Why won't my blender start?

Check that the bowl or accessory is correctly positioned on the motor unit and that the plug is plugged in. The blender only starts if the accessory is properly in place.

What is the maximum capacity of the bowl?

Do not exceed 1.5 L for thick mixtures and 1.25 L for liquids. Excess may cause leaks or overflow.

Can I blend hot ingredients?

Do not pour boiling liquid (above 80°C). Hot liquid can be ejected violently. Let it cool before blending.

How to use the Pulse function?

Turn the speed selector (B) to the 'Pulse' position in successive movements. For models LM209/LM259, press the central button. This allows fine control of blending.

The blender vibrates excessively, what to do?

Place the appliance on a flat, stable surface. Check that the bowl or accessory is properly positioned on the motor unit.

How to safely clean the blades?

Unplug the appliance. Handle blades with care (they are very sharp). Rinse the bowl under running water. The bowl and accessories are dishwasher safe, but not the motor unit.

Can I blend ice?

Yes, for example for cocktails. Add ice cubes after liquids and use the Pulse function or maximum speed for 30 seconds maximum.

How to assemble the mixing bowl?

Place the sealing gasket (c3) on the blade holder (c2), screw the nut (c1) under the bowl. Insert food, close the lid (c5+c6) and lock. Place the bowl on the motor unit by turning until it stops.

What accessories can I use?

Depending on the model: pestle (D) for crushing, grater (E) for cheese/coconut, spice mill (F), filter (H) for juice. Respect the operating times indicated in the manual.

Where to find spare parts?

Contact your usual retailer or an approved service center. Grater kits, spice mill kits or extra bowls are available.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• Before using your appliance for the first time, carefully read these instructions for use and retain them for future reference: the manufacturer shall not accept liability in the event of any use that does not comply with the instructions.
• Make sure that the voltage that your appliance uses matches that of your electrical supply system. Any error in connection will negate the guarantee.
• This product has been designed for indoor and domestic use only, and at an altitude below 2000m . Any commercial use, inappropriate use or failure to comply with the instructions, the manufacturer accepts no responsibility and the guarantee will not apply.
• Always disconnect the appliance from the mains power supply when it is unattended and before assembling, dismantling or cleaning it.

• Remember: you may injure yourself if you use the appliance incorrectly.

• Do not use the appliance if it is not working properly or if it has been damaged. In this case, contact an authorised service centre (see the list in the service booklet).

• All maintenance other than cleaning and everyday upkeep by the customer must be performed by an authorised service centre.
• Do not use this appliance to blend or mix non-food items.
• Never use the blender jug without ingredients or with solid ingredients only.
• Always pour the liquid ingredients into the blender jug first, before adding the solid ingredients
• Do not use the jug or bowls (according to model) as containers for freezing, cooking or sterilization.
• In order to prevent overflow, do not fill the bowl or jug over the maximum level (if indicated).
• Do not touch any moving parts (blades, etc.).
• Blades are very sharp: to prevent injuries, handle them with care when emptying the blender jug, the bowls (according to model), cleaning, assembling and dismantling the blender jug (according to model) and the accessories (according to model).
• Never place your fingers or any other object not intended for this function in the blender jug when the appliance is running.
• Never remove the lid or the blender jug before the appliance has come to a complete stop.
• Always use the blender jug with the lid.
• Place the appliance on a stable, heat-resistant, clean and dry worktop.

• Do not immerse the appliance, power cord or plug in any liquid.

• Do not leave the power cord hanging within reach of children.

• Do not leave the power cord close to or in contact with the hot parts of the appliance, near a source of heat or a sharp angle or inside the blender jug in contact with the blades.
• Never use the pusher (D) without the lid, otherwise it will touch the blades.
• Keep moving parts (blades) away from the cord during use.
• Never pull the power cord to disconnect the appliance.
• Do not allow long hair, scarves, ties etc. to hang over the appliance or attachment when either is in use.
• Do not use the appliance if the power cord or plug have been damaged. To avoid all danger, have them replaced by an authorised service centre (see the list in the service booklet).
• For your safety, only use spare parts and accessories that are approved for your appliance.
• Be careful if hot liquid is poured into the blender as it can be ejected out of the appliance as it produces a lot steam.
• Do not pour boiling liquids (over 80^ C / 176^ F ) in the bowl or jug (according to model).
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

• Do not allow children to use the appliance without supervision.

• It is not intended to be used in the following applications, and the guarantee will not apply for:
• staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
  -farm houses;
• by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
• bed and breakfast type environments.
• Switch off the appliance and unplug it from the electrical power supply before changing accessories or approaching parts that move in use.

• The grater (according to model) can be used by

children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are aged from 8 years and above and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.

PRACTICAL ADVICE

• Pulse: this instantaneous speed means you can refine the degree of mixing and evenness of blending of your recipes.
• This instantaneous speed is obtained by successive movements of the selector (B) to the "Pulse" position (LM 202, LM 207, LM 208).
• For models LM 209 and LM 259, press the button located in the centre of the selector (B).
• For a more even mix, first introduce the liquid ingredients and run the blender for a moment before introducing the solid ingredients.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE

• Before first use, clean the blender jug and accessories with hot soapy water.
• Important note: Set the speed selector (B) to "0" before attaching the blender jug or accessories on the body of the blender.
• The blender will only start up if the accessory is correctly positioned on its body.
• Do not run the blender if the lid is not fitted.

1. BLENDER JUG (C)

• Position the seal (c3) on the knife holder (c2) and screw the assembly into the bottom of the jug using the nut (c1) (Fig. 1).

• Introduce the food to be mixed into the jug without exceeding the maximum level indicated:

• 1.5 litres for thick mixes,

• 1.25 litres for liquid preparations.

• Place the lid (c5 + c6) on the blender jug and lock it.

• Place the blender jug (C) on the body of the blender (A); there are 4 possible positions.
• Plug in the appliance and start by setting the speed selector (B) to the desired position.
• Connect the appliance and start by setting the speed selector (B) to the desired position.
• Low speed: to start liquid preparations
• High speed: to homogenise preparations.
• To stop the blender, return the speed selector (B) to position "0".
• Do not use the blender with its blender jug more than 3 minutes in maxi speed.
• You can pour your liquid preparations without removing the lid thanks to the lid filtering position (Fig. 4).

2. ACCESSORIES (according to model)

• You can use the pusher (D) to even and tamp down your preparations (especially the thickest) in the blender jug.
• To do so, introduce the pusher through the opening of the measuring cap (c6).
• Never use the pusher (D) without the lid, otherwise it will touch the blades.
• Turn the speed selector (B) to the desired position and use the pusher to push the food onto the blades.
• Use the mill (E) to chop garlic, fines herbs, parsley, rusks for breadcrumbs and prepare mixes for baby, meat (eg 100g of brisket in 4 seconds).
• Use the grater (F) to powder coconut (first cut into cubes) in 30 seconds maximum, and also hard cheese (e.g. 60g of Parmesan).
• Use the spice mill (G) to mill spices (e.g. coriander).
• These accessories are equipped with a safety lid (H) preventing access to moving blades.
• Introduce the ingredients into the jug (E or F). Lock the lid (G) onto the jug of the accessory then place the assembly on the body of the blender (A) (Fig. 2).
• Plug in the blender and turn the speed selector (B) to the desired position or give a few pulses using the "pulse" function. Hold the lid (G) while in operation.
• To stop the blender, bring the speed selector (B) back to position "0".
• Turn the accessory assembly over on the working surface before unlocking the accessory lid (E-F) (Fig. 3).
• You can then hold the preparation in the lid which serves as a container.
• You can use the filter (H) to prepare soya milk, smoother sauces, fruit juices or cocktails removing pips and skins that will stay in the filter.
• Position the filter in the blender jug (C) making certain that the filter slots are on the inner ribs of the jug (Fig. 5) then fit the lid (c5).
• Introduce the food or liquids into the filter through the opening of the measuring cap (c6). Replace the measuring cap and turn the speed selector (B) to the desired position or give a few pulses on the "pulse" position.
• Make certain to pour your preparation holding the lid locked on the blender jug and select the lid filtering position (Fig. 4).

CLEANING

• Handle blades with great care as they are extremely sharp and can cause injury.
• Unplug the blender.
• Remove the jug and rinse it with its lid under running water.
• Wash the accessories in hot water with a few drops of washing up liquid added or in the dishwasher.
• Clean the body of the blender (A) with a moist cloth. Dry carefully.
• Never put it in water or under running water.
• To facilitate maintenance of the jug (c4), unlock the blade holder (c2) and remove its seal (c3) before cleaning the assembly.
• To clean the pouring lid (c5) more effectively, you can separate its two component parts by turning the lid to position (Fig. 6).
• You can wash the blender jug and accessories in the dishwasher.

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR APPLIANCE DOES NOT WORK

PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
Product does not work.	The plug is not connected.	Plug in the appliance to a socket with the same voltage.
	The jug or accessory is not fitted correctly on the body of the blender.	Check that the jug or accessories are resting correctly on the motor unit.

Leak from bottom of jug.	Seal is not positioned or locking nut is not screwed in correctly.	Re-position the seal and screw the nut in firmly.

RECIPES

Fruit cocktail

4 oranges, 2 mangoes, 1 kiwi, 1/2 lemon, 8 ice cubes. Peel the mangoes and the kiwi.

Remove stones from mangoes. Put them in the blender jug with the orange and lemon juice. Run for 10 seconds. Add ice cubes and run for a further 30 seconds. Serve chilled.

Waffle mix

3 eggs, 1/4 litre milk, 250g flour, 150g sugar, 1 packet of baker's yeast, 125g butter. Put all the ingredients into the blender except the flour that is added through the measuring cap hole with the blender running. Mix for 2 minutes.

Pancake mix

3 eggs, 3/4 litre milk, 300g flour, 75g butter.

Put all the ingredients into the blender except the flour that is added through the measuring cap hole with the blender running. Mix for 2 minutes.

Hummus

600 g of cooked chick peas, 3/4 of a glass of lemon juice, 6 cloves of garlic, a few sprigs of parsley, 6 tablespoons of oil, 80ml cl water, a few pinches of powdered chillies, salt and pepper.

Put half the chick peas and all the other ingredients (except the parsley) into the blender and mix for 10 seconds. Then add the remainder of the chick peas through the measuring cap hole and mix again for 30 seconds. Decorate with parsley.

Guacamole

2 well ripened avocado pears, 1 peeled tomato with pips removed, 1 small onion, 3 tablespoons of fresh coriander, 2 small chillies, 50ml cl water and 3 tablespoons of lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Remove the stones from the avocado pears and peel them. Put half the avocado pears with all the other ingredients into the blender and mix for 20 seconds. Then add the remainder of the avocado pears through the measuring cap hole and mix for a further 30 seconds.
