How do I switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit?

With the device off, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the display shows "°C" or "°F". Release the button to toggle.

What is the normal temperature range for this thermometer?

The thermometer measures from 32.0°C to 42.9°C. Normal body temperature is around 36.5°C to 37.5°C orally.

How long does it take to get a reading?

Typically 60 seconds. A beep will sound when the final temperature is reached.

How do I clean the thermometer?

Clean the tip with a soft cloth dampened with 70% isopropyl alcohol before and after each use. Do not immerse in water.

How do I replace the battery?

Slide off the battery compartment cover on the back. Remove the old battery and insert a new CR2032 with the positive side facing up. Replace the cover.

What does "Lo" or "Hi" on the display mean?

"Lo" means the measured temperature is below 32.0°C, and "Hi" means above 42.9°C. Check the probe placement and try again.

Can I use this thermometer for infants?

Yes, it is suitable for oral, rectal, or underarm use. For infants, rectal measurement is recommended for best accuracy.

Why does the thermometer turn off automatically?

The auto shut-off feature conserves battery life. It will turn off after approximately 10 minutes of inactivity.

Is this thermometer waterproof?

No, only the tip is water-resistant. The body should not be submerged. Clean with a damp cloth only.

How many readings can it store?

It stores the last 10 readings. Press the memory button to recall them.

Safety

• The thermometer must not be dismantled or modified in any way.
• The thermometer is not intended to be used as a reference thermometer and Clas Ohlson will not be held liable for any damage which may result from inaccurate readings.
• The battery should be removed from the thermometer if it is not to be used for an extended period, otherwise the battery might leak and damage the thermometer. Never leave a discharged battery in the battery compartment.
• The max and min values will be deleted when the battery is removed.
• The thermometer must never be subjected to shocks or impacts.

Note:

Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types.

Do not mix alkaline, regular or rechargeable batteries.

Care and maintenance

Clean the product using a lightly moistened cloth. Use only mild cleaning agents, never solvents or corrosive chemicals.

Installation

Main unit

1. Remove the battery cover (12) to access the battery compartment.
2. Insert 2 × AAA/LR03 batteries (sold separately) observing the polarity markings in the battery compartment.
3. Refit the battery cover.
4. Choose where the main unit is to be placed:
5. Standing on a flat surface using the table stand (13).
6. Hanging on a wall using the hanging slot (10).
7. Attached to a magnetic surface using the magnet inside the back cover.

Sensor

1. Slide the battery cover (16) down to access the battery compartment.
2. Insert 2 × AAA/LR03 batteries (sold separately) observing the polarity markings in the battery compartment.
3. Click the battery cover back into place.
4. Hang the sensor on a wall outside using the hanging slot (15).

Operating instructions

Temperature display

• The main unit should receive data from the sensor and display the temperature within 3 minutes of the batteries having been inserted in both devices.
  • Refer to the Troubleshooting section if there is a problem.

• Select the units, Celsius or Fahrenheit, using the [C/F] button (9).

• Press [ MAX/MIN ] (11) to display the maximum or minimum temperature. The display will return to displaying the current temperature after a few seconds.
• Hold [ MAX/MIN ] pressed down for a few seconds to clear the max/min temperature memory.

Temperature trend

The temperature trend symbol (2) shows an arrow which points in different directions depending on whether the latest temperature reading is higher or lower than previous readings.

• Arrow angled upwards = Temperature has risen
  • Horizontal arrow = No temperature change
• Arrow angled downwards = Temperature has fallen

Troubleshooting guide

The main unit doesn’t display anything.	Check the batteries in the main unit and sensor.
Temperature from outdoor sensor not displayed.	Check that the distance between the main unit and sensor does not exceed 30 m.Make sure that the devices are located at least 2 m from monitors and TV sets.Avoid placing the devices on or close to window frames made of metal.Avoid using electronic devices such as loudspeakers which operate at the same frequency (433 MHz), close to the devices.Check the batteries in the main unit and any connected sensors.Remove the batteries, wait awhile and then reinsert them.
Displayed temperature is incorrect.	Remove the batteries, wait awhile and then reinsert them.Make sure that the devices are not affected by heat sources or air-conditioning units and such.
