How to turn on the Philips SA5245BT player?

To turn on the device, hold down the ①/▶II button until the Philips logo appears on the screen.

Why won't my player turn on?

Make sure you held the power button long enough (about 2 seconds). If the problem persists, charge the battery for at least 4 hours via the USB cable, then try again. You can also use Philips Device Manager to restore the device.

How to transfer music to the SA5245BT?

Connect the player to your computer using the supplied USB cable. Use Windows Media Player 11 (provided on the CD) to sync your music and picture files. You can also drag and drop files via Windows Explorer.

What audio and video formats are compatible?

Audio formats: MP3 (8-320 kbps) and WMA (5-192 kbps). Video formats: MPEG4 SP (AVI) and WMV9 (up to 320x240 pixels). For videos, use MediaConverter™ for Philips to convert incompatible files.

How to connect a Bluetooth headset?

From the main menu, go to Settings > Bluetooth, enable Bluetooth, then select New device. Your player will search for available devices. Choose your headset and, if necessary, enter the PIN (usually 0000). Once connected, sound will be streamed via Bluetooth.

Can I record FM radio?

Yes, the FM radio recording function is available except in the USA and Canada. In radio mode, press OPTIONS, select Start radio recording, then ▶II. To stop, press ↩. Recordings are saved in Library recordings > Radio recordings.

How to set the volume limit?

Go to Settings > Sound settings > Volume limit. Press -VOLUME+ to adjust the desired level, then confirm with ▶II. The volume cannot exceed this limit unless you reset it.

What to do if the screen is unresponsive?

Use a paperclip or pin to press the RESET button located underneath the device. Hold it down until it turns off. This does not delete your data. If that does not work, recharge the battery or use Philips Device Manager to repair the device.

How to update the software?

Download and install Philips Device Manager from the CD or www.philips.com/support. Connect the player to the computer, launch the software, and click Update. Follow the instructions. Note that the update erases all content on the player.

The earphones, USB cable, pouch, and other accessories are available at www.philips.com/support. For the battery, contact an authorized service center: it must not be replaced by the user.
