Frequently Asked Questions - ROVI HO70C Eldom

How do I assemble the wheels on my Eldom ROVI HO70C oil heater?
Lay the heater on its back on a soft surface. Attach the metal castor bases using the provided clamps and nuts as shown in the manual (Fig. 2). Then insert the castor wheels into the bases and tighten with the nuts. Ensure the bases are spaced as in the diagram (Fig. 1) before tightening.
What are the power settings and how do I select them?
The heater has two power switches: 'I' for 600 W, 'II' for 900 W. Pressing both gives a total of 1500 W. Select the desired setting with the rocker switches before adjusting the thermostat.
How does the thermostat work?
Turn the thermostat knob to your desired temperature. The heater will cycle on and off to maintain that temperature. The maximum temperature is reached when the knob is set to 'MAX' and both power switches are on.
What safety features does the ROVI HO70C have?
It has overheat protection that cuts power if the internal temperature gets too high, and a tip-over switch that shuts it off if the heater is knocked over. After activation, set the thermostat to MIN, unplug, let it cool, and eliminate the cause before restarting.
Can I use this heater in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. The manual explicitly states not to use it close to showers, tubs, washbasins, swimming pools, or outdoors. It is designed only for indoor residential use on dry floors.
How do I clean the oil heater?
Unplug the heater and let it cool completely. Wipe the enclosure with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or immerse the heater in water. Do not allow water to enter the ventilation openings.
Why does the heater turn off by itself during use?
This is likely due to the overheat protection activating. Possible causes: the heater is covered, ventilation is blocked, or it is too close to a wall or furniture. Set thermostat to MIN, unplug, remove the obstruction, let it cool for at least 10 minutes, then restart.
What should I do if I smell burning or see smoke?
Immediately unplug the heater from the mains. Do not use water. If safe, move the heater to a well-ventilated area away from flammable materials. Contact Eldom service or a qualified technician. Do not use until inspected.
Is the heater safe to use around children or pets?
The manual warns that the surface gets very hot during operation. Keep children and animals away from the device. Also, do not leave the heater unattended while on.
What is the warranty and what does it cover?
The warranty applies only to private household use, not professional use. It is void if the device is misused or damaged by improper operation. For repairs, contact an authorized service point listed on www.eldom.eu. Do not attempt to repair yourself.
