How do I assemble the Seiki SC250FP food processor?

GENERAL SAFETY

Read this manual thoroughly before you start using the chopper.

Store this manual, the completed warranty card, your receipt and the product packaging.

The safety precautions instructions reduces the risk of fire, electric shock and injury when correctly complied to.

Please follow all instructions and take notice of all warnings.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Do not expose this product to rain or moisture.
• Do not temper or change or modify the product in any way.
• Only use Accessories outlined and recommended by the manufacturer.

• Please do not expose the product to splashing or water contact

• The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the product. Dry location use only.

• No naked flame source, such as candles, should be placed on the product.
• This appliance is not to be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensor or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction.

Children being supervised not to play with the appliance.

- Do not place the base of the mini chopper into water to wash it. This product is not waterproof and will damage the product if not handled correctly.

- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard

• Please beware that Dust could accumulate over time on the unit and cause it to generate heat and or deteriorate insulation, which in turn may result in an electrical fire.
• To maintain the product do not use any chemical or cleaning agent or wet cloth, please only ensure to utilize a dry cloth to wipe it down from marks or dust and only after unplugging the product from the power socket.

Before first use

• Unpack the product and accessories and ensure all parts of the product are undamaged and in good working order.
• Plastic wrapping can be a suffocation hazard for babies and young children, so ensure all packaging materials are out of their reach and disposed of safely.
• Unwind the power cord to its full length and inspect it for damage before each use. Do not use the product if it or its cord has been damaged or is not working properly. In case of damage, contact our after sales support line for advice on examination, repair or return of the damaged product.
• Ensure the product is not exposed to direct sunlight or placed near a heater or other heat source.

WARNING

• Make sure children do not use this product.
- When unscrewing the container from the Body from the bowl, make sure to place the base with the blades in a safe area, out of reach from person(s) or children.
The blades are sharp and will cause harm if not handled carefully.
• The Body of product is separate from the bowl with blades.

CAUTION!

• When processing a heavy load, do not run the appliance continuously for more than one minute at a time.
• Allow the motor to rest for 10 minutes after each one minute of operation.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

WARNING:

Bowl is NOT dishwasher safe. Please hand wash with mild warm water. No hot water or food must be placed inside the glass bowl above 50°C

BASIC OPERATION

Using the Compact Food Processor

• Place the motor unit on a level, clean and dry work surface.
• Make sure the ON/OFF switch at the back of the Food Processor is set to the OFF [O] position, the power supply is switched off at the outlet and the power plug is disconnected from the power outlet.
• Place the processing bowl over the motor shaft and turn the bowl slightly so it drops down into position on the motor unit. Then turn the bowl gently in a counterclockwise direction until it locks into position, as illustrated in Fig.1.

- For chopping/mixing/grinding ingredients: Place the chopping/mixing blade assembly onto the motor shaft, as illustrated in Fig.2. Take care, the blade is very sharp!

- For whisking ingredients: Place the whisking blade assembly onto the motor shaft, as illustrated in Fig.2.

- Put the food to be processed into the bowl.

- Place the processing lid on top of the processing bowl with the raised locking tab facing the release lever on the back of the motor unit, as illustrated in Fig.3. Then turn the lid in counterclockwise direction until it lid locks into place.

- Push the release lever on the back of the motor unit down onto the locking tab of the lid until it locks in place, as illustrated in Fig.4

NOTE: The Food Processor will not operate until the lid is in position and the release lever securely locked.

• Insert the power plug into an appropriate power outlet and switch the power on at the outlet. Then switch the ON/OFF switch at the back of the Compact Food Processor to the ON [1] position, as illustrated in Fig.5.
• Select the appropriate function button (CHOP or GRIND for use with the chopping/mixing blades, WHISK for use with the whisking blade) and press it down in short burst and start processing.

NOTE: During operation, add liquid ingredients through the two small holes in the indents on top of the processing lid.

• When you have finished processing your food, switch off the Food Processor at the back (see Fig.5) and disconnect it from the power supply.
• Press the lid release button (as illustrated in Fig.4) to unlock the release lever from the processing lid. Then slightly turn the lid clockwise until it unlocks and you can lift it off the processing bowl.
• Carefully turn the processing bowl clockwise until it unlocks, then lift the bowl upwards to remove.
• Remove the blades from the motor shaft by lifting the blade assembly upwards.
  • Take care when removing the blade assembly, the blades are very sharp!
• If required, use the provided storage lid for storing food in the processing bowl (see Fig.6).

TIPS

• Do not put too much food into the Food Processor and overload it.
• Refer to the quantity guide on the opposite page for guidance on appropriate types of food, quantities and processing times.
• Process larger quantities in batches; do not exceed recommended maximum quantities.
• When whisking cream, limit the quantity to 200ml.
• Cut larger food into small cubes of up to 2cm in size to ensure even chopping results.
• When chopping herbs, ensure they are as dry as possible.
• To avoid damage to the chopping/mixing blade, do not process or grind hard items such as frozen foods, ice, cereals, rice, hard spices or coffee beans.
• Do not process thin liquids such as water or milk.
• Do not operate the Food Processor continuously for more than one minute at any one time.
  • Always remove the blade assembly before pouring out food.
  • Always remove the stones from fruit and bones from meat before processing these ingredients to avoid damaging the chopping blades.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Cleaning the motor unit

• Always unplug the unit from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Wipe the motor unit over with a clean, damp cloth after each use.

WARNING!

• Never immerse the motor unit in water or wash it under running water.
• The chopping/mixing blade it is very sharp: take extreme care when handling it! To avoid accidental cuts, do not leave it soaking in water.

Cleaning the accessories

• All the accessories (bowl, lids, chopping blade and whisk) can be washed by hand in warm water with a soft cloth or sponge and a little washing-up detergent. Rinse and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
• It is not recommended to wash any parts of this appliance in dishwasher as exposure to harsh detergents and hot water temperatures will damage and shorten the life of the plastic parts.
• Do not use steel wool, scouring pads or abrasive cleaners as these will scratch surfaces.

Removing stains and odours

After processing foods that contain natural colour (such as carrots), soak any stained parts for about 5 minutes in a mixture of water (4 cups) and lemon juice ( 14 cup). This will also help remove odours from processing garlic or onions.

Storage

Make sure that your appliance and all its accessories are completely dry before putting them away. Store the appliance assembled, with the chopping/mixing blade in place in the bowl, in a cupboard out of reach of children. Do not store anything on top of the appliance.

Responsible disposal

At the end or its service life, unplug the unit and cut off the cord. Do not throw this appliance out with your household rubbish. Observe any local regulations regarding the disposal of electrical consumer goods and dispose of it appropriately for recycling. Contact your local authorities for advice on recycling facilities in your area.

Do not attempt to open and repair the unit yourself.

The motor will not start.The blade will not rotate. The food is chopped too finely, or watery.	The food is over-processed. Use brief pulses when processing, or process for a shorter time.
Food accumulates on the processing lid and at the side of the bowl.	You are probably processing too much food. Turn the appliance off and when the blade has stopped rotating, take off the lid and scrape your food off the lid and the sides of the bowl with a spatula. Reduce the quantity of food to be processed for subsequent batches.
Food sticks to the blade.	You are probably processing too much food. Turn the appliance off and when the blade has stopped rotating, take off the lid. Carefully remove the blade and scrape any food off the blade with a spatula. Then continue processing and use smaller amounts for subsequent batches.
