Frequently Asked Questions - Compugilist FENDER

What type of power supply does the Compugilist require?
The Compugilist requires a 9VDC regulated adapter with a 5.5 x 2.1 mm barrel connector, center negative polarity. It draws 75 mA.
Can I use a battery with the Compugilist?
The manual does not mention a battery compartment; the Compugilist is designed to be powered via the DC power connector only. A 9VDC adapter is required.
How do I connect the Compugilist to my guitar and amp?
Connect your guitar to the Input Jack (high-impedance) and connect the Output Jack to your amplifier or the next pedal in your chain. Use standard 1/4" instrument cables.
What do the controls on the compressor side do?
The compressor side has Recovery (controls release time), Compression (amount of compression ratio), and Level (output volume). The G.R. LED lights up when gain reduction is active.
What does the Bass Boost switch do?
The Bass Boost switch adds low-end frequencies to your signal, giving you more bottom end when engaged.
How do I bypass the effects?
Each effect has its own footswitch. Press the Compressor Bypass Footswitch to toggle the compressor on/off, and the Distortion Bypass Footswitch for distortion. The corresponding LED lights when the effect is active.
What is the LED Kill Switch for?
The LED Kill Switch turns off the control knob illumination. This is useful for saving battery (if using a non-standard power source) or reducing light on a dark stage.
What instruments can I use with the Compugilist?
The high-impedance input is suitable for electric guitar, bass, acoustic guitars with pickups, keyboards, and other instruments with a standard 1/4" output.
How should I clean the Compugilist?
Unplug the power adapter first. Use a damp cloth to clean the exterior. Wait until the unit is completely dry before reconnecting power.
Is the Compugilist user-serviceable?
No, there are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel only to avoid damage or shock hazard.

COMPUGILIST

Thanks for purchasing Compugilist – a versatile new dual-effect unit based on two of our most popular pedals: The Bends Compressor and Pugilist Distortion. Both effects are independently switchable and feature straightforward controls. The Compressor offers Recovery, Compression and Level controls, with a Gain Reduction indicator light. The Distortion side offers familiar Gain, Tone and Level controls.

The Compugilist is a great way to get that classic "mastered" rock tone in a single pedal.

Distortion Bypass Footswitch & LED

Footswitch bypasses distortion effect. LED Illuminates when distortion effect is active.

Level (Distortion)

Gain

Controls amount of distortion added to signal.

Bass Boost

Boosts low-end frequencies.

Compressor Bypass Footswitch & LED

Footswitch bypasses compressor effect. LED Illuminates when compressor effect is active.

DC Power Connector

Standard center-negative 9VDC jack for use with appropriate power supplies.
