How to use the Kalorik TKG HS 16 fan heater?

Plug the appliance into a 230V socket. Set the selector to the desired position: 0 to turn off, fan for ventilation without heat, 1 for medium power, 2 for maximum power. Adjust the thermostat to the desired temperature. The red light indicates that the appliance is operating.

What to do if the appliance suddenly turns off?

This is probably due to the thermal safety in case of overheating. Unplug the appliance, wait at least 10 minutes, then check that the grilles are not obstructed. Plug back in and adjust again. If the problem persists, contact a qualified service.

How to clean the heater?

Always unplug the appliance before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth for the exterior. For the air intake and outlet grilles, a vacuum cleaner or brush is recommended. Never immerse the appliance in water.

Can I use the appliance in a bathroom?

No, it is forbidden to use the appliance near a bathtub, shower, washbasin or swimming pool. The appliance must not be accessible from water. Use it in a dry room.

What does the red light mean?

The red light indicates that the appliance is operating and heating. It lights up when the selector is on a heat or ventilation position. If the appliance is in thermal safety, the light turns off.

Can I cover the appliance?

No, never cover the heater with a cloth or any other object. This could block the air outlet and cause dangerous overheating.

What is the minimum distance to maintain from walls?

Leave at least 50 cm space between the side panels of the appliance and any obstacle (furniture, wall, curtain) to ensure proper air circulation.

The appliance emits an odor the first time, is this normal?

Yes, during the first use, a slight odor may be released. This is normal and temporary. Ensure adequate ventilation of the room.

Can I leave the appliance on unsupervised?

It is not recommended to leave the appliance unsupervised while operating. Always unplug it when not in use or during prolonged absence.

How to properly turn off the appliance?

To turn off, set the selector to the fan position for 2 to 3 minutes to cool the inside, then to 0. Then unplug the power cord.

Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance.

Important: People (including children) who are not able to use the appliance in a safe way, due to their physical, sensorial or mental capacity or their lack of experience or knowledge, must never use the appliance except if they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or if they previously received instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance. Close supervision is necessary to prevent children from using the appliance as a toy.

☐ Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance.
☐ Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use.
From time to time check the appliance for damages. If it is damaged it should be repaired by a competent qualified electrician(*). Should the cord be damaged, it must be replaced by a competent qualified electrician(*).
☐ Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions.
☐ Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. When cleaning the appliance, refer to the instructions in the paragraph "Cleaning and care" because water penetration through the openings can be very dangerous for your appliance.
□ Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.
Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance from the power supply.
☐ Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.
☐ Never use accessories that are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance.
☐ Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
☐ Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface to prevent it from falling down.
□ Always unplug the appliance when not in use.
☐ Do not place the appliance under a power socket. The power socket must not be in the hot airflow of the appliance in order to avoid overheating.
□ Always position the heater in such a way that inflammable materials (such as curtains) cannot be ignited. Ensure at all times that the unit is placed solidly on its base.
Make sure that the air inlet and outlet openings are not blocked. To avoid any risk of fire, do not cover the heater (e.g. with clothes).
☐ Warning: Do not operate the heater near baths, showers, washbasins, swimming pools or any other water container. It must be impossible to reach the commands of your appliance when you are in contact with water.
☐ The temperature of the grids may be very high when the appliance is in use. Avoid contact with the skin.
□ Never use the appliance near inflammable or explosive materials.
☐ Do not insert any objects through the grille or into the interior of the appliance.

POSITIONING OF THE APPLIANCE

The heater should only be operated at a minimum distance of 50cm from any wall or other object. Position the air flow in order to optimise the heating of the room. Avoid corners, small volumes, floors and ceilings.

OPERATION

When the appliance is switched on for the first time, a slight smell may be emitted. Please ensure sufficient ventilation. This smell will disappear very quickly.

Place the power selector in "0" position, the thermostat on its minimum position and put the plug in a 230V power socket.

The selector allows you to choose the desired power. The higher the power, the faster the heating.

The thermostat regulates the temperature in the room. A red pilot light will indicate that the appliance is operating.

Note: before switching off the appliance, we advise you to operate it in position for 2 to 3 minutes in order to cool it down.

OVERHEAT PROTECTION

This heater is protected with an overheat protection that switches off the appliance automatically in case of overheating, e.g. due to the total or partial obstruction of the grids. In this case, unplug the appliance, wait about 10 minutes for it to cool and remove the object that is obstructing the grids. Then switch it back on as described above. The appliance should operate normally. Should the problem persist, please contact the nearest customer service.

CLEANING AND CARE

• Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
• To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the heater with water and do not immerse it. Clean the housing with a damp cloth.
• If necessary, dust particles accumulated in the air outlet openings may be removed with a vacuum cleaner. This maintenance should be done regularly to assure the good operation of the appliance.
