How to use the Proline SM23S sandwich press?

Plug in the appliance, wait for the green light to turn on (preheating), open the lid, place the sandwiches on the plates, close, and wait for the green light to turn off to indicate the end of cooking. Remove with a spatula (not included).

What are the indicator lights and what do they mean?

The red light turns on when the appliance is plugged in and heating. The green light turns on when the cooking temperature is reached, then turns off when cooking is complete.

How to clean the sandwich press?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool completely. Sweep away crumbs, then clean the plates with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Never immerse the appliance in water and do not use abrasive cleaners.

Can I use accessories not provided?

Using accessories not recommended by the manufacturer can be dangerous. It is advisable to use only provided or approved accessories.

What to do if the appliance emits an odor during first use?

WARNINGS

This appliance is intended for domestic household use only and should not be used for any other purpose or in any other application, such as for non-domestic use or in a commercial environment.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

OPERATION

Before first use

Remove all packaging materials and wipe the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth.

Clean the cooking plates with a damp cloth.

Lightly coat the cooking plates with a little cooking oil.

As there is manufacturing residue or oil coating in the appliance and on the heat element, the appliance may emit an odour when first used. It is recommended to let the appliance complete a few baking cycles without sandwiches.

Baking

1. Place the appliance on a stable flat surface.
2. Plug in the appliance.

The red power indicator light will be illuminated to indicate the appliance is preheating.

1. Keep the baking plates closed while preheating.
   Make sure two baking plates lock into place.
2. When the green ready indicator light is illuminated, the appliance reaches the baking temperature.
3. Open the lid and place the sandwiches on the baking plates.
4. Close the lid.
5. When the green light goes out, baking is finished.
6. Open the lid and remove the slices of sandwiches with a spatula (not supplied).

Do not use sharp pointed objects to avoid damaging the coating of the baking surfaces.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Unplug the appliance from the mains supply before cleaning.

Allow to cool completely. Do not attempt to move or carry the appliance while it is still hot.

Brush away crumbs remains from the baking surfaces.

Clean any parts of the appliance with a damp cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners.

Never immerse the appliance or its lead in water.

Surfaces in contact with food should be cleaned regularly to avoid cross contamination from different types of food, the use of hot clean water with a mild detergent is advisable when dealing with surfaces that come into contact with food. Correct food hygiene practises should always be followed at all times to avoid possibility of food poisoning /cross contamination.
