What is the minimum installation height for the MSDK 761 hood?

The hood must be installed at a minimum height of 65 cm above the cooking surface. Follow the specific instructions of your cooktop if they indicate a greater distance.

How to clean the grease filters?

The metal grease filters should be cleaned every month with a non-aggressive detergent. You can wash them by hand or in the dishwasher on a short low-temperature cycle. Dishwashing may discolor the filter without affecting its performance.

When to replace the charcoal filter?

The activated charcoal filter must be replaced every 4 months under normal use. It is neither washable nor recyclable.

How to change the hood bulb?

First unplug the hood. Make sure the bulb is cool. Carefully remove the protective glass with a screwdriver. Replace with a halogen bulb of 20 W max. Avoid touching the bulb with bare hands, then replace the glass.

Can I use the hood in recirculation mode without the charcoal filter?

No, recirculation mode (filtering version) requires the installation of charcoal filters. Without them, the hood will not effectively filter odors.

What diameter of exhaust duct should be used?

Connection to an external exhaust duct requires a minimum diameter of 125 mm.

What if frying oil catches fire under the hood?

Never flambé food under the hood. Monitor frying to avoid oil overheating. In case of fire, do not use water, cover the pan and turn off the hood.

Is the hood compatible with a gas hob?

Yes, but ensure you respect the minimum installation height of 65 cm and provide sufficient room ventilation if the hood and other gas appliances are operating simultaneously.

How to connect the hood electrically?

Check that the mains voltage matches the one indicated on the label located inside the hood. The connection must be carried out by a qualified professional.

How to dispose of the hood?

In accordance with the WEEE directive (2002/96/EC), do not dispose of the hood with household waste. Cut the power cable and deposit it at an approved collection center for household appliances.

Installation

The cooker hood must be placed at a minimum distance of 65 cm from the cooking plane. In the instructions for installation for the gas hob specify a greater distance, this has to be taken into account. Do not tile, grout or silicone this appliance to the wall. Surface mounting only. Do not fix chimney flue to furniture or fly over shelves unless the chimney flue can be easily removed, in case maintenance is ever required.

The exhaust hood must be connected to a discharge duct with a diameter of at least 125 mm. This is of great importance for the lifespan of your exhaust hood.

Exhaust pipe

The exhaust hood includes a connection (B) on top for the discharge of steam outdoors (discharge duct not included). In situations in which it is not possible to discharge steam outdoors, the filter version of the exhaust hood - F (recirculation) - can be used in combination with carbon filters. The filtered air is returned to the kitchen via the openings on the side.

Electrical connection

The electrical tension must correspond to the tension noted on the label placed inside the cooker hood.

Should you wish to discard the appliance for any reason, please comply with the following: Take the machine to the local authorized company that collects discarded household appliances. Correct processing enable valuable materials to be recycled in an intelligent manner. Before discarding your machine it is important that you cut off the power supply cord and remove it together with the plug. This machine has been accorded the appropriate mark in accordance with European Directive 2002/96EG regarding discarded electric and electronic equipment. This directive determines the standards for the collection and recycling of discarded equipment that apply to the entire territory of the European Union.

Maintenance

Prior to any maintenance operation ensure that the cooker hood is disconnected from the electrical outlet.

Cleaning

The cooker hood should be cleaned regularly internally and externally. For cleaning use a cloth moistened with denatured alcohol or neutral liquid detergents. Avoid abrasive detergents.

Warning: Failure to carry out the basic standards of the cleaning of the cooker hood and replacement of the filters may cause fire risks. Therefore we recommend observing these instructions.

Anti-grease Filter

The anti-grease filter must be cleaned once a month, with non abrasive detergents by hand, or in dishwasher on low temperature and short cycle. When washed in a dishwasher, the grease filter may discolour slightly, but this does not affect its filtering capacity.

Charcoal Filter - (only for filter version)

The active charcoal filters are not washable nor regenerative. It should be changed every 4 months in normal use.

Replacing light bulbs

Warning! Before touching the bulbs, make sure they are cool.

Carefully remove the glass lamp cover with a screwdriver (refer to the drawings on the last pages). Remove the defective bulb. Use only halogen bulbs with a maximum rating of 20 W, and make sure you do not touch them with your bare hand. Then fit the glass lamp cover in its original position.

Caution

This appliance is designed to be operated by adults. Children should not be allowed to tamper with the controls or play with the appliance.

Do not use the cooker hood where the grill is not correctly fixed! The suctioned air must not be conveyed in the same channel used for fumes discharged by appliances powered by other than electricity. The environment must always be adequately aerated when the cooker hood and other appliances powered by other than electricity are used at the same time. Flambe cooking with a cooker hood is prohibited. The use of a free flame is damaging to the filters and may cause fire accidents, therefore free flame cooking must be avoided. Frying of foods must be kept under close control in order to avoid overheated oil catching fire. Carry out fumes discharging in accordance with the regulations in force by local laws for safety and technical restrictions.
