How do I adjust the flash power?

Use the Up Button (4) and Down Button (5) to adjust the power level from 1.0 to 3.0 (corresponding to 1/8 to 1/1 power). The setting is displayed on the LED panel. After reducing power from a high setting, press the Test Button to discharge residual power.

How does the modeling lamp work?

Press the Modeling Lamp Button (7) to toggle the lamp on/off. To adjust brightness, press and hold the button for 2 seconds to enter adjustment mode, then use Up/Down buttons to select from 9 levels (L1 to L9). The lamp auto-off after 2 hours to prevent overheating.

How can I trigger the flash wirelessly?

Use the optional FT-16 Remote Control set (sold separately). Insert the receiver into the Wireless Control Port (17) on the flash and the transmitter into the camera hot shoe. Then you can control power, modeling lamp, buzzer, and fire the flash from the camera or hand-held transmitter.

What is the anti-preflash function?

The Anti-preflash mode (slave trigger indicator glows red) ignores a single preflash from a master flash and only fires on the second, actual flash. This allows synchronization with cameras that use a preflash system, such as TTL flashes.

How do I replace the flash tube?

Turn off power and unplug. Wear insulated gloves. Loosen the iron wire on the tube, gently pull out the old tube by its two feet. Transfer the feet casing to the new tube. Align the new tube's feet with the two copper outlets and push in. Secure the tube by twisting the iron wire around the stainless steel sheet.

How do I clean the flash?

Regularly dedust the lamp and body with a soft, dry cloth. Disconnect power before cleaning. Avoid using liquids or abrasive materials. For internal maintenance, contact authorized service center.

What accessories are compatible with the E250?

Compatible accessories include FT-16 Remote Control, Power Inverter, Softbox, Photographic Umbrella, Light Stand, Barndoor, and Snoot. These are sold separately.

Why does the modeling lamp turn off automatically?

The modeling lamp automatically turns off after 2 hours of continuous use to prevent overheating and fire hazard, especially when flammable accessories like softboxes are attached. It is recommended to cool down for 1 minute after 10 minutes of use.

How do I use the slave trigger?

Press the Slave Model Button (6) to cycle through three modes: 1) No optical control (indicator off), 2) One fire (blue indicator) – fires with any master flash, 3) Anti-preflash (red indicator) – ignores preflash. The flash will then fire synchronously with a master flash.

What should I do if the flash overheats?

After 30 continuous flashes at full power, allow the flash to cool for 3 minutes. Avoid using the modeling lamp for extended periods with flammable accessories. If overheating occurs, turn off the unit and let it cool down in a ventilated area. Do not touch hot parts.

FOREWORD

Thanks for choosing E series studio flash.

It is a lightweight, compact and durable flash with complete functions. Design for shooting studio portrait and e-commerce product. This product is suitable for head shot, waist shoot, and certificate photography, as well as product shooting, etc. It can also offer high light, background light, or hair light in large studios and workshops. The E series flash offers:

• Precise output displayed on LED panel, 20 steps from 1.0 to 3.0 in 0.1 increments
• Use optional FT-16 trigger to control the flash power ratio, modeling lamp and buzzer, as well as flash triggering
• 75W modeling lamp adjusts in 9 power levels
  • Outstanding output stability, no more than 2% shifts when under the same output

Warning

Do not disassemble or modify. Should the product break down, send the defective back to the authorized service center for inspection and maintenance.
▲ Keep dry. Do not handle with wet hands, immerse in water, or expose to rain.
▲ Keep out of reach of children.
▲ Please put the device in a ventilation environment and keep the parts of lighting and heat dissipation holes are unobstructed. Do not use in flammable environment.
As this product adopts make and break device, please keep it easy to be used.
▲ No touching the heating parts of this product.
▲ Please turn off the power and wear insulated gloves before installing and connecting accessories. When replacing the tube or modeling lamp, please make sure that the tube is cool and wear insulated gloves to prevent burns.
Do not flash directly towards naked eyes (especially those of babies), otherwise it may lead to visual impairment.
▲ Disconnect from the power supply when it will not be used for an extended period.

CAUTION

After 30 continuous flashes at full power, the flash should be cooled down for about 3 minutes. Overheating will occur if it is used continuously without cooling down.
Do not keep using the modeling lamp for a long time; otherwise flammable accessories attaching to flash head, e.g. softbox will get burnt. A 10-minute time is recommended in this case. After 10 minutes, cool it down for 1 minute.
When using a snoot, do not keep the modeling lamp on for a long time or fire too frequently (not over six times for one minute). Overheating will result in damages for strobe housing and/or studio light.
Avoid sudden impacts as this can damage the flash tube and/or modeling lamp.

OPERATIONS

- Flash Preparation

Attach the flash unit on an appropriate light stand. Adjust the Mounting Bracket (18) for a good angle and make sure it's tightened and fixed. Use the Direction

Adjusting Handle (20) to adjust the flash to a desired direction.

Umbrella Input (19) is for different photo umbrellas to put in.

• Power Connection

Use the power cord to connect the flash to an AC power source and turn on the Power Switch (3). The Digital Display (10) lights up, indicating it's connected.

- Modeling Lamp

Each press on the Modeling Lamp Button (7) will turn the modeling lamp on or off. When the Modeling Lamp Indicator (12) lights up, the lamp is on; if not, the lamp is off.

Press the Modeling Lamp Button (7) and hold for at least 2 seconds to enter the brightness adjusting mode. In this mode, use the Up Button (4) and Down Button (5) to change the output. The modeling lamp can be adjusted in 9 levels (from the lowest L1 to the highest L9).

The modeling lamp will be off automatically after lighting for 2 hours, avoiding overheat due to long-time lighting when the user is not nearby.

When there is flammable accessory on the flash unit, do not keep the modeling lamp on for a long time. It is recommended to cool it down for one minute after 10 minutes' working.

• Power Output Control

Use the Up Button (4) and Down Button (5) to adjust the power level, so as to satisfy light requirements in different environment. The power is adjustable freely from 1.0 to 3.0 which will be accordingly shown on the Digital Display (10). "OF" on the display indicates that the flash triggering function is turned off. Pressing Test Button to discharge power is required after adjusting power from high to low.

- Test Button

To fire the flash without taking a picture, press the Test Button (9). It can also help adjust the flash brightness when combined with the Up Button (4) and Down Button (5).

- Sync Triggering

The Sync Cord Jack (2) is a 3.50mm plug. Insert a trigger plug here and the flash will be fired synchronously with the camera shutter.

- Slave Trigger Model

Three slave triggering models are available and can be set by pressing Slave Model Button (6). 1) No optical control: The Slave Triggering Indicator (11) is off, indicating the slave triggering function is shut down.
2) One fire model: The Slave Triggering Indicator (11) glows blue, indicating the flash will fire synchronously when the master flash fires. In this model, the flash can function as a slave flash, offering various effects of light and shadow.
3) Anti-preflash model: The Slave Triggering Indicator (11) glows red, indicating the flash will ignore a single "preflash" from the master flash and will only fire in response to the second, actual flash from the master. In this model, the flash can function as a slave flash. It is applicable when using a TTL master flash. With this anti-preflash function, synchronization is

supported with cameras having a one-preflash firing system.

- Buzz Function

The Buzz Button (8) is used to decide whether there is sound reminder for ready flash after recharging. When the Buzz Indicator (12) is on, it means buzz function is working; if it is off, the buzz function is shut down. A "BI" sound will be heard when it's fully charged.

- Memory Function

The device is equipped with memory function for the panel setting. It will help remember the panel setting 3 seconds after you set it. When starting up the flash next time, the panel setting will be the same as that before powering it off.

- Wireless Control Function

The flash unit is built in with a Wireless Control Port (17) so that you can wirelessly control the on-and-off of your flash, modeling lamp and buzzer, as well as adjust the flash output level, etc.

To control the flash wirelessly, you need a FT series remote control set (on-camera and on-flash), which is sold separately. Insert its receive end into the Wireless Control Port (17) on the flash and insert the transmit end into the camera hot shoe. Settings made on the hotshoe-mounted transmit and receive ends will be wirelessly communicated to the flash. Then you can press the camera shutter-release button to trigger the flash. You can also hold the transmit end at hand to control your flash.

- Tube Replacement

Shut down the power and remove the power cord before replacing the flash tube and wear insulated gloves. Then, loosen the iron wire on the tube, keep a balanced hold on the two feet of the flash tube and pull out the old tube gently. Take down the feet casing from the old tube and put it on the new one. Hold two feet of the new tube, and target directly towards the two copper outlets, then push them slightly in. Twine the iron wire on the stainless steel sheet to fix the flash tube.

MAINTENANCE

• Shut down the device immediately when it works abnormally and find out the reason.
• Avoid sudden impacts and the lamp should be dedusted regularly.
• It is normal for the lamp to be warm when in use. Avoid continuous flashes if unnecessary.
• Maintenance of the flash must be performed by our authorized maintenance department which can provide original accessories. The flash-tube and the modeling lamp are user-replaceable. Replacement tubes and lamps can be obtained from the manufacturer.
• This product, except consumables e.g. flash tube and modeling lamp, is supported with a one-year warranty.
  • Unauthorized service will void the warranty.
• If the product had failures or was wetted, do not use it until it is repaired by professionals.
• Disconnect the power when cleaning the flash or when changing the flash tube / modeling lamp.
• Changes made to the specifications or designs may not be reflected in this manual.
