• This device may only be used in accordance with its intended purpose and for private use.
• It is not for commercial application.
• This device is only designed for indoor use. Keep it away from heat sources (e.g. electric stove), high temperatures and direct sunlight.
• Do not place the kett le near waters sources like basins.
• Do not tough the kett le with wet hands.
  • to prevent the unit from dropping over, make sure that the support surface is stable.

- Pull out the main plug from the socket when the machine is not in use or during cleaning.

- Do not operate the device with other than specified power supplies. Voltage can be found on the type plate under the bottom heating element and listed in this quick guide under the chapter '2 technical data'.

- This device is not intended to be used by persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory or mental apti tude or lack of experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received instruc-

ti ons as to how the device is used properly.

• Children must be supervised in order to make sure that they do not play with this device.

- Keep packaging items (plastic bags, carton, styrofoam, etc.) out of reach of children, as they represent a potential source of danger.

- Only fill the water tank with fresh cold water and do not cook remaining water a second time.

- Do not move the machine while it is operating.

- Never open the cover during brewing process, this could lead to burns.

- Keep away from emitting water vapour during brewing process. Otherwise it can cause burns.

- Aft er brewing the heating element stays hot for a while. Make sure that nobody touches the inside of the kett le to avoid burns!

- The unit may only be operated by using the provided parking device.

- Allow sufficient space between this unit and other devices and walls to ensure proper venti lati on. Do not cover the device.

- Do not cook any other liquids than water.

- Never operate this unit without inserted filter, otherwise hot water may spurt out.

- During operati on the housing becomes hot. Therefore only touch the unit by its intended handle.

- Do not overfi ll the kett le in order to avoid water leakage. Children may only use the product under supervision and guidance concerning the use and cleaning of the product.

- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

3 Product details

4 Initial start-up

Please remove the kett le and the heating element from the packing and clean the unit with a damp cloth. Aft erwards connect the kett le only to a properly installed grounded socket. Bring the water to the boil by pressing the “100 °C” butt on at the top of the handle and throw it away.

Before regular use, fill the water reservoir with cold water to its maximum level and boil according the following instructions. Thereafter discard the water in order to remove any residues of the product on process.

5 Handling

Press the opening butt on to open the cover. Then fi ll the Arendo kett le with cold water and close the cover by pressing down the cover until it locks.

Important note: Please make sure not to fill in more than the maximum level of 1,7 l as marked on the scale, which is located on the right inner side. Place the kett le on to the bott om heating and set the On/Off butt on downwards to heat the water.

As soon as the target temperature has been reached, the kett le will automati cally turn off. The butt ons lights are flashing if the value of the temperature is higher. Please note that this is not the case if the target temperature is about 70^ C.

6 Decaling and cleaning

We recommend decalcifying the kett le in regular intervals, depending on the intensity of use. Before cleaning, it is essenti al to remove the power plug from the socket and wait until the device is completely cooled down. The scale fi lter is located prior to the spout. To remove the fi lter, open the cover and push the plasti c fl ap downwards. Then deep clean the taken fi lter with warm water and insert it into the holder again. When inserting the fi lter, take care that the retaining lug is fixed to the guide rail. Only use conventi onal decaling agents based on citric acid. Please follow the manufacturer's instructi ons for dosing the respective product you have chosen. The heating element must not be cleaned and never be processed with sharp or hard objects. For cleaning the outer surface of the kett le, only use a damp cloth. Never use hard or abrasive objects like a wire brush or a steel-sponge for cleaning. Please do not use any aggressive cleaning agents which could be harmful for human consumpti on or damage the surface.

7 Safety instructi ons and disclaimer

Do not attempt to service this product by yourself as opening or removing covers may result in fire, electric shock or equipment damage. The kett le is only disconnected from the voltage system when the plug has been removed from the socket. Please avoid any contact to the electric current. Pull out the plug before lightning storms or if you do not regularly use this product, to prevent a short-circuit. This device is only licensed for indoor use and dry areas. Please protect it from water, rain, snow or high humidity and keep it away from high temperatures and direct sunlight. Do not expose this product to extreme and sudden changes of temperature or heavy vibrations; this may lead to damage of the internal electronic part of this unit. Check kett le for signs of damage before putting it in operation. In case the device received any damage, it should not be used. Please contact our customer support. Please observe the relevant national provisions and legal restrictions. Do not use the device for anything other than intended and as described in the manual. Any attempt of repairs or alterations by someone other than the original

supplier will invalidate the guarantee and result in refusal of warranty claims. The machine may only be used by persons who are familiar with the operating manual and the applicable regulations concerning working safety and accident prevention.

8 Disposal Instructions

The European Directi ve (WEEE) requires that old electrical and electronic appli-ances shall be disposed of separately from normal household garbage for opti mal recycling.
