Frequently Asked Questions - DPMB300EU PANASONIC

How to install the toner cartridge and drum kit?
1. Remove the toner cartridge and drum cartridge from their bags. Shake the toner cartridge horizontally more than 5 times. Remove the protective cover from the toner cartridge and remove the protective sheet from the drum cartridge. Insert the toner cartridge into the drum cartridge from the top corner and push to lock. Open the left cover, install the assembly holding it by the central handle, then close the cover.
How to resolve a paper jam?
For a jam in the input tray: remove the tray, straighten the paper and reinsert it. For a jam in the document feeder: open the feeder cover and gently remove the jammed document. If the jam persists, check the paper type and quality.
How to set the date and time?
Press [Menu], then [#][1][0][1] then [OK]. Enter the two digits for day, month, year, hour and minute. Use [*] to choose AM/PM or 24-hour format. Confirm with [OK] and exit with [Stop].
How to connect the printer to the local network?
Connect the LAN cable to the device. The IP address can be assigned automatically (DHCP) or manually. For manual assignment: press [Menu], [#][5][0][0] to disable DHCP, then configure the IP address (function #501), subnet mask (#502) and gateway (#503).
How to scan a document to an email address?
Place the original, press [Scan], select 'EMAIL ADDRESS' with the navigation keys. Enter the recipient's email address (via the keyboard or speed dial keys). Change settings if necessary and press [Start]. The image will be sent directly without using a computer.
How to print duplex?
Open the document in a Windows application, go to File > Print. Select the device name, click Preferences (or Properties), General tab. Choose the desired duplex layout (e.g., flip on long edge). Confirm and print. Use plain or thin paper.
When should the drum kit be replaced and how?
The drum must be replaced when the message 'REPLACE DRUM, REPL. SUPPLIES' appears or after approximately 20000 pages. To replace, follow the same procedure as the initial installation (step 1 of toner/drum installation). Use a genuine Panasonic drum (DQ-DCB020-X).
How to clean the document feeder rollers?
Turn the device off. Open the automatic document feeder cover while supporting the document cover. Clean the rollers with a cloth dampened with water and let dry completely. Close the cover and turn the device back on.
How to reset all settings to default?
Press [Menu], [#][1][5][9] then [OK]. Confirm the reset. All settings, including date, time, speed dial numbers and network configurations, will be erased. This operation is irreversible.
What types of paper should not be used?
Avoid papers containing more than 20% cotton/fibers, too smooth or textured, coated, torn, with staples, dirty, damp, or that can melt at 200°C (e.g., vellum paper). Also do not use inkjet paper. For transparencies and labels, use types designed for laser printers.
