Frequently Asked Questions - KOHSPB 60603 KITCHENAID

How do I set the language and time on my KitchenAid KOHSPB 60603 oven?
When you first switch on the oven, turn the Browse knob to scroll through the available languages. Press the OK button to confirm your selection. Then, set the time by turning the Browse knob until the correct time appears and press OK.
How do I use the meat probe?
Insert the meat probe into the food and connect it to the oven's probe socket. Select a suitable function (e.g., Slow Cooking or Forced Air) and set the desired internal temperature. The oven will automatically stop when the probe reaches the set temperature.
What are the automatic cleaning cycles?
The oven has two pyrolytic cleaning cycles that heat the interior to about 500°C to burn off food residues. Select 'Automatic Cleaning' from the functions menu and follow the prompts. Make sure the oven is empty and the door locks during the cycle.
How do I use the Defrost function?
Turn the Function knob to 'Special Functions', then use the Browse knob to select 'Defrost'. Press OK to confirm. Place frozen food on a shelf at level 1 or 3. The fan circulates air to speed up defrosting without cooking.
Can I cook multiple dishes at once?
Yes, use the 'Forced Air' function which distributes heat evenly across multiple shelves. You can cook on levels 1, 3, 5 simultaneously (for example, using three shelves). Adjust cooking times as needed.
What is Fast Preheating?
Fast Preheating rapidly heats the oven to the selected temperature. Select 'Fast Preheating' from the functions menu, set the desired temperature, and press OK. Wait for the oven to signal it has reached the temperature before placing food inside.
How should I clean the oven?
For light cleaning, wipe the interior with a damp cloth after the oven has cooled. Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or steam cleaners. For heavy soil, use the pyrolytic cleaning cycle. The door seal and exterior can be cleaned with mild soap.
What should I do if an error code appears on the display?
If you see an 'F' followed by a number (e.g., F11), note the error code. Turn off the oven and disconnect it from the power for a few minutes, then restart. If the code persists, contact KitchenAid Customer Service with the error code, model, and assistance code found on the data plate.
Can I use aluminum foil in the oven?
Yes, but avoid covering the oven bottom or heating elements as it can affect heat distribution and cause damage. Use foil only on shelves or trays, and do not let it touch the oven walls or door.
How do I replace the oven lamp?
Ensure the oven is disconnected from the power supply. Remove the glass cover by turning it counterclockwise. Replace the bulb with a new one of the same type (usually 25-40W, high-temperature resistant). Screw the glass cover back on and reconnect power.
