Frequently Asked Questions - Compact C1 Turbo PowerLine MIELE

How to install the turbo brush on my Miele vacuum?
For the STB 205 model, replace the bipositional brush with the turbo brush in the suction tube by turning left and right until you hear a click. For the STB 201 Vario model, the locking device adapts to the hose diameter (30 to 38 mm).
Can I use the turbo brush on thick carpets?
Yes, but if the turbo brush slows down, open the additional air slider to improve suction airflow. However, do not use it on valuable hand-woven carpets or very long pile to avoid pulling threads.
How to clean the turbo brush?
Turn off and unplug the vacuum. Cut threads and hair wrapped around the cylindrical brush with scissors. For deep cleaning, unlock the brush on both sides with a coin, remove it, and remove deposits inside.
Can I use the turbo brush to vacuum liquids?
No, never vacuum liquids or damp items. Let shampooed carpets and rugs dry completely before vacuuming.
Is the turbo brush compatible with all vacuums?
The STB 205 model is specially designed for Miele vacuums. The STB 201 Vario model can be adapted to hoses with a diameter of 30 to 38 mm, but must be used with powerful vacuums.
What to do if the turbo brush does not rotate properly?
Check that the additional air slider is closed (except for thick carpets). Make sure the cylindrical brush is not clogged with threads or hair. Clean it if necessary.
What safety precautions should I take with children?
Children under 8 years should only use the turbo brush under supervision. Do not let them play with the device. Packaging materials pose a risk of suffocation.
Can I use the turbo brush on hard floors?
The turbo brush is ideal for short-pile carpets and rugs. For hard floors, preferably use the bipositional brush or parquet brush to avoid damaging the floor.
How to maintain the turbo brush without damaging it?
Never immerse the turbo brush in water. Clean it with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Always turn off and unplug the vacuum before any maintenance.
What to do in case of vacuuming a hot object?
Never vacuum glowing objects like ashes or coals that seem extinguished. If this happens, immediately turn off the vacuum and check for any damage. Contact Miele service if necessary.

Turbobrush features

The Turbobrush is operated by the suction power of the vacuum cleaner. It has a rotating roller brush which is very effective at picking up thread, hairs and fluff. Four rollers maintain the brush 1.5 mm away from the floor.

⚠️ The Turbobrush should not be used for vacuuming deep-pile rugs and carpets or valuable hand-knotted rugs and carpets, e.g. Persian and oriental rugs etc. There is a danger of the threads being pulled out.

Do not use the Turbobrush to clean highly textured or uneven floors. The brush might come into contact with the floor and cause damage.

The Turbobrush is particularly suitable for vacuuming thread and hair from cut pile carpeting.

The standard floorhead or one of the Miele floorbrushes should be used for cleaning hard floors.

It is also important to observe the flooring manufacturer's cleaning and care instructions.

Fitting the Turbobrush

Model STB 205 (dia. 01)

This Turbobrush is intended for use with Miele vacuum cleaners.

■ Instead of the usual floor attachment, fit the Turbobrush to the suction tube by twisting it to the left and right. Ensure that the locking device engages.

Model STB 201 Vario (dia. 02)

This Turbobrush has an adjustable connector. It can be used on any suction tube with a diameter of between 30 and 38 mm. The Turbobrush should, however, only be used with the vacuum cleaner set to its highest power setting.

Open the air inlet valve (dia. 03)

The brush is operated by the suction power of the vacuum cleaner. With deeper, dense pile carpets the roller brush may rotate more slowly. This is caused by the carpet pile creating a seal around the mouth of the Turbobrush and hindering the flow of air. This will affect how well the carpet is brushed.

■ To increase the airflow, open the air inlet valve (left hand illustration).

In all other situations the air inlet valve should be closed, to benefit from the full suction power.

■ Close the air inlet valve (right hand illustration).

Maintenance

⚠️ Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the electrical supply for cleaning and maintenance work on the Turbobrush. Switch off at the wall socket and remove the plug.

Removing threads and hairs (dia. 04 - 06)

■ Cut any threads or hairs that have become entangled on the roller brush with a pair of scissors (dia. 04).

Then run the vacuum cleaner to vacuum up the bits.

For more obstinate tangles or blockages inside the Turbobrush, the cover can be opened. Any large particles can then be easily removed.

■ Using a coin undo the roller cover on both sides and then remove the cover (dia. 05).
■ Remove any dirt in the brush compartment interior and from the roller brush.
■ Replace the cover and secure it (dia. 06).
