2. I Reading and storing the user manual

These instructions for use accompany this EpiTweez (hereinafter referred to only as the “epilator”).

They contain important information on start-up and handling. Before using the epilator, read the instructions for use carefully. This particularly applies to the safety instructions. Failure to comply with these instructions for use may result in severe injury or damage to the epilator. The instructions for use are based on the standards and rules in force in the European Union.

When abroad, you must also observe country-specific guidelines and laws. Store the instructions for use for future use. If you pass the epilator on to third parties, please be absolutely sure to include these instructions for use.

2.2 Explanation of symbols

The following symbols and signal words are used in this user manual, on the epilator or on the packaging.

WARNING! This signal symbol/word designates a hazard with moderate degree of risk which may lead to death or severe injury if not avoided.

NOTICE! This signal word warns against potential damages to property.

This symbol provides you with useful supplementary information on assembly or operation.

Declaration of Conformity (see chapter "10. Declaration of Conformity"):

Products marked with this symbol meet all applicable Community regulations for the European Economic Area.

This symbol indicates that the epilator may only be used indoors.

This symbol indicates that the epilator corresponds to protection class III.

This symbol indicates that the power adapter corresponds to protection class II.

This symbol indicates that the power adapter has a positive polarity.

Tested safety: Products marked with this symbol meet the requirements of the German Product Safety Act (ProdSG).

3. Safety

3.1 Proper use

The epilator is only designed for epilation of the body. It is only intended for private use and is not suitable for commercial use. Only use the epilator as described in this manual. Any other use is deemed improper and may result in damage to property. The manufacturer or vendor accepts no liability for damage caused by improper or incorrect use.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock!

A faulty electrical installation or excessive mains voltage may result in an electric shock.

• Only connect the epilator if the mains voltage of the socket corresponds to the specification on the rating plate.
• Only connect the epilator to an easily accessible socket so that you can quickly disconnect the epilator from the mains in the event of a fault.
• Do not operate the epilator if it exhibits visible damages or the mains cord or mains plug is defective.
• If the mains cord of the epilator is damaged, the manufacturer, its after sales support or a person with similar qualifications must replace it to avoid risks.
• Do not open the housing; instead, have a qualified professional perform the repairs. Contact a qualified workshop for this. Liability and warranty claims

are waived in the event of repairs performed by the user, improper connection of the device or incorrect operation.

- Only parts that comply with the original device information may be used for repairs. Electrical and mechanical parts, which are essential for providing protection against sources of danger, are located in this epilator.

- Do not operate the epilator with an external timer or separate telecontrol system.

- Do not immerse the epilator, the mains cord and the mains plug in water or other liquids.

- Never touch the mains plug with damp hands.

- Never pull the mains plug out of the socket by the mains cord; instead, always do so by taking hold of the mains plug.

- Never use the mains cord as a carrying handle.

- Keep the epilator, mains plug and mains cord away from open flames and hot

surfaces.

• Lay the mains cord so that it does not pose a tripping hazard.
• Do not kink the mains cord and do not lay it over sharp edges.
• Only use the epilator in rooms located indoors.
• Never store the epilator such that there is a risk of it falling in a tub or sink.
• Never reach to retrieve an electrical device if it has fallen in water. In such a case, immediately disconnect the mains plug.
• Make sure that children do not insert any objects in the epilator.
• Always switch the epilator off and pull the mains plug out of the socket when you are not using the epilator, cleaning it or in the event of a fault.

WARNING! Danger for children

and persons with impaired physical, sensory or mental capacities (e.g. partially disabled persons, older persons with reduced physical

and mental capacities) or lack of experience and knowledge (e.g. older children).

- This epilator may be used by children ages eight and over as well as persons with impaired physical, sensory or mental capacities or those lacking experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed in how to safely use the epilator and have understood the risks associated with using it. Children must not play with the epilator. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by unsupervised children.

- Keep children under eight years of age away from the epilator and mains cord.

- Do not leave the epilator unattended during operation.

- Do not allow children to play with the small parts. Children could swallow small parts and choke.

Improper handling of the epilator can lead to damage to the epilator.

• Never place the epilator on or near hot surfaces (stovetops etc.).
• Ensure that the mains cord does not come into contact with hot parts.
• Never expose the epilator to high temperatures (heaters etc.) or to the effects of the weather (rain etc.).
• Never fill the epilator with liquid.
• Never immerse the epilator in water in order to clean it. This could lead to damage to the epilator.
• Do not in any case place the epilator in the dishwasher. It would be destroyed as a result.
• Stop using the epilator if its plastic parts exhibit cracks or breaks or are deformed. Only replace damaged parts with corresponding original spare parts.
• Keep the epilator away from your hair and clothing during operation.

4. First use

If you are not cautious when opening

the packaging with a sharp knife or other pointed objects, you may quickly damage the epilator.

- Be very careful when opening the packaging.

I. Take the epilator and its accessories out of the packaging.
2. Check to make sure that the delivery is complete (see Fig., pg 2).
3. Check whether the epilator or the individual parts are damaged. If this is the case, do not use the epilator. Please contact the Silk'n service centre in your area (see chapter "13. Customer service").

5. Operation

5.1 Charging the epilator

NOTICE! Risk of damage!

Improper handling of the epilator can lead to damage to the epilator.

- Always charge the epilator completely and do not interrupt the charging process.

I. Plug the power adapter 7 into a properly installed outlet.

1. Plug the charging cable connector 6 into the charging port 5 of the epilator.

2. The indicator light on the epilator lights up when the epilator is connected to the power supply.

After a full charge of the battery (8 hours), you can use the epilator about 30-40 minutes.

5.2 Using the epilation cap

I. Use the large epilation cap I if you want to epilate large areas of skin.
2. Use the small epilation cap 9 if you want to epilate small, delicate areas of skin such as armpits or the intimate area.
3. Place the desired epilation cap on the epilation head 2.

5.3 Changing the epilation head

I. Press both release buttons 3 and remove the epilation head 2 at the same time.
2. Place the cleaned or new epilation head on the epilator by pressing it on the epilator.

6. Hair removal

• Skin irritation may occur during and after the epilating or shaving process. There is no need to worry.
• The best time to epilate or shave is immediately after a shower. The skin must be completely dry before you begin the process.
• Use a mild body lotion after treatment to reduce skin irritation.

I. Make sure the area of skin you wish to epilate is clean, dry and free of grease.

1. Slide the on/off switch 4 upwards. You can choose between 2 speed levels:

2. level I for sensitive areas of skin or areas where there is little hair growth;

3. level II for larger areas of skin with heavier hair growth.

4. Hold the area of skin you wish to epilate taut with your free hand.

5. Place the epilator at a 90^ -angle to the area of skin you wish to epilate.
6. Glide the epilator slowly against the direction of the hair growth on the area of skin you wish to epilate.
7. Repeat the process until all unwanted body hair has been removed.

7. Cleaning

NOTICE! Risk of damage!

Handling the epilator improperly may result in damage.

• Do not use aggressive cleaning products or sharp or metallic cleaning items such as knives, metal sponges or something similar.
• Never clean the epilator under running water.

I. Make sure the epilator is not connected to the power supply.

1. Remove the epilation head 2 (See chapter "5.3

Changing the epilation head").

1. Clean the epilator with a dry, lint-free cloth.
2. Using the brush 8, remove body hairs from the epilation head.
3. Clean the used epilation cap 1 or 9 under running water if necessary.
4. Dry all parts completely and reassemble the epilator.

8. Storage

I. Clean the epilator before storing it.
2. Store the epilator dry, protected from direct sunlight and at room temperature of + 5°C to 40°C.
3. Store the epilator in the original box or similar carton.

10. Declaration of Conformity

II. Disposal

(Applicable in the European Union and other European states with systems for the separate collection of reusable waste materials)

Old devices must not be disposed of with household waste!

If at some point it is no longer possible to use the epilator, each consumer is required by law to dispose of old devices separately from their household waste, e.g. at a collection point in their community/borough. This ensures that old devices are recycled in a professional manner and also rules out negative consequences for the environment. For this reason, electrical equipment is marked with the symbol shown here.

Batteries and rechargeable batteries do not belong in the household waste!

As the end user you are required by law to bring all batteries and rechargeable batteries, regardless whether they contain harmful substances* or not, to a collection point run by the communal authority or borough or

to a retailer, so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. Bring the entire epilator (with the rechargeable battery) to your collection point and make sure that it is in an uncharged state!

12. Warranty

This product is covered by a 2-year warranty according to European regulations and law. The extent of the warranty on this product is limited to technical defects caused by faulty production processes. In the event you want to claim warranty please be sure to contact our customer service for instructions. They may be able to solve your problem without needing to return the product to the store or our service center. Our customer service is always pleased to help you!
