What is the minimum installation height of the MSDK 701 hood?

The hood must be installed at a minimum height of 65 cm above the cooking surface. If the instructions of the cooking device specify a greater distance, that distance prevails.

How to clean the anti-grease filter?

The metallic anti-grease filter should be cleaned once a month with a non-aggressive detergent, by hand or in the dishwasher at low temperature on a short cycle. Dishwashing may cause discoloration but does not affect performance.

When should the carbon filter be replaced?

The active carbon filter is used only in recirculation mode. It should be replaced every 4 months under normal use.

How to change the hood's bulb?

Before touching the bulb, make sure it is cool. Remove the protective glass with a screwdriver, replace with a 20 W max halogen bulb, avoid touching the bare bulb with your hands, then replace the glass.

Can I use the hood without the grille?

No, it is strictly forbidden to use the hood without properly installing the grille. This can cause fire hazards.

What diameter of evacuation duct is required?

The connection to the evacuation duct must have a minimum diameter of 125 mm.

What to do if the hood cannot be connected to the outside?

You can use the hood in recirculation mode by installing carbon filters. The filtered air will be recirculated into the kitchen through the side openings.

What products to use to clean the exterior of the hood?

Use a cloth soaked in neutral liquid detergent. Avoid abrasive products that could damage the surface.

Does the hood have multiple speeds?

Yes, the MSDK 701 hood offers 3 suction speeds: 1 (minimum), 2 (medium), and 3 (maximum). The keys 1, 2, 3 allow you to select them.

How to dispose of the hood at the end of its life?

In accordance with the WEEE directive (2002/96/EC), the hood must be taken to an approved collection center. Before discarding it, cut the power cable to render it unusable.

Installation

The cooker hood must be placed at a minimum distance of 65 cm from the cooking plane. In the instructions for installation for the gas hob specify a greater distance, this has to be taken into account. Do not tile, grout or silicone this appliance to the wall. Surface mounting only. Do not fix chimney flue to furniture or fly over shelves unless the chimney flue can be easily removed, in case maintenance is ever required.

The exhaust hood must be connected to a discharge duct with a diameter of at least 125 mm. This is of great importance for the lifespan of your exhaust hood.

Exhaust pipe

The exhaust hood includes a connection (B) on top for the discharge of steam outdoors (discharge duct not included). In situations in which it is not possible to discharge steam outdoors, the filter version of the exhaust hood - F (recirculation) - can be used in combination with carbon filters. The filtered air is returned to the kitchen via the openings on the side.

Electrical connection

The electrical tension must correspond to the tension noted on the label placed inside the cooker hood.

Should you wish to discard the appliance for any reason, please comply with the following: Take the machine to the local authorized company that collects discarded household appliances. Correct processing enable valuable materials to be recycled in an intelligent manner. Before discarding your machine it is important that you cut off the power supply cord and remove it together with the plug. This machine has been accorded the appropriate mark in accordance with European Directive 2002/96EG regarding discarded electric and electronic equipment. This directive determines the standards for the collection and recycling of discarded equipment that apply to the entire territory of the European Union.

Maintenance

Prior to any maintenance operation ensure that the cooker hood is disconnected from the electrical outlet.

Cleaning

The cooker hood should be cleaned regularly internally and externally. For cleaning use a cloth moistened with denatured alcohol or neutral liquid detergents. Avoid abrasive detergents.

Warning: Failure to carry out the basic standards of the cleaning of the cooker hood and replacement of the filters may cause fire risks. Therefore we recommend observing these instructions.

Anti-grease Filter

The anti-grease filter must be cleaned once a month, with non abrasive detergents by hand, or in dishwasher on low temperature and short cycle. When washed in a dishwasher, the grease filter may discolour slightly, but this does not affect its filtering capacity.

Charcoal Filter - (only for filter version)

The active charcoal filters are not washable nor regenerative. It should be changed every 4 months in normal use.

Replacing light bulbs

Warning! Before touching the bulbs, make sure they are cool.

Carefully remove the glass lamp cover with a screwdriver (refer to the drawings on the last pages). Remove the defective bulb. Use only halogen bulbs with a maximum rating of 20W and make sure you do not touch them with your bare hand. Then fit the glass lamp cover in its original position.

Caution

This appliance is designed to be operated by adults. Children should not be allowed to tamper with the controls or play with the appliance.

Do not use the cooker hood where the grill is not correctly fixed! The suctioned air must not be conveyed in the same channel used for fumes discharged by appliances powered by other than electricity. The environment must always be adequately aerated when the cooker hood and other appliances powered by other than electricity are used at the same time. Flambé cooking with a cooker hood is prohibited. The use of a free flame is damaging to the filters and may cause fire accidents, therefore free flame cooking must be avoided. Frying of foods must be kept under close control in order to avoid overheated oil catching fire. Carry out fumes discharging in accordance with the regulations in force by local laws for safety and technical restrictions.
