How to use the Brentwood TS-1425R?

First, place the ice tray into the top opening and lock it by turning the knob counterclockwise. Add approximately 14 ice cubes. Place the mixing blade into the pitcher, add additional ice cubes and beverage ingredients. Insert the pitcher and turn it clockwise to lock. Select the Coarse or Fine setting. Place the lid without locking, plug in the appliance, then turn the lid counterclockwise to start. Once the drink is ready, turn the lid clockwise to stop.

What types of ice cubes should I use?

Use only regular-sized ice cubes. The appliance can hold approximately 14 ice cubes. Do not overfill the ice tray.

How to clean the appliance?

Always unplug the appliance before cleaning. Never immerse the motor housing in water. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth. Food-contact parts (pitcher, lid, etc.) can be washed in soapy water. Let all parts dry completely before reassembling. Do not put in dishwasher.

Can I use fruits or liquids other than water?

Yes, you can add fresh fruits, juices, syrups, or drinks directly into the pitcher with the ice cubes. For example, the watermelon granita recipe uses seedless watermelon and lemon juice. Make sure the ingredients are not too thick to avoid clogging the blades.

What to do if the ice is not crushing properly?

Check that the ice tray is properly locked (align the tabs with the arrow tips and turn the knob until it clicks). Make sure the pitcher is locked and the lid is in the unlocked position before plugging in. Use regular-sized ice cubes. If the problem persists, reduce the amount of ice cubes or switch to the coarser setting.

- This appliance is not intended for use by children. Keep the appliance out of the reach of children and pets. Extra caution is necessary when using this appliance near children.

- Always ensure the appliance is unplugged from the electrical outlet and allowed to cool before assembling, disassembling, relocating, or cleaning it.

- Do not leave the appliance unattended while it is in use. Always unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet when not in use.

- Do not immerse or expose the Base, Power Cord, or Plug of this appliance in water or other liquids.

- Do not use accessories not recommended or sold by another manufacturer.

- Arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over or pulled.

WARNING: This product is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other blade) to reduce the risk of electrical shock. This is a safety feature. The plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If you are unable to insert the plug into the electrical outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use the plug with an extension cord unless you can fully insert the plug into the extension cord. Do not alter the plug. Before First Use:

IMPORTANT: Please check all packaging material carefully before discarding as there may be accessory parts contained within the packaging material.

Attention: First use may cause a slight odor or small smoking upon heating, it is normal. This is a result of the heating element chemical reaction. It quickly goes away. Before your first use, wash the pitcher using warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry before assembling your Frozen Drink Maker.

Operation:

DO NOT PLUG APPLIANCE INTO AN ELECTRICAL OUTLET UNTIL STEP 10 HAS BEEN COMPLETED IN THIS SECTION.

1. Before first use, wipe down all surfaces with a damp cloth and dry.
2. Place Ice Holder into the top opening of the main body. As shown on Fig. A.

3. To properly lock the Ice Holder, align the tabs on the Ice Holder with the arrowheads on the dial.

4. Once aligned, the holder will fall into place. Lock the Ice Holder by turning the dial counterclockwise until you hear it click. As shown on Fig. B.

NOTE: If these steps are correctly done, your appliance will work at its optimum level. If this step is done incorrectly, your ice will not touch the blades to provide you with your desired outcome.

Tip: Only use normal sized ice cubes. Appliance will accommodate approximately 14 ice cubes. Do not overfill.

1. Place the Mixing Paddle in Pitcher. If you desire, add any extra ice (to make your drink extra cold and any beverage ingredient.
2. Insert Pitcher into machine.
3. Turn Pitcher clockwise to lock into place. The handle will end on the left side of the appliance when it locks.
4. Use the selector knob to choose your desired setting. Course or Fine.
5. Place lid on top of the appliance but do not lock into place.
6. Ensuring that the pegs of the Lid fit into the grooves and align with the beveled lettering 'ON' which will be found on the top center of Lid. CAUTION: DO NOT LOCK LID UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO START THE MACHINE. LEAVE LID UNLOCKED.
7. With Lid unlocked, plug the appliance into an outlet.
8. You are now ready to start your Frozen Drink Machine.
9. Turn the Lid counterclockwise to engage the machine. As shown in Fig. C.
10. When ice is finished, stop the machine by turning the Lid clockwise.
11. Remove pitcher and unplug appliance from outlet.
12. Your crushed ice is ready to be enjoyed.

Cleaning:

• Before cleaning, please remove the power cord from the socket.
• Do not immerse the housing with motor in water. Do not use any abrasive detergents.
• Please only use a clean damp cloth to clean the outside of the housing.

NOTE: NEVER IMMERSE IN WATER. DO NOT PUT IN DISHWASHER.

• Components that have touched food can be cleaned in soapy water.
• Allow the parts to dry thoroughly before reassembling the device.
• Store in a cool, dry place. Away from reach of children.

RECIPE IDEAS:

Start with the low setting, move to high and mix to desired texture and thickness.

Lychee Drink – 1 can of canned lychees and ice.

Watermelon Granita – Watermelon (remove seeds), lemon juice and ice.

Pineapple Lemon— Pineapple juice and Lemonade add ice.

Green Dragon - Ingredients: 1/2 cup Basil (leaves), 1 Jalapeno (medium), 1/4 can Bacardi mixers margarita mix, 1/2 cup Bacardi® Limón (optional)

Directions

1. Thaw BACARDI® Mixers Margarita Mix for 10 to 15 minutes
2. Place jalapeño and basil in the bottom of a large shaker
3. Add BACARDI® Margarita Mix
4. Add BACARDI® Limón (optional)
5. Shake for 15 to 20 seconds
6. Pour into Pitcher and start the Frozen Drink Machine.
7. Garnish with lemon wheel and jalapeño ring.
