WARNINGS

This appliance is intended for domestic household use only and should not be used for any other purpose or in any other application, such as for non-domestic use or in a commercial environment.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
The surfaces are liable to get hot during use.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
❖ Always unplug the appliance from the mains socket after use and before cleaning. Allow it to cool to room temperature before moving, removing parts and before cleaning.
The use of accessories or attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may cause hazards.
Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
Do not attempt to dislodge food when the appliance is in operation.

OPERATION

Before first use

Remove all packaging materials and wipe the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth.

Clean the cooking plates with a damp cloth.

Lightly coat the cooking plates with a little cooking oil.

As there is manufacturing residue or oil coating in the appliance and on the heat element, the appliance may emit an odour when first used. It is recommended to let the appliance complete a few baking cycles without sandwiches.

Baking

  1. Place the appliance on a stable flat surface.
  2. Plug in the appliance.

The red power indicator light will be illuminated to indicate the appliance is preheating.

  1. Keep the baking plates closed while preheating.
    Make sure two baking plates lock into place.
  2. When the green ready indicator light is illuminated, the appliance reaches the baking temperature.
  3. Open the lid and place the sandwiches on the baking plates.
  4. Close the lid.
  5. When the green light goes out, baking is finished.
  6. Open the lid and remove the slices of sandwiches with a spatula (not supplied).

Do not use sharp pointed objects to avoid damaging the coating of the baking surfaces.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Unplug the appliance from the mains supply before cleaning.

Allow to cool completely. Do not attempt to move or carry the appliance while it is still hot.

Brush away crumbs remains from the baking surfaces.

Clean any parts of the appliance with a damp cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners.

Never immerse the appliance or its lead in water.

Surfaces in contact with food should be cleaned regularly to avoid cross contamination from different types of food, the use of hot clean water with a mild detergent is advisable when dealing with surfaces that come into contact with food. Correct food hygiene practises should always be followed at all times to avoid possibility of food poisoning /cross contamination.
