Wall or ceiling mounting - When mounting the product on a wall or ceiling, be sure to install the product ac- cording to the method recommended by the manufac- turer. Power Lines - An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines or other electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from touching such power lines or cir- cuits as contact with them might be fatal. Protective Attachment Plug - The product is equipped with an attachment plug having overload protection. This is a safety feature. See Instruction Manual for replacement or resetting of protective device. If re- placement of the plug is required, be sure the service technician has used a replacement plug specified by the manufacturer that has the same overload protec- tion as the original plug. Stand - Do not place the product on an unstable cart, Stand, tripod or table. Placing the product on an un- stable base can cause the product to fall, resulting in serious personal injuries as well as damage to the product. Use only a cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table recommended by the manufacturer or sold with the product. When mounting the product on a wall, be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions. Use only the mounting hardware recommended by the manufacturer.
Precaution: (CW_Seneral ) (M Voume Control ) + Keep your equipment at least 4" (10 cm) of free space along the sides, top and back for proper ventilation + Use the unit on a firm, level surface free from vibration. + Place the unit at least 12° (30 cm) away from any CRT TV to avoid color variations across the TV screen. If the variations persist, move the unit further away from the TV. LCD TV is not prone to such variation. + Keep the unit away from direct sunlight, strong magnetic fields, excessive dust, humidity and electronic/electrical equipment (home. computers, facsimiles, etc.) which generate electrical noise. + Do not expose the unit to moisture, to temperatures higher than 113F (45°C) or to extremely low temperatures. + Ifthe unit does not work properly, unplug and plug it in again. In case of an electrical storm, unplug the unit for safety. + Hold the AC power plug by the head when removing it from the AC outlet, as puling the cord can damage internal wires. + Do not place anything on top of the unit + The AC power plugis used as a disconnect device and shall always remain readily operable. + Do not remove the outer cover, as this may result in electric shock. The voltage used must be the same as that specified on this unit. Using this product with a higher voltage other than that which is specified is dangerous and may result in a fire or other type of accident causing damage. SHARP will not be held responsible for any damage resulting from use of this unit with a voltage other than that which is specified. The sound level at a given volume setting depends on speaker efficiency, location and various other factors. It is advisable to avoid exposure to high volume levels, which occurs while tuming the unit on with the volume control setting up high, or while continually listening at high volumes. Also avoid locations subject to vibrations and excessive dust, cold or moisture. Fitting or replacing the remote control battery Use 2 ‘AAA' size batteries (UM/SUM-4, R3, HP-16 or similar).
1. Remove the batteries compariment cover on the back
ofthe remote control
2. Load two AAA/1.5V batteries into the battery
compartiment making sure that the battery have been inserted with the correct polarities matching the symbols +, - as indicated inside the battery compartment.
3. Replace the battery cover and clip it in place.
Caution: e_ Replace all old batteries with new ones at the same time. Remove the batteries if the unit will not be used for a long period of time. This will prevent potential damage due to battery leakage. Do not use rechargeable batteries (nickel-cadmium battery, etc.). «Batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like. Risk of fire explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Notes concerning use: <_ Exposing the sensor on the unit and remote control to strong light may interfere with operation. Change the lighting or the direction of the unit if this occurs Keep the remote control away from moisture, heat shock, and vibrations. (m_Remote control operation + Point the remote control at the remote sensor on the front panel. + The remote control works within a distance of about 26 f. (8 m) from the sensor and within an angle of about 30 degrees from the left and right side.
Placement and Mounting (m Placement ) A: Standard Placement B: Wall Mounting {Place Soundbar on leveled surface in front of TV)
E N : (=_ Wall Mounting ) In order to prevent injuries, the sound bar device must be 28-3/4" (730mm) securely fasten to the wall in accordance with the below installation instructions.
1. Drill the two holes (about 1/4" diameter) in
the wall and keep the distance between the drill holes of the sound bar is 28-3/4" Insert the two plugs supplied into two driled holes 0 and then insert two screws supplied into two holes and tighten. (As shown in the picture on the right).
2. Take care to leave 5/32" between the screw heads
and wall. (AS shown in the picture on the right). 5/32"(4 mm)
3. Use the assembled sound bar to hang on the setscrews
on the wall. (AS shown in the picture on the right). Note: + _ Installation must be carried out by qualified personnel on. + incorrect assembly can result in severe personal injury and property damage (if you intend to install this product yourself, you must check for installations such as electrical wiring and plumbing that may be buried inside the wall) «The installer responsible for verifying that the wall will safely support the total load of the unit and wall (31 brackets. + Additional tools (not included) are required for the installation. Do not overtighten screws. + Keep this instruction manual for future reference. Use an electronic stud finder to check the wall type before driling and mounting,
System connection (®_ Preparation for use ) CAUTION:
SLOT, FULLY INSERT. AC outlet (AG 100 - 240V 50/60 Hz) (CB HDMI ARC input (1) + The ARC (Audio Retum Channel) function allows you to send audio from your ARC- compliant TV to your sound bar through a single HDMI connection. To enjoy the ARC funclion, please ensure your TV is both HDMI-CEC and ARC compliant and set up accordingly. When correctly set up, you can use your TV remote control to adjust the volume output (VOL +/- and MUTE) of the sound bar. + Connect the HDMI cable (not included) from units HDMI (ARC) socket to the HDMI (ARC) socket on your ARC compliant TV.
