How to use the toaster for the first time?

Before first use, make sure the appliance is clean and no objects have fallen into the slots. Plug it into a grounded outlet. Place the bread into the slots, push the lever down fully, then release. Adjust the intensity with the button from 1 to 6.

How to adjust the toasting level?

Turn the intensity adjustment knob clockwise to increase toasting or counterclockwise to decrease it. The positions go from 1 (light) to 6 (very toasted).

What to do if the lever does not stay down?

Check that the appliance is properly plugged into a live outlet. The lever only locks if the appliance is powered. If the problem persists, the appliance may be defective.

Can I warm rolls?

Yes, use the provided bun warmer. Place it on top of the toaster and put the rolls on it. The warmer allows you to heat them without inserting them into the slots.

How to clean the toaster?

Unplug it and let it cool down. Empty the crumb tray by pulling it out by its handle. Clean the outside with a slightly damp dry cloth. Never immerse in water or use a metallic sponge.

Where is the crumb tray located?

The crumb tray is located at the bottom of the appliance. It is removed by pulling its handle. Put it back by pushing it all the way in.

What to do in case of breakdown?

If the appliance does not work, check the outlet and the cord. For any repair, contact a qualified service (manufacturer or importer after-sales service). Do not open the appliance yourself, this voids the warranty.

Can I use non-recommended accessories?

No, only use accessories provided or recommended by the manufacturer. Using unsuitable accessories can be dangerous and damage the appliance.

Toasting is too strong or too weak, how to adjust?

Set the intensity button to a lower position if too toasted, or higher if not enough. For uniform results, use bread of similar size. You can also interrupt the cycle by pressing the stop button.

How to store the cord?

Under the appliance, wind the cord around the provided hooks. Snap the end near the plug into the cord guide on the bottom so it does not get in the way.

Never use accessories that are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance.
Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
q Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface.
q Make sure the appliance has cooled down before cleaning and storing it.
q Make sure the cord never comes into contact with the hot parts of the appliance. Never touch the hot parts of the appliance.
q Make sure the hot parts of the appliance never come into contact with inflammable materials, such as curtains, cloth, etc... when it is in use, as a fire might occur. Keep a distance of at least 1 metre between the appliance and the curtains.
q Do not use the appliance for defrosting food (except frozen bread) and only insert unbuttoned slices of bread of which the thickness does not risk to prevent the bread from coming up. Be extremely strict about this as toasters are the cause of many fires when these elementary safety precautions are not observed.
Empty the appliance frequently of crumbs. Make sure the appliance is always unplugged before emptying it. Check the Maintenance and Cleaning section.
q When cleaning the appliance, do not use metallic scourers in order to avoid any future risk of electric short circuit.
q Your appliance must never be switched on through an external timer or any kind of separate remote control system.
() Competent qualified electrician: after sales department of the producer or importer or any person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all danger. In any case you should return the appliance to this electrician.

OPERATION

• Before using your appliance for the first time, check if it is clean (see "Maintenance and cleaning") as it comes into direct contact with bread. Check if any object has fallen into the slots.
• In the first time, connect the appliance only to a mains earthed wall socket. A grommet on the bottom of the appliance enables to maintain the cord by positioning it to the backside of the appliance.
• Place the slices of bread in the slots (for French bread, cut a loaf shorter than the slot, then cut it in two pieces along its length). Your appliance is provided to receive French bread, but also pieces of toast or other slices of bread if their thickness and their length are shorter than the one of the slot.
• Press down the bread carriage handle until it stops. Then release the pressure and the handle will stay in the lower position, which means that the heating process has begun. If the handle comes up immediately, check if the appliance is plugged in as the handle blocks only when the unit is plugged in.
• You can adjust the browning intensity to obtain a more or less toasted bread by positioning the browning control selector to one of the degrees marked from 1 to 6. Therefore you only have to turn clockwise to increase the intensity, and anticlockwise to decrease it. The higher the number is, the more toasted the bread will be.
• During the functioning, if you think that the bread is toasted enough or for another reason, you can break the heating process at any time, simply by pressing the cancel button.
• At the end of the heating process, the bread carriage handle unlocks and you can take the toast out.
  Always unplug the appliance after use and let it cool down before handling or storing it.
• When storing your appliance, wind the cord around the cord storage facility underneath the appliance and attach the end of the cord in the notch.

RACK FOR BUN WARMING

Your appliance is provided with a bun warmer. To warm the buns, just place the support on the top of the toaster.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

• Before attempting any cleaning operation, make sure the toaster is unplugged from the supply socket and fully cooled down.
• To remove breadcrumbs slide the crumb tray situated on the side of the appliance. To open it, slide it horizontally. To close it, proceed inversely.
  To clean the exterior surfaces, simply wipe over with a soft damp cloth.
  -ON NO ACCOUNT MUST THE TOASTER BE IMMERSED IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
• A qualified technician should perform all other maintenance and repair. No guarantee claims will be accepted if the appliance has been opened inappropriately.

TERMS OF GUARANTEE

For our products, the legal terms concerning claims under guarantee are valid. During the legal period, all material and manufacturing defects are covered. No claims will be accepted for broken accessories, defects resulting from inappropriate use or care, excessive wear due to intensive use, wrong use due to the non-observance of the instruction manual, or normal wear and tear. No guarantee claims will be accepted if the appliance has been modified or if attempts have been made to repair the appliance. In such case, the vendor cannot be held responsible in case of accidents.

If you detect a defect, please contact your vendor or shop and return your complete appliance in its original packaging together with the receipt. Claims under guarantee will only be valid if the receipt or a copy of a repair bill is handed over with the appliance that needs repair.

Or send the appliance cleaned, well packed and with a short, easily readable description of the default as well as the receipt freight prepaid to our customer service in our firm in Bad Blankenburg.

In case of a defective accessory, the complete appliance will not be exchanged, but only the accessory will be sent free of charge. In such case, do not return the complete appliance but only order the accessory! In case of glass damages, glass spare parts will be charged. Pieces undergoing wear and tear as well as cleaning and maintenance or the exchange of worn out pieces are not covered by the guarantee and will thus be charged!

AFTER THE LEGAL PERIOD OF GUARANTEE

Repairs after the guarantee period can be performed at a charge by a competent qualified technician or a repair service.
