How to use the DO8715P contact grill for the first time?

Before first use, remove all packaging and stickers. Clean the plates with a damp cloth and dry them. Plug in the appliance and set the thermostat to the desired temperature. Let it heat for about 5 minutes. A slight emission of smoke is normal during first use.

Are the plates removable and dishwasher safe?

Yes, the cooking plates are removable. You can wash them by hand with soapy water or place them in the dishwasher. Make sure they are completely dry before putting them back.

How to adjust the cooking temperature?

The thermostat has 5 positions. Setting 1 is for gentle heat, 5 for maximum heat. For meats, use positions 3 to 5; for vegetables, positions 1 to 3. The heating indicator turns off when the temperature is reached.

What to do if food sticks to the plates?

Check that the plates are non-stick and that you are not using metal utensils that scratch the coating. Apply a thin layer of oil before cooking. If food still sticks, increase the temperature or extend the preheating time.

Is there an automatic safety shut-off?

Yes, the appliance is equipped with an automatic shut-off device in case of overheating. If the internal temperature becomes too high, the appliance turns off to prevent damage. Let it cool down and then it can be used again.

How to clean the drip tray?

The drip tray is removable. After cooling, remove it and empty the grease. Wash it with warm soapy water or in the dishwasher. Dry it thoroughly before putting it back.

Can I use the grill without oil?

Yes, thanks to the non-stick coating, the grill allows cooking without adding oil. However, for some foods like lean meats, a light film of oil can improve the result.

What is the ideal position to cook a steak?

For a rare steak, preheat the grill to position 5. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side. For medium, 4 minutes per side on position 4. Adjust according to your preference and thickness.

Can the appliance be left unattended while on?

No, never leave the appliance unattended while it is operating. Although it has safety features, it remains an electrical appliance. Unplug it after use.

When these failures occur the appliance will be repaired or replaced if necessary. The warranty will not be valid when the damage to the appliance is caused by wrong use, not following the instructions or repairs executed by a third party. The guarantee is issued with the original till receipt. All parts, which are subject to wear, are excluded from the warranty. If your device breaks down within the 2-year warranty period, you can return the device together with your receipt to the shop where you purchased it.

The guarantee on accessories and components that are liable to wear-and-tear is only 6 months.

The guarantee and responsibility of the supplier and manufacturer lapse automatically in the following cases:

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

• Remove all packing materials and carefully clean the appliance and accessories before first use (see Cleaning).
• Attention: when using the appliance for the first time, the baking trays may emit a small amount of smoke and odour. This is normal. Clean the appliance with absorbent paper or a clean, dry cloth to remove any residue.
• Apply a thin layer of vegetable oil to the baking tray. This will prevent sticking and cleaning after use will be easier.
• Place the unit preferably on a surface that is easy to clean. The surface should also be heat-resistant. Do not place the appliance on an untreated wooden surface.
  · Make sure that there is enough ventilation around the grill.
• Make sure that the grill is switched off. Plug into an earthed socket.

USE

1. Plug the power cord into a socket. Make sure that the cord is correctly inserted into the appliance. Turn on the appliance using the power switch.
2. Allow the appliance to warm up briefly before use.
3. Pour the pancake batter over the baking zones with the ladle.
4. Use the spatula to spread the batter over the plate.
5. Let the pancakes bake until they are cooked to your taste. Remove the pancakes with a wooden or heat-resistant plastic spatula or scraper, so as not to damage the non-stick coating.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Turn off the appliance by setting the switch to o. Unplug the appliance before cleaning. Allow the appliance to cool down completely.
• Wipe the appliance clean with a damp cloth. Make sure that no moisture or grease gets into the ventilation holes. Then dry it well.
• Clean the accessories in warm water with a mild detergent. Make sure the accessories are completely dry before reuse.
• Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents.
  · Never immerse the appliance, electrical cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.

PANCAKE BATTER RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

· 625 g self-rising flour
· 5 eggs
· 50 g sugar
· 500 ml milk
· 500 ml lukewarm water
· 5 tsp of vegetable oil
· 20 g fresh yeast
· A pinch of salt

PREPARATION

1. Put the self-rising flour in a bowl and make a well in the flour.
2. Add a pinch of salt and pour the oil into the well.
3. Mix the sugar with the milk in a measuring cup.
4. Dissolve the yeast in the water in another measuring cup.
5. Crack the eggs into the well in the flour.
6. Mix the ingredients and gradually add the milk and water until mixture is smooth.
