Before First Use

IMPORTANT: Please check all packaging material carefully before discarding as there may be accessory parts contained within the packaging material.

ATTENTION:

  • Before plugging in, check to see that the electric outlet is not overloaded with other appliances.
  • This unit should always be operated alone on a separate 120Volt AC outlet.
  • Be certain that your unit is resting on a flat leveled heat resistant countertop.
  • Avoid using pans that are unstable and easily tipped.

Temperature Cycle

Indicator Light

  1. It is normal for this electric burner to cycle 100% power on and off for short periods of time on all settings. This is designed to maintain an even temperature at the heat selection that has been chosen.

  2. The burner will also periodically cycle off and back on again to protect the burner from extreme temperatures.

  3. The burner will cycle on and off more than usual when using pans that are not flat or are the incorrect size for the burner.

Cookware Size

We do not suggest using pans that are much larger than the burner itself.

  1. We recommend using similar sized cookware of the heating element. Slightly larger than an inch more of the diameter of the heating element is best.
  2. Using very large skillets or pots can damage the burner causing the internal mechanism to burn. This will leave you with a burner that no longer functions.
  3. This appliance performs best when similar sized cookware is used.

Using Your Electric Burner or Hot Plate

WARNING: Avoid contact with HOT parts. When operating this appliance, please use oven mittens or cooking gloves to avoid touching hot surfaces.

  1. Place proper sized cookware on heating element.
  2. Turn control knob from the 'OFF' position to the desired temperature position between low and high.
  3. The heating element will turn on and heating will begin immediately.
CAUTION: The whole burner, except the control knob, will become hot. Do not touch while in use. Please use with oven mittens or cooking gloves.
  4. When cooking is complete, turn control knob back to 'OFF' position.
  5. ALWAYS unplug the electric burner or hot plate from the electrical outlet when done using.
  6. Do not leave the appliance plugged in to the electrical outlet. This will prevent any accidental burns or injury.

Cleaning Your Electric Burner or Hot Plate

WARNING: Always unplug the product and allow it to cool before cleaning or storing.

NOTICE: Never immerse burner, plug, or cord in water or any other liquid.

  • Use a damp towel or sponge to clean the surface of burner, the burner ring, the drip pan, and the base.
  • For easy cleaning of the drip pan, some models are designed to allow the heating element to be lifted on one end. Wipe the drip pan with a damp towel or sponge. Do not attempt to remove the entire heating element.
  • Never use harsh abrasives or steel wool pads on any part of the unit.
