Frequently Asked Questions - Energy-230 Micro Vemer

How do I install the Energy-230 Micro energy meter?
Installation must be performed by a qualified operator following the wiring diagrams provided. Ensure a protection device against overcurrents is installed upstream, and a bipolar disconnection is present in the supply mains. Mount the device in a 1 DIN module enclosure.
What does the red LED indicate?
The red LED flashes at a rate of 2000 flashes per kWh of active energy consumed. Each flash corresponds to 0.5 Wh of energy passed through the meter.
How can I use the pulse output for remote monitoring?
Connect the pulse output to terminals 20 and 21. The output is an optoinsulated open-collector transistor. It provides 2000 pulses per kWh, with a minimum pulse duration of 30 ms. Supply voltage must be 18-27 V DC and max current 27 mA.
What is the accuracy class of this meter?
The Energy-230 Micro has an accuracy class 1 according to EN 62053-21, meaning it has a maximum permissible error of ±1% under reference conditions.
Can I reset the electromechanical counter?
No, the electromechanical counter is non-resettable. It displays cumulative energy consumption up to 99999.9 kWh. To reset, the device must be replaced.
What is the maximum current the meter can handle?
The meter can handle a maximum current (Imax) of 25 A continuously. The basic current (Ib) is 5 A. The starting current is ≤20 mA and minimum current is 25 mA.
What ambient conditions are allowed for operation?
Operating temperature range is -20°C to +50°C with 20% to 90% non-condensing humidity. Storage temperature is -25°C to +70°C. The device is rated for indoor use only with IP20 protection.
Why does the display show no digits?
Check that the supply voltage (230 V AC) is present and within tolerance. If the electromechanical counter is stuck or damaged, the device may need replacement by a qualified technician. Also verify the wiring is correct.
What safety precautions should I take during installation?
Ensure the device is disconnected from the power supply before touching terminals. Use appropriate overcurrent protection (e.g., circuit breaker) upstream. The installation must comply with overvoltage category III and pollution level 2 standards.
Is the Energy-230 Micro compatible with renewable energy systems?
Yes, the meter measures active energy in single-phase 230 V AC systems and can be used in grid-tied solar or wind installations provided the current does not exceed 25 A. Ensure proper wiring according to local regulations.
