Frequently Asked Questions - EAPC10RC1 Emerson

How do I clean the air filter?
Turn off and unplug the unit. Remove the back grill panel by grasping the upper panel tab. Remove the filter, wash it with a solution of warm water and mild liquid dishwashing detergent, rinse thoroughly, and let it dry completely before reinstalling. Clean the filter every two weeks.
What does the P1 error code mean?
The P1 error indicates that the water collection tank inside the unit is full. You need to drain the tank. Refer to the 'Emptying the Water Collection Tank' section in the manual. After draining, the error should clear.
How do I set the timer to turn the unit on or off?
Press the TIMER button on the control panel or remote. The timer indicator will flash. Use the ▲/▼ buttons to set the delay (0.5-hour increments up to 10 hours, then 1-hour increments up to 24 hours). Wait 5 seconds to confirm. To cancel, press the TIMER button again.
How does Eco mode work?
In Eco mode, the fan continues to run for 3 minutes after the compressor shuts off, then cycles on for 90 seconds every 10 minutes until the room temperature rises above the set point. This saves energy. You can adjust fan speed and temperature.
How do I install the exhaust hose and window kit?
Extend the hose and connect the hose outlet and inlet collars. Insert the other end into the window outlet. Install the window slider kit in the window, adjust to fit, and secure with screws. Attach the hose to the back of the unit and screw it counterclockwise. Ensure proper sealing with foam seals.
What should I do if the remote control stops working?
Check the batteries (remove and replace with two new AAA 1.5V batteries). Ensure there are no obstacles between the remote and the unit (max distance 16 ft). If still not working, try resetting the unit by unplugging and plugging back in.
How do I use the continuous drainage feature?
Unscrew the drain cap of the continuous drain outlet. Connect one end of a garden hose (sold separately) to the outlet and lead the other end to a drain lower than the unit. Ensure the hose is on a downward angle. This is primarily for Dry mode.
How do I reset the filter indicator after cleaning?
After cleaning and reinstalling the filter, press and hold the 'Fan Speed' button on the control panel for 5 seconds until the filter indicator turns off.
What do the AS and ES error codes mean?
AS indicates a room temperature sensor failure. ES indicates a pipe temperature sensor failure. If either appears, unplug the unit and contact an authorized Emerson Quiet Kool service center.
How should I store the air conditioner during winter?
Drain the water collection tank completely. Remove and clean the filter, let it dry, then reinstall. Remove the batteries from the remote control. Store the unit in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Place a drip tray (not supplied) under the continuous drain outlet, then unscrew the drain cap to allow the condensate to flow into the drip tray. Replace the drain cap to the continuous drain outlet when no condensate flows out.

Place the drip tray under the bottom drain outlet, then remove the rubber stopper from the drain outlet, to allow the condensate to flow into the drip tray. Depending on the size of your drip tray, it may need to be emptied multiple times during this process. (Fig. 19) Replace the drain cap to the bottom drain outlet when no condensate flows out.

Note: To ensure all condensate residue has been removed, tilt the unit by lifting it slightly upwards from the front until no more condensate comes out from the drain outlet.

Clean your air conditioner occasionally to keep it looking like new. Be sure to unplug the unit before cleaning to prevent shock or fire hazards.

CLEANING THE UNIT

The cabinet and front may be dusted with an oil-free cloth or washed with a cloth dampened in a solution of warm water and mild liquid dishwashing detergent.

Never use harsh cleaners, wax or polish on the cabinet front. Be sure to wring excess water from the cloth before wiping around the controls. Excess water in or around the controls may cause damage to the air conditioner.

CLEANING THE FILTERS

To keep your air conditioner working efficiently, you should clean the filter every week of operation.

Grasp the upper panel tab to remove the back grill panel, the filter is located behind the grill (see illustration).

Wash the filter using liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water.

Rinse filter thoroughly and gently shake excess water from the filter.

Be sure filter is completely dry before replacing. The filter can also be cleaned by vacuuming the dust and debris.
