Frequently Asked Questions - HG09119A Ernesto

My frying pan makes noise on my induction hob, is this normal?
Yes, this is normal due to the electromagnetic properties of the hob. Make sure the pan is centred on the cooking zone.
Can I use this frying pan on an induction hob?
Yes, the base contains magnetic steel elements inserted in the aluminium. Place it on a cooking zone of suitable diameter (200 mm or 179 mm depending on model).
The base of my frying pan is not entirely magnetic, is this a defect?
No, this is not a defect. The base is made of aluminium with magnetic inserts to allow induction; it is not magnetic everywhere. This does not affect operation.
Can I put the frying pan in the oven?
Yes, it can go in the oven up to 160°C for a maximum of 1 hour.
Is the frying pan dishwasher safe?
Yes, it is dishwasher safe. However, frequent washing may discolour the aluminium parts.
The non-stick coating is discolouring, what should I do?
Discoloration can occur due to overheating (cooking empty or without fat). This does not affect quality. Avoid overheating and lightly grease before use.
Can I use metal utensils?
No, to protect the non-stick coating, always use wood or synthetic utensils. Do not cut food in the pan.
What types of hobs are compatible?
This pan is suitable for gas, electric, ceramic, induction and halogen. Check the base diameter.
How to clean the frying pan correctly?
Wash it with hot water and mild dish soap. Avoid abrasive products and hard brushes. It is also dishwasher safe.
The handle gets hot, is this normal?
Yes, the handle can get hot during cooking. Always use an oven mitt or kitchen gloves to grasp it.

Operation and safety notes

FR BE

POÉLE EN ALUMINIUM

We congratulate you on the purchase of your new product. You have chosen a high quality product. Familiarise yourself with the product before using it for the first time. In addition, please carefully refer to the operating instructions and the safety advice below. Only use the product as instructed and only for the indicated field of application. Keep these instructions in a safe place. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.

Care and use

Save energy! To avoid heat loss, choose a hotplate with a diameter that matches the diameter of the product.

Effective bottom diameter:

  • 379542_2110: approx. 200 mm
  • 410991_2110: approx. 179 mm

  • Remove all labels from the product prior to use and rinse with clean water.
Before using the product for the first time, boil it out with water 2 to 3 times to completely remove all manufacturing residues.
    Lightly grease the product.

  • Do not overheat the product while empty or filled to prevent the non-stick effect from weakening due to damage to the coating.

Risk of overheating! When fat-free food comes in contact with the non-oiled, overheated product, slight discolourations of the non-stick coating might occur due to the burning of proteins. Such discolourations are signs of wear and do not affect the quality of the coating and its fitness for use.

Heat up the food at a high / medium heat setting and then let it cook at a lower heat setting until ready.
- Never leave the product unsupervised while the grease is warming: Overheated grease can ignite. Never attempt to extinguish grease fires with water! Smother the flames with a lid or a dense wool blanket.
- Only use plastic or wooden kitchen utensils to prevent damaging the non-stick coating. Do not cut food directly in the product.
- Do not add dripping wet meat to the product. Grease splatting onto a glowing hob can easily cause a fire.
The handle may heat during cooking. Use a pot holder or grill gloves for your protection.
The product is suitable for gas, electric, glass ceramic, induction and halogen cooker hobs.

Note for induction hobs: A noise may occur under certain conditions, resulting from the electromagnetic properties of the heat source and the product. This is totally normal and does not imply that your induction hob or your cookware is damaged. Place the product in the middle of the induction hotplate. ATTENTION! High heating-up rate! Do not overheat cookware when preheating. The room must be aired out well, in the event cookware overheats.
This product combines the benefits of aluminium cookware, such as low weight and high thermal conductivity, with the benefits of cooking with induction. To enable this, magnetic steel elements have been inserted in the aluminium base. Consequently the base is not magnetic throughout, so that on induction hobs that are significantly greater than the base diameter, it can happen that the induction coils do not react. This is not a quality defect and does not represent any impairment of the functionality. So that the product functions perfectly, always place it on the hob corresponding to the effective base diameter stated in this manual.
High temperatures may discolour the exterior of the product. This does not indicate faulty material, nor does it impair the product's quality or function.
- Never hold the hot product under cold running water. The underside of the product may be damaged or fall off.

The product is suitable for keeping dishes warm inside the oven (max. 160^ for 1 hour).
This product is suitable for dishwashers.
Handwash with hot water and common washing-up liquid. Avoid using sharp or pointy objects or brushes to avoid damaging the material.
Do not clean with harsh or abrasive cleaners.
- Frequently cleaning of the product with harsh cleaners may damage it and can cause discolouration.
Aluminium pieces may discolour when placed in the dishwasher.
■ ATTENTION! RISK OF SCRATCHES! Do not move the product back and forth on glass-ceramic hobs! We recommend before cooking to wipe briefly the surface of the hob and the product bottom with a clean, lint-free cloth (e.g. microfiber) to reduce the risk of scratches.
- Food safe: This product does not affect the taste or odour of prepared foods.
- Never use the product if the handles are loose. Retighten the screw joint of the handles if necessary.
