Information to the instructions for use
This booklet is to enable you to use the heating appliance in a safe and best possible way
Before using the appliance the first time, please read this booklet carefully
Do not throw this booklet away and keep it in a safe place. In case you pass this appliance on to another person, then please also hand this booklet on together with the appliance

Directions for correct use


WARNING!
To avoid overheating of the appliance, it must not be covered
For household use only
The appliance is suitable for additional heating during the in-between season, it is not constructed for continuous heating operation
Any use other than mentioned above does not comply with the directions for correct use and is strictly forbidden
Improper use
Improper use as mentioned below is strictly forbidden and might lead to malfunction, damage of the appliance or injury:
- Damage of the appliance by rain or dirt Never use or store the appliance outdoors
- Danger of overheating Always keep the air inlets and outlets of the appliance open, they must not be covered by towels or any other items
- The appliance must not be installed into vehicles and operated there, because concerning safety regulations for vehicles special components are required to fit such appliances (for example protected heating elements, more powerful motors, reinforced fixing of the components to withstand vibrations etc.)
- The use of this appliance in all kinds of vehicles (for example site trailers, lifts, caravans, cars, cabins) and similar, closed or blocked rooms is forbidden
- Caution: Do not use the appliance in damp rooms where bathtub, shower, washbasin or swimming pool area
- When installing the appliance please pay attention to the minimum clearance distance from objects (see table of contents)

- During use of the appliance the power supply cord must be completely unwound
- The power supply cord must not lie on the appliance when in use
- The appliance must not be placed right under a wall socket
- This appliance should not be used by persons (children included) with reduced physical, sensorial or mental power or due to lack of experience and/or knowledge unless a person being responsible for their safety looks after or instructed them how to use the appliance
- Keep an eye on children to make sure that they do not play with the appliance
- T he packaging foils must not be used for playing due to danger of suffocation
Electric current
- A wrong voltage may destroy the appliance. The appliance should only be connected provided the voltage indicated on the rating label is identical with the mains voltage of your household
- The power supply socket must be protected by a 16 A automatic circuit breaker
- Never dip the appliance into water or other liquids and keep it away from rain and wetness.
- Never touch the plug with wet hands
- When pulling out the plug from the power supply socket, please do no pull on the power supply cord but only on the plug
- The power supply cord must not be bent, squeezed or overran and must not come into contact with sources of heat
- In case the power supply cord is damaged, it has to be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorized after-sales service or a person with a similar qualification in order to avoid hazards
- Only use extension cords which are constructed for the power input of the appliance
Dispatch
- In order to avoid damage during transportation, please dispatch the appliance in the original packaging or a similar well padded packaging

Unpack the appliance and check whether the package contains all parts specified under “survey / parts and functions”
Sort the packaging material and dispose each kind of packaging material in the appropriate waste container In case of transport damage, please contact your dealer immediately

WARNING!
Never use a defective appliance


WARNING!
Before assembling the appliance please check whether the power supply cord is pulled out from the power supply socket. In case the mains plug is put in, the appliance might be switched on by an oversight and cause injury

WARNING!
Use the appliance only after the stands have been assembled

To assemble the stands delivered separately first unscrew the screw (1) on the right and left at the bottom of the appliance

The stand (4) is to be clicked into the recesses at the bottom of the appliance by using the fastening pins (2)

Now fasten both stands with the screws removed from the bottom

WARNING!
Make sure that the appliance is not operated near to furniture, curtains or any other inflammable items.
Pay attention to a minimum clearance distance from nearby objects, walls and ceilings according to the opposite sketch
This clearance distance is necessary to provide for a free air circulation
! CAUTION!
Make sure that the appliance is placed on an even, firm and dry surface
Connect the appliance to the mains supply
The appliance is now ready for operation
Operation
How to operate the appliance

1. Thermostat control (1)
With the thermostat control you can set the required room temperature
When switching on the appliance, first turn the thermostat control (1) clockwise to the maximum position
When the required room temperature is reached, then turn the control slowly back in an anticlockwise direction until you note a click
The required room temperature is now set and the heating appliance is switched off (pilot lamp(s) are off)
Should the room temperature drop below the required level, then the appliance is switched on again automatically
2. To set the heating output
To set the heating output there are three setting stages:
Switch (3) to set 750 watt operation
Switch (2) to set 1250 watt
Switch (2) and (3) to set 2000 watt
When the individual switching position is set, then the pilot lamp on the switch is on
3. Fan
The heating appliance is equipped with an installed fan
The on/off switching of the fan is done by a switch (4)
When the fan is switched on, then the pilot lamp on the switch (4) is on
4. Switching off the appliance
To switch off the appliance turn all switches (2), (3), (4) to the position „Off“ (all pilot lamps are off)

5. Frost guard setting
The heating appliance is equipped with a frost guard function keeping the temperature in a room with standard insulation automatically above the freezing point (0° Celsius)
Set the turning knob that way, that the position sign of the turning knob is face to face with the frost guard setting symbol (*)
! CAUTION!
The frost guard setting does not work in rooms for heating of which this appliance is not constructed
The heating appliances has a safety function, switching off the appliance automatically in case of overheating
After the appliance has cooled down, it is switched on again automatically
! CAUTION!
In case the above mentioned defect (overheating) happens repeatedly pull out the plug from the power supply socket and contact the service point of your country (see table of contents).
Cleaning and maintenance

WARNING!
Before cleaning switch off the appliance and pull out the mains plug from the power supply socket. Then let the appliance cool down
Cleaning
Only the surface of the housing should be cleaned regularly
Use a slightly moistened cloth for cleaning, however, never use scouring agent

WARNING!
Never clean the housing with cleansing chemicals (for example alcohol, benzine etc.). There is fire risk

CAUTION!
Heating appliances, which have not been used for a long period of time, need to be checked by a qualified technician before being used again or before each new heating period. This especially applies if the appliance is soiled inside

In case you are not able to eliminate one of the possible causes of defect mentioned below, switch off the appliance and pull out the mains plug from the power supply socket. Thus you avoid that the appliance is switched on by an oversight

Disposal

Dispose the appliance according to the environmental standards valid for your country
Electric waste must not be disposed together with rubbish. Take the appliance to be disposed to the authorized place of disposal
For advice of recycling please contact your local authorities or dealer
Valid in the Federal Republic of Germany.
We provide a warranty for the appliance subject to the following conditions:
- The Customer's main place of residence is in Germany and the appliance was bought from a dealer located in Germany.
- We undertake to repair the appliance free-of-charge, including free shipping) if it becomes defective due to a material or assembly error within 48 months (if used commercially or used for self-employed professional purposes) and if notification of the defect is given within the warranty period.
We grant a 5-year warranty on the motor of the appliance (subject to the regulations in section 3) for purchases for private use.
A pre-condition of our warranty is that the appliance is always treated properly. The warranty terms start on the date of purchase. - Parts subject to natural wear (e.g. drive belts, chargeable batteries, brushes, filters), do not fall under the terms of the warranty.
- The warranty will lapse if the appliance is modified or repaired by persons we have not authorised. Also, no third party spare parts or accessories may be used.
- The main focus of the warranty is on performing repairs or exchanging defective parts. Repairs on site can only be demanded for large stationary appliances.
When making a warranty claim, the invoice or purchase receipt from the dealer stating the date of purchase must be presented. - If a repair fails and the damage or defect cannot be rectified even after a second attempt, the appliance will be replaced with one of the same value. If neither repair nor replacement is possible, the customer is entitled to return the device and demand reimbursement of the purchase price. In the event that the appliance is exchanged or the purchase price reimbursed, a usage fee may be raised for the period that the appliance was in use.
- Warranty work does not extend the warranty period or mark the start of a new warranty period. The warranty term for installed spare parts ends at the same time as the warranty period for the whole appliance.
- The contractual and/or statutory regulations relating to the correction of faults is not affected by the provisions of the warranty.
Valid from 1st April 2008
