How do I start the engine?

Rest the scooter on its centre stand, set the ignition switch to ON, keep at least one brake lever applied, and press the starter button. Ensure the engine cut-off switch is in RUN position.

What type of fuel should I use?

Use unleaded premium petrol with a minimum octane rating of 95 (NORM) or 85 (NOMM). Do not fill the tank to the top as fuel expands in heat.

How do I check the engine oil level?

Park the scooter on its centre stand, let the engine cool. Unscrew the dipstick, wipe it, reinsert fully, then remove and read the level. Keep between MIN and MAX marks.

What is the correct tyre pressure?

For rider only: front 2.2 bar (32 psi), rear 2.2 bar (32 psi). For rider and passenger: front 2.2 bar, rear 2.3 bar (33 psi). Check when tyres are cold.

How do I check the brake fluid level?

With the scooter on its centre stand, turn the handlebar so the reservoir is level. The fluid should be above the MIN mark on the sight glass. If low, top up with DOT 4+ brake fluid.

How do I replace a blown fuse?

Remove the battery cover, extract the faulty fuse, check if the filament is broken, and replace with a fuse of the same amperage (15A, 30A, 3A, etc.). Do not use a higher rating.

How do I adjust the rear shock absorbers?

Use the hook spanner (supplied in tool kit) on the ring nut to adjust preload. Set both shock absorbers to the same position for balanced handling. The standard setting is for a 70 kg rider.

What is the correct spark plug gap?

The spark plug electrode gap should be between 0.7 and 0.8 mm. Tightening torque is 12-14 Nm (1.2-1.4 kgm). Use only the recommended spark plug type.

How do I clean the air filter?

Remove the filter housing cover (9 screws), take out the filtering element, clean it with compressed air only. Do not use petrol or solvents. Do not oil the element.

What does the red oil pressure warning light indicate?

If the light turns on while the engine is running, it means oil pressure is insufficient. Stop the engine immediately and contact an official Aprilia dealer to avoid engine damage.

Fuel tank

CARRY OUT REFILLING AND MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS IN A WELL VENTILATED PLACE AND WITH THE ENGINE OFF.

DO NOT SMOKE WHILE REFUELLING OR WHEN CLOSE TO FUEL VAPOURS, AVOID CONTACT WITH NAKED FLAMES, SPARKS OR ANY OTHER SOURCE THAT MAY CAUSE FUEL TO CATCH FIRE OR EXPLODE.

AVOID SPILLING FUEL OFF THE FILLER AS IT MAY CATCH FIRE IN CONTACT WITH THE ENGINE HOT SURFACES. IN CASE OF ACCIDENTAL FUEL SPILLS, CHECK THAT THE AREA IS COMPLETELY DRY BEFORE STARTING THE VEHICLE.

FUEL EXPANDS WHEN EXPOSED TO HEAT OR SUN RAYS, THEREFORE BE CAREFUL AND DO NOT REFILL THE TANK UP TO THE TOP.

• Check that the spark plug electrode and centre porcelain are free of carbon deposits or signs of corrosion. If necessary, clean using suitable spark plug cleaners, a wire and/or metal brush.
• Blow with a strong air blast to avoid removed dirt getting into the engine. Replace the spark plug if there are cracks on the spark plug insulating material, corroded electrodes or large deposits.
• Check electrode gap with a thickness gauge and adjust if necessary by carefully bending the earth elec-

In the front headlight there are:

• One high-beam light bulb "1".
• One low-beam light bulb "2".
• One tail light bulb "3".

To replace low-/high-beam light bulbs:

• Unscrew and remove the lower screw "4".
• Remove the front headlight ring nut.
• Remove the headlight upper lock.
• Unscrew and remove the two head-light fixing screws.
  • Take the headlight off the two lower bolts.

• Disconnect the connector and remove the headlight.

• Slide off the rubber protection

• Turn the bulb holder clockwise and take it out of the parabole seat.
• Extract the bulb.

When refitting:

• Place the bulb holder in its parabole seat and turn it clockwise.
• Connect the bulb electrical connector.

INSERT THE BULB IN THE PARABOLE SEAT SO THAT THE TWO NOTCHES ON THE BULB COINCIDE WITH THEIR GUIDES ON THE BULB HOLDER.
