Niche can be installed with a variety of products - JETCOAT® Shower Wall System or Tile.

COORDINATE WITH JETCOAT® SHOWER WALL SYSTEM

CRAFT+MAIN® Shower Niches have been designed for easy installation with JETCOAT® Shower Wall Systems - CORE / FLEX™/ REFLECTIONS™ - requiring only minimal vertical or horizontal cuts of the shower wall panels. The Niche gives the ability to customize the look of JETCOAT® Shower Walls, as well as, for tile installations.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate or install the product. We recommend installation performed by a professional.

PREPARATION

Remove niche from packaging and inspect condition.

Tools Required for Assembly (not included): Utility knife, jig saw, measuring tape and safety glasses.

Supplies Required for Assembly (Not Included): Silicone.

1. Check for stud locations and determine desired placement for niche installation.
2. If needed, turn off any electrical or water supply.
3. All plumbing and electrical work inside the walls must be finished prior to installation.
4. When making cut out, make sure to cut lines that are level and square.
5. The mounting surface should be cleaned prior to installation of the niche.

CAULKING TIPS:

• Follow the instructions on the tube of your chosen caulk.
• Once you have completed the project, inspect all areas that have been caulked, filling in any gaps as needed.
• Remove any excess caulk using denatured alcohol and a clean cloth. Use caution.

- Regular Cleaning: Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner to wipe down the niche regularly.

DO NOT use any steel wool or abrasive scouring pads to clean niche, as they can damage the surface.

- Soap Residue Removal:
Soap residues may accumulate over time. Clean with a mixture of warm water and mild soap.
Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry with a soft cloth to prevent water stains and mineral deposits.

- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the surface.

- Avoid Impact: Be cautious when placing or removing items from the niche to prevent impact damage.

- Avoid Sharp Objects: Refrain from using sharp objects or tools near the niche to prevent scratches.

- Sealant Maintenance: If your niche has a sealant, periodically check for any signs of wear or damage. Reapply as needed.

STEP 1: HOW TO MEASURE

While locating wall studs, determine the approximate installation location.

Measure for opening (X) and (Y) (between studs if possible).

Measure outside edge of niche, minus 34 inch, equals (X). Repeat for (Y) measurement.

Complete JETCOAT ^® Shower Wall System installation prior to niche installation.

STEP 2: CUT OPENING AND CHECK FITMENT

Mark (X) and (Y) measurements and make cuts.

Check niche fitment prior to adding any bracing or silicone. Niche fitment must have minimal resistance within the cavity to prevent the niche from shifting.

STEP 3: ADD FRAMING SUPPORT

Install and secure inside wall frame to support the niche.

This will provide support for both inside of the wall and the niche.

NOTE:

Complete tile installation prior to niche installation.

STEP 4: WATERPROOFING

Apply silicone on inside flange and side walls of niche, as shown in the illustration, for optimal seal installation.

NOTE: TILE APPLICATION Tile installation complete prior to niche installation.

STEP 5: FINAL INSTALLATION

Insert the niche into the wall cavity and press firmly.

STEP 6: FINISHING

Once the niche is set into place, silicone the outside edge for added watertight protection.

If needed, use painters' tape to hold into place.

Let dry for 24 hours before shower usage.
