Frequently Asked Questions - DPMX-1216 Eurolite

How do I set the DMX address for the dimmer pack?
Press the MENU button until DMX addr appears. Use UP/DOWN to select Block (single start address for all channels) or Single (individual address per channel). Press MENU to enter, then set the address(es) with UP/DOWN. Press ESC to exit.
What is the maximum load per channel?
Each channel can handle up to 3680 W (16 A max). The total load across all channels must not exceed 43470 W (189 A).
How can I use the dimmer pack without an external DMX controller?
Go to the Manual menu. Select All to set the same brightness for all channels, or Single to adjust each channel individually. Use UP/DOWN to set the value (0-100%). Note: Manual mode is disabled when a DMX signal is present.
What does the Preheat function do?
The Preheat function applies a low voltage (0-50%) to lamps continuously, reducing initial surge current and extending bulb life. It can be set for all channels or individually. It is not available in Switch mode.
How do I clean and maintain the dimmer pack?
Always disconnect the device from mains before cleaning. Use a soft, lint-free, damp cloth. Do not use alcohol or solvents. There are no user-serviceable parts inside; contact an authorized dealer for repairs.
What should I do if the DMX signal is lost?
The DMX Fail menu allows you to select a built-in program (1-12) that will run automatically when no DMX signal is received. You can also adjust the speed of the program (0.1-20 seconds).
Can I connect multiple dimmer packs together?
Yes, connect the DMX OUT of the first pack to the DMX IN of the next pack using a 3-pin XLR cable. Terminate the last pack with a 120 Ω resistor between pins 2 and 3 of the DMX OUT.
What is the difference between Linear and Switch curve modes?
In Linear mode, the output intensity follows the DMX control signal proportionally. In Switch mode, the channel acts like a relay: it turns on when the control signal reaches 50% or more, and off below 50%. Switch mode is ideal for non-dimable loads like fog machines.
How do I change a dimmer module?
First, disconnect the device from mains. Pull the module mounting holder to release the module. Slide out the old module and insert the new one, then press the holder back into place.
Can I use the dimmer pack with single-phase power?
Yes, but the three live wires (L1, L2, L3) must be short-circuited together. For three-phase operation, ensure the neutral wire is securely connected. The device must always be earthed.
