Turning on the device
- Before inserting the thermostat, make sure that the temperature control dial (11) is on OFF. Then connect the thermostat to the socket (7).
- When inserting the thermostat, make sure that it is properly connected to the device. The temperature control dial (11) should be facing upwards. An incorrectly inserted thermostat can result in personal injury or damages to the device.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
- Warning: Even when the temperature control dial (11) is on OFF, the pan could still remain very hot for a longer period of time. Always let the device cool down completely after use.
• The device is pre-heated when the red indicator light (10) on the thermostat goes out. - As soon as the temperature of the device is lower than the selected temperature, the thermostat turns on automatically and the red indicator light (10) goes on again. That way the temperature will be held constant. During operation, the indicator light (10) will periodically go on and off.
Operating the device
- Rub a little cooking oil onto the non-stick coated heating surface (12) before using it. Only put a thin layer of cooking oil on the heating surface.
- Pre-heat the pan for approx. 5-10 minutes. When the indicator light (10) goes out, then the pan is ready for use. While the pan is heating up, you can prepare the ingredients.
- The cooking time is dependent on the type of food, the amount as well as on your personal taste.
- Caution! Danger of burning: This device becomes very hot during use. In order to prevent hand burns caused by accidentally touching the hot surfaces, using pot holders or something similar is recommended.
- Once the food is cooked, it can also be kept hot. To do this, turn the temperature control dial (11) to MIN.
- Note: If noises (from the heating spiral/heating surface) can be heard during use, this is no reason for concern and does not mean the pan is defective.
• Use the glass lid (5) to steam food. - Caution: When lifting the glass lid (5) off of the pan, hot steam could be emitted. Therefore always lift the lid (5) slowly and carefully. Keep your hands and face at a safe distance.
- The heating surface (12) is non-stick coated and should thus never come into contact with metal cooking utensils. Metal utensils could damage the non-stick coating. Use utensils made of heat-resistant plastic or wood to turn and mix the food.
- After using the pan, turn the temperature control dial (11) to OFF and pull the power plug (9) out of the power outlet.
- Let the device cool down sufficiently in a location that is safely out of reach of children.
- Wait until the pan is completely cooled down before disconnecting the thermostat from the socket (7).
- Then clean the pan as described in the section CLEANING AND CARE.
