Why does the grill produce a smell when first used?
The initial smell is normal due to manufacturing residues. Ensure good ventilation and operate the grill empty for a few minutes to eliminate it.
Can I lock the cover during grilling?
No, the cover lock is only for storage. During use, the cover should not be locked; it automatically adjusts to food thickness.
How do I clean the cooking plates?
Unplug and let cool. Wipe with paper towels to remove grease, then clean with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sharp tools.
Can I wash the drip tray in the dishwasher?
The manual says the drip tray can be washed in warm water with washing liquid. It does not specify dishwasher safety; hand wash recommended.
What types of food can I grill?
You can grill sandwiches, meat, vegetables, and other foods suitable for a contact grill. Avoid metal foil and hard items that might damage the non-stick coating.
How do I store the grill?
Clean and let dry. Lock the cover using the lock, and store with the cord wrapped in the base compartment.
Why does the indicator light turn on and off during use?
The thermostat maintains the set temperature. The light cycles on and off as the heating element activates to keep the plates at the correct heat.
Can I use metal utensils on the cooking plates?

Is the grill suitable for outdoor use?
No, the appliance is for indoor household use only and should not be used outdoors or near water.
