TIPS AND TECHNIQUES
Seals
There are two seals supplied with your Personal Cup & Adapter. The seals are interchangeable and their uses are:
- During the blend - place a seal on the thread on the adapter.
- To travel - place a seal on the flip-top lid before attaching to the 20 ounce (0.6 L) personal cup.
The seals are used to avoid leaks and spills. If you experience leaking:
• Make sure the seal is in place on the adapter before attaching it to the personal cup.
- Thread the adapter onto the personal cup until it stops. Try to thread a little further to make sure it is tight.
Ingredients
- Cut ingredients into 1-inch pieces. DO NOT overfill.
- Cubed ice blends better than crushed ice.
- Add ingredients to the Personal Cup in the order they appear in the recipe, or follow the general guideline on page 6 when creating your own.
Operation
- When starting your machine, hold at a low speed (1 or 2) for a few seconds until you see the blades “grab” or begin to process the ingredients.
- Once ingredients begin circulating, increase to the speed recommended in the Vitamix recipe. Operating at a lower speed than suggested can cause the motor to overheat. Blend for the full processing time suggested in the recipe.
