Downloaded from www.vandenborre.beWARNINGS This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: − staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; − farm houses; − by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; − bed and breakfast type environments. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children. Regarding the operating times and speed setting, refer to the section “Operation” on pages 4 of the manual. Care shall be tak en when handling the sharp c utting blades, emptying the bowl and during cleaning. Alw ays disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning. Regarding the instructions for cleaning surfaces in contact with food, refer to the section “Cleaning and Maintenance” on pages 4 & 5 of the manual. Switch off the appliance and disconnect from supply before changing acc essories or approaching parts that move in use. Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.

Read all instructions carefully before operating the appliance and retain this instruction manual for furture reference. Before operating this appliance, ensure that long hair is tied back and loose jewellery and clothing are removed. Be certain that accessories are firmly inserted and correctly assembled before operating this appliance. Do not exceed the maximum quantity of ingredients listed in the instruction manual. Never use this appliance to blend anything other than food. Do not use the blender to blend or chop hot food or liquid as there is a danger of scalding or damage to the appliance. Do not overfill the bowl. Do not use outdoors. Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. It is recommended to use the bowl cover on the bowl for whisking. Ensure the attachments have stopped rotating before lifting the mixer head upwards. The use of accessories not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury. Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended purpose. Always operate the appliance with lid in place.

WARNING: ALWAYS make sure the appliance is turned off and unplugged before assembly and
disassembly. Place the appliance on a fat stable surface.
1. Press the head release button to lift
2. Place the mixing bowl into the recessed bowl
locator. Twist the mixing bowl clockwise to lock it into place.
3. Attach the bowl cover to the head
unit to prevent ingredients from splashing out during operation.
4. Place the accessory into the accessory socket.
Rotate the accessory screw head anticlockwise to secure into place.

Downloaded from www.vandenborre.beOPERATION Ensure the speed selector is set to the OFF position. Plug the appliance into the mains socket. MIN to medium speed settings for making bread dough Use the dough hook or beater to mix and knead yeast doughs. It is recommended that the maximum amount of flour and water to be used is 1000g for flour and 600ml for water. First put flour and then pour water in the bowl. The ingredients should be mixed at speed MIN for 30 seconds, and then the speed increased to a medium speed for additional 3 to 5 minutes. (Max: 5-minute continuous use, allow the appliance to cool down between two consecutive cycles.) Speed MAX for making cakes and icings Use the whisk to whisk egg whites and creams for about 7 minutes at speed MAX. The maximum number of eggs is 14. Speed MAX for mixing shakes, cocktails or other liquids Use the beater to mix the ingredients at speed MAX for about 7 minutes. NOTE: During mixing, ingredients may splash or cling to the side of the mixing bowl, turn the speed selector to the OFF position and use the supplied spatula scrape the side of the mixing bowl incorporating this into the centre of the mixing bowl, continue mixing.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Warning: Always turn off and unplug the appliance before cleaning.
Ensure the appliance has cooled completely before cleaning. Disassemble the accessories. Wash the accessories in warm soapy water. Rinse them thoroughly. Clean the outside of the appliance with a slightly damp cloth. Do not immerse it in water. Surfaces in contact with food should be cleaned regularly to avoid cross contamination from different types of food, the use of warm clean water with a mild detergent is advisable when dealing with surfaces that come into contact with food.
Downloaded from www.vandenborre.beCorrect food hygiene practises should always be followed at all times to avoid possibility of food poisoning /cross contamination. Dry the entire appliance with a dry cloth before replacing. Do not use chemical cleaners or abrasives product for cleaning.

This will help conserve natural resources and ensure that it is recycled in a manner that protects health and the environment. You must dispose of this appliance and its packaging according to local laws and regulations. Because this appliance contains electronic components, the appliance and its accessories must be disposed of separately from household waste when the appliance reaches its end of life. Contact your local authority to learn about disposal and recycling. The appliance should be taken to your local collection point for recycling. Some collection points accept appliance free of charge.
