How to connect the player to the TV?

Use the supplied HDMI cable to connect the HDMI VIDEO OUT jack of the player to an HDMI input on the TV. For 4K, the TV must be 4K compatible and the HDMI cable must support 18 Gbit/s.

How to update the firmware?

Panasonic recommends updating the firmware regularly. Updates can be downloaded via an Internet connection (Wi-Fi or LAN). Follow on-screen notifications or refer to the PDF instruction manual.

Which disc formats are compatible?

The player supports Ultra HD Blu-ray, BD-Video, BD-RE/R, DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW/+R/+RW, Audio CD and CD-R/RW formats. See the full list in the instruction manual.

The remote control no longer works, what should I do?

First check the batteries: insert new batteries (R03/LR03, AAA) observing polarities. Point the remote at the front sensor of the player. If the problem persists, move away sources of interference (fluorescent lamps, etc.).

How to connect the player to the network?

Two options: Wi-Fi (wireless) via your router, or Ethernet (wired) with a straight LAN cable (Cat 5 or higher). Follow the Quick Start Guide for network setup.

How to get 4K and HDR output?

Ensure your TV is 4K compatible and HDR compatible. Use the supplied HDMI cable (18 Gbit/s). The player automatically selects 4K format (50p/60p) if the TV supports it. For Ultra HD Blu-ray, HDCP 2.2 is required.

Can I play high-resolution audio files?

Yes, the player supports DSD (DFF/DSF), FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AAC and WMA files. You can play them from a USB device, SD card or via the network.

How to clean the device?

To clean, disconnect the power cord. Use a soft, dry cloth. Never use solvents, chemicals or wet cloths. Avoid scratching the surface.

How to dispose of the device at end of life?

Do not dispose of the device with household waste. Follow local regulations for recycling electronic waste. The symbol (crossed-out wheelie bin) indicates it must be collected separately.

Which HDMI cable to use for 4K 50p/60p?

A High Speed HDMI cable capable of 18 Gbit/s is required. Such a cable is supplied with the device (reference K1HY19YY0048). For optimal use, avoid cables that are too long.

Quick Start Guide

STEP 1 : Connecting to a TV

Use HDMI VIDEO OUT terminal with the supplied HDMI cable.

• Insert the AC mains lead up to Ⓐ, a point just before the round hole.
• To enjoy 4K output, you need to connect this unit to a 4K compatible TV.
• To enjoy images in 4K (50p/60p), you need an HDMI cable that supports 18 Gbps.

A High Speed HDMI-compliant cable that supports 18 Gbps is supplied with this unit. Part number : K1HY19YY0048

• When you connect to a 4K-compatible TV, 4K (50p/60p) will be automatically selected.
• To view Ultra HD Blu-ray content in 4K/HDR format, connect to the HDMI terminal of a device that supports HDCP2.2, 4K (50p/60p) 4:4:4, and HDR signals that meet Ultra HD Blu-ray standards.

STEP 2 : Connecting to the network

Use category 5 or above straight LAN cables (STP) when connecting to peripheral devices.

STEP 3 : Settings

Turn on the TV and select the appropriate video input.

Touch [⏻/l]*2.

Follow the on-screen instructions to continue with the settings.

^*1 These buttons work just by touching the marks. Do not place any objects on or around the buttons.
*2 Standby/on switch (⏻/l)

Touch to switch the unit from on to standby mode or vice versa. In standby mode, the unit is still consuming a small amount of power.

STEP 4 : Playing a disc

Insert the disc.

Select the item to play and press [OK].

• Do not handle the plug with wet hands.
• Hold onto the mains plug body when disconnecting the plug.
• Do not use a damaged mains plug or socket outlet.

The mains plug is the disconnecting device.

Install this unit so that the mains plug can be unplugged from the socket outlet immediately.

Small object

Keep the Memory Card and the batteries out of reach of children to prevent swallowing.
