How do I set up the IB-CAM502-HD webcam?

Place the camera on your monitor using the clamp base. Plug the USB 2.0 Type-A cable into a computer USB port. The red power LED will light up. Wait about one minute for automatic driver installation. Then start any video application (e.g., Skype, Teams, Zoom) and select the camera in the app settings.

How do I use the AI auto-tracking function?

Press the ON/OFF AI tracking button on the webcam (item 3 on the device). The blue AI tracking LED will illuminate. The camera will automatically track your movements within a range of less than 3 meters.

What are the remote control functions?

The remote control allows you to: Increase/Decrease/Reset brightness, Turn camera left/right, Toggle AI tracking, Mirror the image, and Activate Privacy Mask (pauses video and audio).

My computer does not recognize the camera. What should I do?

Try plugging the USB cable into a different USB port. If that does not work, restart your computer. The camera should be recognized automatically after restart. Also ensure you have selected the correct USB 2.0 camera in your application's settings.

How do I select the webcam in Windows or macOS apps?

In Windows: Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera and allow apps to use the camera. Then in your app (e.g., Skype), select 'USB 2.0 Camera' as the video device. In macOS: Use Photo Booth or QuickTime, and from the Camera menu choose 'Full HD Camera (IB-CAM502-HD)'.

How should I clean the webcam?

What is the Privacy Mask function?

Pressing the Privacy Mask button on the remote control pauses both video and audio transmission. Press again to resume. This is useful during video conferences when you need to temporarily stop sharing.

How do I enable mirror mode?

Press the Mirroring button on the remote control. The screen will display a mirrored image, which is useful for activities like dance lessons or when you want a reversed view of yourself.

Can I use the webcam with an Android device?

Yes, you need a USB OTG adapter (USB Type-A to Type-C or Micro-B, not included). Connect the webcam via the adapter, then install an app that supports USB webcams (search for 'USB Webcam' on Google Play).

The remote control does not work. What can I do?

First, check if the battery needs replacing. Use only a CR2025L 3V lithium battery. When inserting, ensure the positive pole (+) faces upward. If it still does not work, the remote may be defective.

Usage

1. The IB-CAM502-HD features full Plug & Play support for Windows ^ and macOS ^ !

2. Place the camera in front of you at a position of your choice (using the clamp base at the top of a monitor is recommended)

1. Plug the USB 2.0 Type-A cable into a supported USB port of the host computer. The illuminated red power LED (4) on the front panel indicates power supply. Wait about one minute! The webcam will install automatically.

2. Start any application that accepts a USB video stream, such as Skype, Teams, Zoom, YouTube, and begin using your camera. By starting a supported application, the establishment of the connection is indicated by the lighting of the blue LED (1) on the front.

AI auto tracking

Effective auto-tracking with a range < 3 metres.

When you are standing in front of the webcam, switch on the function via the auto-tracking button (3). The illuminated blue LED (2) on the front indicates that the function is activated.

Once you are detected, the camera will automatically track you when you move.

Remote control functions

A. Increase brightness / decrease brightness / reset brightness

By changing the brightness via the remote control, you can improve the picture quality as desired for different requirements.

The reset button resets the settings to the default values.

B. Turn camera to the left / turn camera to the right

The webcam does not need to be rotated manually. The tracking function can be realised via remote control.

During meetings with several people, the device does not have to be rotated manually, but can be rotated to the left and right between different people via remote control.

C. AI tracking

You can also switch the tracking function on or off via the remote control. After switching on the function, the camera automatically tracks the moving person as described above.

D. Mirroring

The screen can be displayed in mirror mode, which is suitable for e.g. dance lessons and other special requirements, such as better recognition of portraits or objects.

E. Privacy mask

During a video conference, depending on the situation on site, you may just turn to privacy mask via remote control. This pauses both the video and audio transmission.

When the button is pressed again, the transmission will be reactivated.

Note:

The IB-CAM502-HD can be connected to or disconnected from the computer via USB cable without shutting down the computer.

Maybe the system will automatically install some of the required drivers once it is connected to your computer's USB Type-A port. If you receive any prompt, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

To use the camera's internal microphones, you will have to select them as a USB audio input in your application settings.

Important:

If the computer does not automatically recognise the camera once it is plugged in, try plugging it into a different USB port. If this does not work either, then restart the computer. This will cause the camera to be recognised in most cases.

Q: How do I know if my video calling application can use the webcam?

A: All video applications have an option setting to check the audio and video device. In the video application, check the following:

- Check the audio selection to ensure the USB 2.0 camera microphone is selected. If it is not, change the selection to the USB 2.0 camera.

- Check the video selection to ensure the USB 2.0 camera is selected. If it is not, change the selection to the USB 2.0 camera.

View camera on Windows®

Windows® 10 users can use the camera app, which is already installed with the operation system.

This will allow you to preview the camera image, capture still frames and video clips.

If you want to use the camera with other applications, you must activate the camera in the Windows® security settings.

• To begin, select the Start button, and then select Camera in the list of apps, or type "camera" in the search bar.
- If you want to use the camera within other apps, select the Start button, select Settings > Privacy > Camera, and then turn on "Let apps use my camera".
• From there, activate each of the listed apps in which you want to use the camera.

After you open the Camera app, you may need to switch to the Full HD Camera (IB-CAM502-HD).

Here is how to switch from one to another:

- Select Start > Camera > Change camera (button upper right).

When you can see an image from the camera:

• Select Photo or Video and take a photo or make a video.
• To view your new or already taken photo or video, select Start > Photos and then select the desired collection.

View camera on macOS®

macOS® users can use the Photo Booth app, which is already installed with the OS. This will allow you to preview the camera images, capture still frames and video clips.

While Photo Booth can be used to quickly preview the camera image, videos in higher quality using the full camera resolution should be created in iMovie or QuickTime, since Photo Booth does not use the full camera image.

As in Windows ^® , you may need to allow apps to be installed on your computer to access the camera in the macOS ^® security settings.

• To begin, select the Finder button, click Applications, and start Photo Booth.

If you want to use the camera within other apps, you will need to enable access in the macOS® Security & Privacy settings:

- Go to the Apple menu in the top left corner of the screen and choose System Preferences.

- Go to the "Security & Privacy" preference panel.

• Select the Privacy tab then choose Camera from the left side list.

- Locate the app(s) that you want to enable camera access for, and check the box alongside that app name to enable camera access for that application.

- To see an image from the camera in Photo Booth, you may need to select the camera from the list of attached devices in the app.

- At the top of your screen, click Camera in the app menu, and select the Full HD camera (IB-CAM502-HD) from the list of options.

When you can see an image from the camera:

• To capture images from the camera, click the red camera icon.

• To switch to video mode, click the film strip icon in the bottom left corner of the

app. The red camera icon will change to a video icon at which point you will be able to record a video.

Capture HD video with QuickTime player

QuickTime on macOS® offers a method for easily creating video recordings that use the full camera resolution.

• To begin, select the Finder button, click Applications, and start QuickTime Player.
• After QuickTime launches, click File > New Movie Recording.
- To select the camera input, click the small downward-facing arrow next to the round record button.
- Click the record button to capture a video.

View camera on Android ^™ .

• You will need a USB OTG (On-The-Go) adapter from USB Type-A to Type-C® or Micro-B, depending on the existing port on the Android™ device (not included).
• You will need an Android ^TM app that supports USB webcams (search for: USB Webcam).
  • After installing the app of your choice and connecting the camera via OTG adapter, you can use the camera via the app interface.

Caution

If the webcam becomes hot after running for a long time, we suggest that you stop using it for a while.

• Avoid touching the lens with fingers, sharp or coarse materials, and use a clean, soft cloth for cleaning.
• Do not use the camera in hot, cold, dusty or humid environments.
• Avoid dropping the camera, as impacts may cause damage to the lens, internal malfunction or scratches to the camera surfaces.
