Frequently Asked Questions - ZX3-60 ELECTRO-VOICE

What is the recommended amplifier power for the ZX3-60?
We recommend an amplifier delivering 400 to 800 watts RMS into 8 ohms per channel. Ensure the amplifier can handle the load and is not clipped.
Can the ZX3-60 be used outdoors?
Yes, with the optional ZX3-WRK weather-resistant kit, the speaker achieves IP55 protection. Without the kit, it is not weatherized.
How do I connect the speaker to an amplifier?
Use Neutrik Speakon NL4 connectors. The ZX3-60 has two NL4 connectors; pin 1+ and 1- are for the full-range signal. They are wired in parallel for daisy-chaining.
What is the coverage pattern of the ZX3-60?
It has a 60° x 60° coverage pattern. The horn is rotatable to allow either vertical or horizontal orientation.
Can I mount the ZX3-60 on a pole or tripod?
Yes, it has a 36 mm pole socket on the bottom for standard speaker stands. It also has M10 rigging points for flying.

What is the impedance of the ZX3-60?
The nominal impedance is 8 ohms. Multiple speakers can be paralleled, but ensure the total impedance does not fall below the amplifier's minimum rating.
Does the ZX3-60 have built-in protection?
Yes, it features DynaCord automatic protection circuit that reduces power if the speaker is overdriven, protecting the drivers from damage.
What is the maximum SPL of the ZX3-60?
