Frequently Asked Questions - KFV 945 Orbegozo

How to use my Orbegozo KFV 945 coffee maker for the first time?
Before first use, unscrew the top, remove the funnel and filter plate. Rinse all parts with hot water. Fill the base with water up to the safety valve, add ground coffee into the funnel without tamping, screw on the top (tighten by the body, not the handle) and place on low heat.
Can I use instant coffee in the coffee maker?
No, only use coarsely ground coffee. Instant coffee or extracts are not suitable and could clog the filter.
How to clean my coffee maker after each use?
Wait for it to cool down, then unscrew the parts. Wash with hot water without abrasive detergents. If necessary, use a water-vinegar mixture for stains. Dry all parts thoroughly before storing them separately.
Why does my coffee taste burnt or bitter?
You are using too high heat or leaving the coffee on the heat too long. Use a low and steady heat and remove the coffee maker as soon as the coffee rises. Do not reheat the coffee.
Can the coffee maker be used on an induction cooktop?
The aluminum material is generally not compatible with induction. Use on gas, electric or ceramic glass. Check the provided instructions.
What to do if the coffee maker leaks or does not screw properly?
Check that the silicone gasket is properly in place and in good condition. If the screw thread is worn, replace the coffee maker. Make sure not to overtighten and to screw by the body.
How to know when the coffee is ready?
The coffee rises through the central tube and comes out of the lid. When the coffee stops coming out or you hear a steam noise, remove from heat immediately.
Is there a risk of burns?
Yes, beware of steam and the hot body. Do not touch metal parts during use. Allow to cool before unscrewing.
Can I keep the coffee warm in the coffee maker?
It is not recommended. The coffee maker is not designed to keep coffee warm. Consume it quickly and clean it after use to prevent metal alteration.
Where can I find spare parts?

Periodically check the condition of the filter funnel, filter plate and rubber washer. Share parts are readily available. Shoud the treads become worn, replace the coffee maker.
