How to clean the ceramic crock and glass lid?

Wash the crock and lid with warm soapy water using a soft sponge. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Do not put in dishwasher and do not use abrasive cleaners.

Can I use an extension cord with this slow cooker?

Using an extension cord is not recommended. If necessary, ensure the extension cord's wattage rating is at least as high as the appliance's and that it does not drape over the counter to avoid tripping hazards.

What if the plug does not fit into the outlet?

The plug is polarized (one blade wider). If it does not fit, turn it around. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug.

Can I leave the slow cooker unattended while cooking?

No, do not leave the appliance unattended while it is operating. Always unplug it after use or if you must leave.

How long can I run the slow cooker continuously?

Do not operate the appliance continuously for more than eight hours.

Can I cook raw meat directly in the slow cooker?

No, it is not recommended to cook whole pieces of raw meat, poultry, or fish. Cook ground meat separately and cut large pieces into small pieces before placing them in the crock. Use a food thermometer to check doneness.

How to keep food warm without overcooking?

Use the Warm setting to keep food at serving temperature without further cooking. Do not leave food on this setting for more than a few hours.

There is an odor during the first use, is this normal?

Yes, a slight odor may occur during the first heating. It will disappear quickly. To condition the appliance, run it with water only for about 20 minutes on 'HIGH' before first use.

Can I use accessories not supplied by the manufacturer?

No, only use accessories recommended or sold by the manufacturer. Use of unapproved accessories may pose safety risks.

How to store the slow cooker after use?

Ensure the appliance is unplugged and completely cool. Clean and dry all parts. Store the crock and lid in a dry, clean place, away from impacts.

When using this or any other electrical appliance, always follow these basic safety precautions, especially when children are present.

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE

WARNING-- To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, serious personal injury and property damage please note the following:

• This appliance is not intended for use by children. Keep the appliance out of the reach of children and pets. Extra caution is necessary when using this appliance near children.
• Always ensure the appliance is unplugged from the electrical outlet and allowed to cool before assembling, disassembling, relocating, or cleaning it.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended while it is in use. Always unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet when not in use.
• Do not immerse or expose the Base, Power Cord, or Plug of this appliance in water or liquids.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs when handling product to avoid burns or personal injury.
• This appliance generates heat and steam during use. Please take the proper precautions to avoid burns, fire, and personal or property damage.
• Do not use attachments not recommended or sold by the Manufacturer.
• Do not place appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, in a heated oven, or other heated surfaces.
• Use extreme caution when moving an appliance containing food or liquids. Spilled food can cause serious burns.
• Use the appliance in a well-ventilated area. Keep at least 4-6 inches of space on all sides of the product to allow adequate air circulation.
• Use appliance on a table or sturdy flat surface. Keep the appliance away from curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dishtowels, or other flammable materials.
• Do not plug or unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet with a wet hand.
• This appliance is intended solely for non-commercial, non-industrial, household use in cooking of food for human consumption; do not use the appliance outdoors.
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter where it may be tripped over or pulled.
• Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces.
• Do not operate the appliance empty or if it has a damaged power cord or plug, if wires are exposed, it malfunctions, it is dropped or damaged, or if the motor housing is exposed to water.
• This appliance has no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to examine or repair this appliance yourself. Please review the Warranty Policy on Page 6.
• Do not overload wall outlet, extension cords, or integral convenience holders, as this can result in a fire or electric shock.
• Do not put any stress on the power cord where it connects to the appliance, as the power cord could fray and break.
• Do not pour water directly into the base: place water and ingredients in Ceramic Pot only.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord is not recommended for use with this appliance, but if one must be used:

• The marked electrical rating must be at least as great as that of the appliance.
• Arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over or pulled.

WARNING: This appliance is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other blade) to reduce the risk of electrical shock. This is a safety feature. The plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If you are unable to insert the plug into the electrical outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use the plug with an extension cord unless you can fully insert the plug into the extension cord. Do not alter the plug. Do not attempt to defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.

Before First Use

IMPORTANT: Please check all packaging material carefully before discarding as there may be accessory parts contained within the packaging material.

WARNING: Only the Ceramic Pot and Glass Lid is dishwasher safe.

• Before your first use, wash the Ceramic Pot and Glass Lid using warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry before inserting Pot into Base.
• Plug the Slow Cooker into an outlet, turn the Control Knob from "Off" to "High". Allow the product to operate for about 15 minutes. Then, turn the Control Knob back to the "Off" position and unplug the appliance. Allow it to cool.

Attention: First use may cause a slight odor or small smoking upon heating, it is normal. This is a result of the heating element chemical reaction. It quickly goes away.

Using Your Slow Cooker:

WARNING: Avoid contact with hot surfaces.

CAUTION: Whole chickens, fish, meats should be cut down into chunks as well as large vegetables. Always defrost any frozen foods before placing into Slow Cooker.

NOTE: According to the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, all meats (fish, poultry, beef, etc..) should be cooked thoroughly before consuming, determine the internal temperature of meats using a food thermometer (not included). USDA website can provide food temperature information.

1. Add any liquid ingredients first. Gently add solid ingredients like meats or vegetables allowing a space of 2 inches from the top of Ceramic Pot.
2. Connect plug to the nearest electrical outlet.
3. Turn the Control Knob to the desired position (Low, High, or Warm)

Note: The Warm setting will keep foods at a low setting without boiling.

1. When heating is complete turn the Control Knob back to the "Off" position and unplug the appliance form the electrical outlet.

CAUTION: Do not overfill the appliance or operate it when empty. Always unplug the product from the electrical outlet when it is not in use or will be left unattended.

CAUTION: Do not operate the product for more than eight hours continuously.

1. To reduce excess moisture when heating is completed. Remove the Lid and turn the Control Knob to "High" for about 30-45 minutes.
2. To prevent heat loss, center the lid on the liner and do not remove the Lid while in use.

Cleaning Your Slow Cooker:

WARNING: Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before cleaning or storing.

NOTICE: Never immerse the motor base, plug, or cord in water or any other liquid. To avoid damaging the product, do not pour cold water into the Ceramic Pot after use as this may crack the pot.

• Remove the cooled Lid and Ceramic Pot from the Base. Use a non-abrasive dish soap and sponge to clean. Rinse thoroughly using warm water and dry completely.
  • The Base can be wiped with a damp cloth.

NOTE: NEVER IMMERSE THE BASE

• Dry all parts thoroughly before storing.
• Store in a cool, dry place. Away from reach of children.

This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of this product, at our option; however, you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the product to us and our returning a product or component under this warranty to you. If the product or component is no longer available, we will replace with a similar one of equal or greater value.
