Frequently Asked Questions - KBR 88111 A2 Koenic

What is the correct temperature setting for my Koenic KBR 88111 A2 refrigerator?
The recommended temperature for the refrigerator compartment is between +2°C and +8°C. For the freezer, set it to -18°C. Use the thermostat dial inside the fridge to adjust.
Why is my refrigerator making unusual noises?
Normal operational sounds include clicking from the thermostat, humming from the compressor, and gurgling from the coolant. If you hear loud banging or continuous rattling, ensure the appliance is level and not contacting the wall.
How do I defrost the freezer compartment?
The freezer requires manual defrosting. Remove all food, unplug the fridge, and leave the door open. Place towels to catch water. Never use sharp tools to remove ice.
How can I change the door opening direction?
The door is reversible. Refer to the manual for step-by-step instructions. Generally, you need to remove the hinge covers, unscrew the hinges, and reattach them on the opposite side.
What should I do if the refrigerator is not cooling enough?
Check if the temperature is set correctly, ensure the door seals are clean and tight, avoid overloading, and allow air circulation around the back. Also, clean the condenser coils if dusty.
How often should I clean the refrigerator?
It's recommended to clean the interior with a mild detergent and warm water every 2-3 months. Wipe the door seals regularly. Clean the condenser coils at least once a year.
What is the energy consumption of the KBR 88111 A2?
The annual energy consumption is approximately 220 kWh, which corresponds to energy class E. Actual consumption depends on usage and settings.
Can I store hot food in the refrigerator?

Where can I find spare parts?
Spare parts can be ordered from authorized Koenic service centers or online. The model number KBR 88111 A2 is on the rating plate inside the refrigerator.
What is the warranty period for this refrigerator?

HINTS AND TIPS

Normal operating sounds

The following sounds are normal during operation:

  • A faint gurgling and bubbling sound from coils sound when refrigerant is pumped.
  • A whirring and pulsating sound from the compressor when refrigerant is pumped.
  • A sudden cracking noise from inside appliance caused by thermic dilatation (a natural and not dangerous physical phenomenon).

Hints for energy saving

  • Do not open the door frequently or leave it open longer than absolutely necessary.
  • If the ambient temperature is high and the Temperature Regulator is set to low temperature and the appliance is fully loaded, the compressor may run continuously, causing frost or ice on the evaporator. If this happens, set the

Temperature Regulator toward warmer settings to allow automatic defrosting and so a saving in electricity consumption.
