Frequently Asked Questions - Baby Devoro 4019828 American Standard

Why doesn't the water flush?
Check that the water supply is on, the supply hose is not blocked, the flush valve chain is not loose or disconnected, and there is no sand or debris in the flow regulator. Refer to the troubleshooting guide in the manual.
How to adjust the water level in the tank?
Turn the water level adjustment knob located in the float cup. The level should match the mark indicated on the tank.
What to do in case of water leakage from the toilet?
Check the supply hose connections and the bowl installation on the floor. If the leak comes from the tank, the flush valve may be worn or misaligned.
How to maintain the toilet to avoid damage?
Clean with water and mild soap, rinse thoroughly and wipe with a soft cloth. Never use abrasive scouring powder, abrasive pads or cleaners containing chlorine inside the tank.
How to install the toilet correctly?
Follow the steps in the manual: remove the old toilet, clean the surface, install the toilet bolts, place the wax ring, set the toilet on the flange, tighten the nuts without overtightening, then install the tank and the seat.
Why is the flush weak or sluggish?
Check the water level in the bowl, the supply valve (must be fully open), no obstruction in the siphon or pipe, and water pressure (≥ 20 psi).
How to replace the flush valve?
Turn off the water supply, empty the tank, disconnect the chain, remove the old flush valve and install a new Fluidmaster brand one, ensuring proper alignment.
How to clean the Fluidmaster fill valve?
Shut off the water supply, remove the cap by turning it 1/8 turn counterclockwise, then rinse the valve by opening and closing the water supply. Replace the cap in the locked position.
Where to find spare parts for this toilet?
The spare parts list is under the tank cover. Use quality Fluidmaster parts. Contact customer service or visit www.fluidmaster.com.

TROUBLESHOOTING

IF FILL VALVE SHUTS OFF BUT CONTINUES TO LEAK SLOWLY, repeat Step 13.

IF FILL VALVE TURNS OFF AND ON DURING PERIODS OF NON-USE, it is a signal you are wasting water because:

  • The end of the refill tube is inserted into overflow pipe, below water level in tank. Attach refill tube to overflow pipe using "S" clip provided.
  • The flush valve is leaking because it's worn, dirty or misaligned with tank ball or flapper (replace with a new flapper).

IF FILL VALVE WON'T TURN ON OR SHUT OFF or REFILL OF TANK WATER IS SLOW after valve has been in use for some time, Fluidmaster Model 242 Replacement Seal may be needed.
