Frequently Asked Questions - HG08778 Ernesto

How do I clean the blender?
Disconnect the blender and rinse the jar, lid, and blade assembly under warm water immediately after use. All removable parts can be washed in the dishwasher on the top rack. Dry thoroughly before reassembling.
Can this blender crush ice?
Yes, the blender is designed for ice crushing. Use the pulse function in short bursts to avoid overloading the motor. Do not fill the jar more than half full with ice.
What is the maximum liquid capacity?
The maximum liquid capacity is 1.5 liters. Do not exceed the maximum fill line indicated on the jar to prevent spillage and motor strain.
How do I use the pulse function?
The pulse function gives short bursts of power for controlled blending. Press and hold the pulse button for a few seconds, then release. Repeat as needed for desired consistency.
What safety precautions should I follow?
Always ensure the blender is unplugged before cleaning or assembling. Never immerse the motor base in water. Keep hands and utensils away from moving blades. Use on a flat, dry surface.
What should I do if the motor stops during operation?
The motor may stop if overheated due to overload. Turn off the blender, unplug it, and let it cool for at least 15 minutes. Reduce the load or chop ingredients into smaller pieces before restarting.
Can I blend hot liquids?
No, do not blend hot liquids as steam pressure can cause the lid to blow off and result in burns. Allow hot ingredients to cool to room temperature before blending.
Are the parts dishwasher safe?
Yes, the jar, lid, and blade assembly are dishwasher safe. Place them on the top rack only. The motor base must not be placed in the dishwasher; wipe clean with a damp cloth.
Where can I find replacement parts?
Replacement parts such as jars, lids, and blade assemblies can be ordered from the Ernesto customer service website or through authorized retailers. Use only genuine parts for safety.
How should I store the blender?
Store the blender in a dry place with the lid off to allow ventilation. Keep the power cord loosely wrapped. Avoid stacking items on top of the blender to prevent damage.

Introduction

We congratulate you on the purchase of your new product. You have chosen a high quality product. Familiarise yourself with the product before using it for the first time. In addition, please carefully refer to the operating instructions and the safety advice below. Only use the product as instructed and only for the indicated field of application. Keep these instructions in a safe place. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.

Care and use

- Save energy! To avoid heat loss, choose a hotplate with a diameter that matches the diameter of the product.

■ Effective bottom diameter approx.:

  • 400434 (240 mm): ∅ 164 mm
  • 400435 (280 mm): ∅ 180 mm

■ Remove all labels from the product prior to use and rinse with clean water.

Before using the product for the first time, boil it out with water 2 to 3 times to completely remove all manufacturing residues.

■ Lightly grease the product.

- Do not overheat the product while empty or filled to prevent the non-stick effect from weakening due to damage to the coating.

Risk of overheating! When fat-free food comes in contact with non-oiled, overheated cookware, slight discolourations of the non-stick coating might occur due to the burning of proteins. Such discolourations are signs of wear and do not affect the quality of the coating and its fitness for use.

  • Heat up the food at a high / medium heat setting and then let it cook at a lower heat setting until ready.
  • Never leave the product unsupervised while the grease is warming: Overheated grease can ignite. Never attempt to extinguish grease fires with water! Smother the flames with a lid or a dense wool blanket.
  • Only use plastic or wooden kitchen utensils to prevent damaging the non-stick coating. Do not cut food directly in the product.
  • Do not add dripping wet meat to the product. Grease splatting onto a glowing hob can easily cause a fire.
The handle may heat during cooking. Use a pot holder or grill gloves for your protection.
The product is suitable for gas, electric, glass ceramic, induction and halogen cooker hobs.

Note for induction hobs: A noise may occur under certain conditions, resulting from the electromagnetic properties of the heat source and the product. This is totally normal and does not imply that your induction hob or your product is damaged. Place the product in the middle of the induction hotplate. ATTENTION! High heating-up rate! Do not overheat the product when preheating. The room must be aired out well, in the event the product overheats.

This product combines the benefits of aluminium cookware, such as low weight and high thermal conductivity, with the benefits of cooking with induction. To enable this, magnetic steel elements have been inserted in the aluminium base. Consequently the base is not magnetic throughout, so that on induction hobs that are significantly greater than the base diameter, it can happen that the induction coils do not react. This is not a quality defect and does not represent any impairment of the functionality. So that the product functions perfectly, always place it on the hob corresponding to the effective base diameter stated in this manual.

- High temperatures may discolour the exterior of the product. This does not indicate faulty material, nor does it impair the product's quality or function.

- Never hold the hot product under cold running water. The underside of the product may be damaged or fall off.

The product is suitable for keeping dishes warm inside the oven (max. 160 °C for 1 hour).
This product is suitable for dishwashers.
- Handwash with hot water and common washing-up liquid. Avoid using sharp or pointy objects or brushes to avoid damaging the material.
- Do not clean with harsh or abrasive cleaners.
- Frequently cleaning of the product with harsh cleaners may damage it and can cause discolouration.
- Aluminium pieces may discolour when placed in the dishwasher.
■ ATTENTION! RISK OF SCRATCHES! Do not move the product back and forth on glass-ceramic hobs! We recommend before cooking to wipe briefly the surface of the hob and the product bottom with a clean, lint-free cloth (e.g. microfibre) to reduce the risk of scratches.
- Food safe: This product does not affect the taste or odour of prepared foods.
- Never use the product if the handle is loose. Retighten the screw joint of the handle if necessary.
