode you can press USB button on remote control
The unit can support the following formats: MPEG2/MPEG4/Xvid/JPEG/MP3/WMA.
(Some files may not work as not all formats and codecs are included)
When using a USB stick or a HDD drive, make sure the format used is FAT32.
USB function
In order to use the USB device, the unit should be in "Stop" or "No disc" mode, Press the USB button on the DVD player. Theloading time of the files and the content will depend on the size of these, and the amount of files. After having loaded the file, use the Key arrow buttons to select the files and press the "Enter" button to confirm, If you want to stop the playback, press the USB button.

When you are in DVD mode, press DVD/DTV/AV key on remote control to switch to DVB mode.
1. First Time Installation
- When the Set Top Box is switched on for the first time, a Easy Install" page be displayed.

- Use the arrow keys ▲▼◀▶ to select the "Region" and "OSD Language".
- Move highlight to "Search" button and press "OK" to begin the channel scan.
- at the end of the scan you will be asked to choose the number to store the channels in conflict.
2. Volume Control
Use the "VOL+" and "VOL-" keys to increase or decrease the volume.

By pressing the "Mute" ☒ key, the audio will be turned off. Press the "Mute" ☒ again or press the Volume Keys to turn on the audio

3. Channel
Press "SETUP" to display main menu and enter channel menu. Press OK button to display channels' list.

TV Channel List: You can change the channel in different ways:

- Use the arrow keys "▲" or "▼" to navigate through the channel list. When you reach the channel you want to watch, Press "OK" key.
It is possible to change channels with CH+/CH- key or by inserting the numbers of the channel.
- The same procedure is for radio channels' list
- Recycle List: there are two folder to store deleted TV/Radio channels. You can restore or delete completely the channels here.
- Delete: delete favorite or all channels. Please note the channels can not be restore by this operation, but need reset or rescan. The code for delete all is "0000" or "3330"
- RENAME: it is possible to rename the desired groups.
4. Favorites Channel List
Create the Favorite Channel List
You can create up to 8 Favorite Channel groups.
Press "OK" key to display All "Channel List and" move to the desired channel.
Press "1 Edit" and "1 Favor" to make appear 8 Favorite channel groups.
Move to the desired group with CH+/- keys, press "OK" and assign the channel to that group.

Switch the All Channel List and Favorites Channel List
In the Channel List, press the "◀" or "▶" key to switch "All Channel List" and different "Favorites Channel List"
Switch between the different Favorites Channel List
Press the "FAV" key, a Favorites Channel Group List will be displayed for select.

5. Rename

In the "TV Channel List", press "1" to edit the channel.
Pressing number [5] key, it will show a "Rename" window and you can rename the highlighted channel Press [Up][Down][Left][Right] key to move the highlight in" Rename" window Press[OK]to inputchar Move the highlight to "ENTER" and press [OK] key to save the modification
Move the highlight to "ESC" and press [OK] key to cancel the operation.

6. Sort

In the "TV Channel List", press "3" to sort channel.
It will display a dialogue to confirm. If you select "Yes", it will display "Sort" box.
Press [Up] or [Right] key to move the highlight and press [OK] to select sort type such as Default/Name(A-Z)/Name(Z-A)/FTA/Lock.

7. Move

In the "TV Channel List", press "4" to move channel.
Press "4" and then pop up a message, input the channel No. you want to move, press OK to confirm.
If the No. input is existed already, the unit will pop up a warning message, and the existed channel will be instanded after press OK to confirm.
8. Recycle
In the "TV Channel List", press "1" to edit the channel
Press number [6] key, it will show a "Recycle" window, when a channel is deleted,
It will be saved in this window you can comb out it in this menu

9. Channel Scan
There are two different ways to scan channels, Auto Scan or Channel Scan.
In the Main Menu→Installation→Auto Scan, Move the highlight bar to "search" button. Press [OK] key to scan all the Channels, it is possible to proceed scan on all channels or only on" free" channels.

In Main Menu→Installation→Channel Scan, set the appropriate parameter. Move the highlight bar to "search" button. Press [OK] key to scan Channels.

10. Setup Menu
Press the "SETUP" key to activate the main menu. Select the "Setup" option and press the "OK" key to enter the System Setup.

OSD language: Change the OSD Language
TV system: Change the TV system: PAL/NTSC mode; 16:9/4:3 aspect ratio; video CVBS - LCN On/Off.
Region and Time: Setting the region and time
Timer Setting: for more information, refer to the next section.
OSD setting:
Subtitle display: set subtitles On/Off (the function must be supported by the TV channel)
OSD transparency: it is possible to set the OSD transparency from 10 to 50% or set to Off.
Load default OSD setting: press ENTER to return to default OSD settings.
BANNER DISPLAY: display time of the info bar
Parent Lock Setting:
Channels or Menu operations can be locked using password. The original password is "0000".
The universal password is "3330"

It is also possible to change the default password with a new one, in case you forgot the new password set you can insert again the default password.
11. Timer
In the main menu, under setup/setting, press OK to enter Timer settings and then Program Timer; you can set the desired options.

Program Timer:
In this section, it is possible to set up to max 8 timer which allows the unit automatically turn on and recording.
Timer Number: it is possible to set up to 8 timer
Timer Mode: it is possible to set timer (once - daily - weekly - monthly - off)
Timer Service: set TV service or Radio service
Wakeup Channel: set the channel you want the unit to turn it on and/or recording
Month: set the month
Date: set the date

Day: set the day of the week
Time: set the time
Auto Record: set ON/OFF
Record Duration: in recording mode set to ON set the duration, press OK and adjust the time with numeric buttons then press OK button again to confirm, press Exit to exit and save the inserted data.
Note: month, date, day are active based on Timer mode
12. Tools
Receiver info: technical data about the receiver
Game: there are two games (Snake, Othello)
Load default settings: insert the new password or default one and confirm to return to default settings.
Software Upgrade: the upgrade file will be available SD card only when the unit will need it.
13. EPG(Electronic Program Guide)
Press the "EPG" key to display all the information of the Channels.

The following operations can be used in the EPG menu:
Change: Press "2" to switch between program list and event list
Play Booking: Select the Event and Press "ENTER" to book for play
REC Booking: Select the Event and Press "REC" to book for record.
Booking List: Press "1" to display the booking list
14. Media Player
- When CARD disk is mounted, you can enter Main Menu→Media+→Media Player menu to play music, MP3 and WMA, video or browse pictures JPEG or watch the TV recording.

- In Main Menu → Media +→ Record Manage, the recorded video files are listed on the display. You can Lock, Delete or Rename the files or press [OK] key to play.
- In Main Menu→Media+→Storage Manager, you can see the info of SD CARD device.
- With MP3 files to adjust the volume, press audio button first and then set the level with CH+/- buttons For the Recording or Time shift functions, a CARD High Speed disk (FAT32) is needed. 1 hour video recording will need about 2Gbytes space. (The storage space is related to the program content.)

15. Recording and Timeshifting
An CARD disk is needed to record and to use the timeshifting function.
15.1. Recording
After pressing the [REC] key, the recording begins and a "REC" bar appears.

The default recording duration is 3 hours. When "REC" bar is displayed, press "REC" key twice, and a "Record Duration box" appears, and you can set the recording duration.
Press [OK] key again to confirm and then [EXIT] key to exit menu.
When "REC"Bar is displayed, press [EXIT] key then the "REC" bar will disappear. A "REC" icon is displayed on the up-left corner.
To stop the recording, Press [STOP] key and confirm with OK button.
While there is only one channel recording, you can watch another channel which is of the same MUX. Using Time Shift function it is possible to return back and watch the desired scene and the continue watching the postponed broadcast, you can simply pause the program and start watching it again later pressing Play.

This function needs a SD/MMC High Speed device inserted in the proper slot, the device should have about 2GB of free space.
When the function is active for few seconds, you can return back with Rew button to watch a particular scene or a goal of a football match, at the same time it is possible to fast forward with Fwd button to reach the real time of broadcasting program.

In the "Main Menu→Media+→PVR configuration" menu, you can set the following functions:

- Preferred Storage: SD partition (select the logic unit to store the datas)
- TimeShift Time (min): you can reserve the time of Timeshifting. From 10 to 60 minutes.
- Record Type:
"TS"→Transport Stream format(*.dvr). This format can only be played in Set Top Box.
"PS"→Program Stream format(*.mpg). This format can be played in your computer.
- TimeShift To Rec:
"On"→When you press "REC" key, the data in timeshift buffer will be stored in the recorded file.
