Frequently Asked Questions - GTN38267GCW GRUNDIG

Why does the drying process take too long?
Possible causes: clogged lint filter pores (wash with warm water), blocked filter drawer (clean foam), blocked ventilation grids, insufficient room ventilation, lime deposits on dampness sensor (clean with vinegar), overloading (do not exceed 8 kg), or laundry not spun sufficiently (use higher spin speed in washing machine).
Laundry comes out wet at the end of drying. What should I do?
Check if the selected programme suits the fabric type. Ensure lint filter is clean and filter drawer is not blocked. Avoid overloading and spin laundry at a higher speed before drying. Remember that hot clothes may feel damper than they actually are.
The dryer does not switch on or the programme does not start.
Verify that the dryer is plugged in, the loading door is fully closed, a programme is selected, and the Start/Pause button is pressed. Also check if the Child Lock is activated (deactivate by pressing the Audio Warning/Child Lock button for 3 seconds).
Why is my dryer making unusual noises?
It is normal to hear metallic noise from the compressor and pumping noise when water is pumped to the tank. Ensure the dryer is level and balanced by adjusting the feet. Also check that no objects (e.g., coins, buttons) are inside the drum.
How do I empty the water tank and why does the water tank warning flash?
The water tank must be drained after each cycle. Pull out the tank, empty it, and replace it. If the water tank warning symbol flashes during a programme, the tank is full; drain it and press Start/Pause to resume. For direct water drain connection, the tank does not need emptying.
How often should I clean the lint filter and filter drawer?
Clean the lint filter after every drying cycle. The filter drawer (sponge) should be cleaned when the Filter Drawer Cleaning warning symbol lights up. Wash the sponge by hand, squeeze out excess water, and reinsert it correctly to avoid damage.
How do I activate or deactivate the Child Lock?
Press and hold the Audio Warning / Child Lock button for 3 seconds to activate or deactivate the Child Lock. When active, all buttons except On/Off/Cancel are disabled. The Child Lock symbol appears on the display.
What can I do to save energy when using the dryer?
Spin laundry at the highest possible speed in the washing machine. Sort laundry by type and thickness and dry similar items together. Do not overload the dryer. Clean the lint filter and filter drawer regularly. Avoid opening the door unnecessarily and ventilate the room.
Can I place the dryer on top of a washing machine?
Yes, provided you use an appropriate fixing device (available from Authorized Service). The total weight of both machines with full load can reach approx. 180 kg. Ensure the floor is solid. The washing machine must be placed below the dryer, not the other way around. Check the installation table for compatible depths.
What should I do if the loading door does not close properly?
Ensure there is no lint buildup on the door gasket or inner surface. Clean with a soft damp cloth. If the door still does not close, check the door lock for obstructions. Close the door firmly until you hear a locking sound. If the problem persists, contact Authorized Service.
