◆ Transfer the distance between the mounting slots (13) on the back of the appliance to the wall.
◆ Mark the location of the mounting holes (14) on the wall.
◆ Drill a hole (ø 6 mm, approx. 35 mm deep) at each of the marked locations.
◆ Insert corresponding wall plugs into the holes.
◆ Insert suitable screws (6 x 50 mm) into the plugs.

◆ Gently push the plug into place.
◆ Connect the mains adaptor (11) to the mains.

Use

Charging the battery (fig. C)

The battery needs to be charged before first use and whenever it fails to produce sufficient power on jobs that were easily done before. When charging the battery for the first time, or after prolonged storage, it will only accept an 80% charge. After several charge and discharge cycles, the battery will attain full capacity. The battery may become warm while charging; this is normal and does not indicate a problem.

Warning! Do not charge the battery at ambient temperatures below 4 °C or above 40 °C. Recommended charging temperature: approx. 24 °C.

◆ To charge the battery (15), slide it into the receptacle (9).
◆ Check if the red charging indicator (8) lights up.

The battery will become warm while charging. After approx. 3 hours of charging, the battery will be sufficiently charged for use in regular applications. After approx. 6 hours of charging, the battery will be fully charged.

◆ Remove the battery from the receptacle.

Fitting and removing the battery

◆ To fit the battery (15), line it up with the receptacle (9). Slide the battery into the receptacle and push until the battery snaps into place.
◆ To remove the battery, push the release button (16) while at the same time pulling the battery out of the receptacle.

Operating the radio (fig. D)

◆ Turn the volume control (1) clockwise to switch the radio on.
◆ Turn the volume control (1) counterclockwise to switch the radio off.

Volume control

◆ Turn the volume control (1) to the desired level.

Mode selection

◆ Turn the mode selector (2) to the desired mode: AM or FM.

Frequency setting

◆ Turn the station selector (3) to the desired frequency setting, which is indicated by the pointer (17).

If the radio is in FM mode, the reception can be improved by extending the aerial (7) and rotating it to the direction that provides the best reception.

Battery operation

The radio may be operated on battery power. The running time depends on the battery type and voltage.

Maintenance

Your Black & Decker charger does not require any maintenance apart from regular cleaning.

Warning! Unplug the charger before cleaning it.
